Noel and Liam Gallagher's mum reveals her role as secret 'instigator' of reunion
Noel and Liam Gallagher's mother Peggy Gallagher 'instigated' their reconciliation when she told them to not Look Back in Anger and 'get on with it', she has revealed.
Bickering brothers Liam, 52, and Noel, 58, hadn't spoken since Oasis' split following their big fall out in 2009, but announced their historic reunion last year ending fans' excruciating wait.
The Mancunian stars are currently preparing for their reunion tour, largely thanks to their mum Peggy, she has revealed in a recent interview.
While Peggy urged the Wonderwall hitmakers to put their differences aside, she insisted she couldn't have made them do anything they didn't want to do.
She told Ireland's Mail on Sunday newspaper: 'I was the instigator, yes. But sure, wasn't it always going to happen at some time or other?
'It was their choice, of course.
'Look you can't force them to do things they don't want to do.
'You just have to say, 'Get on with it' and I said that.'
The 82-year-old matriarch is relieved her warring sons have finally made up.
She said: 'It's great, because nobody wants their kids falling out, do they?'
Off the back of their new found peace, Peggy is looking forward to seeing Noel and Liam back on stage together this summer.
But she admitted: 'I'll be glad when it's all just over because it makes me get too stressed.'
Mayo-born Peggy is hoping to travel to Dublin to see Oasis perform in Croke Park, but she has just had a knee replacement operation so is currently unsure as to whether she will be fit enough to make the journey from her home in Manchester.
She said: 'I'm hoping to get to the Oasis concert in Dublin in August if I can hobble around. That's my plan anyway… it will be great.

'I know the Irish fans are thrilled about it. There's great excitement in Ireland about the reunion tour and it will be lovely to see family there, also my sister Kathleen. I am really looking forward to the Dublin one.'
Peggy – who also plans to see her sons at their homecoming shows in Manchester – knows the road to recovery will be long.
She said: 'It's still sore. I'm sick of bloody exercising it, up and down the stairs, they say it takes anything up to nine months to be right again… I am finding it hard going up and down the stairs. Still, we have to get there, we have to get on with it.'
While her sons are multi-millionaires, Peggy insists on remaining in her same modest council house in Manchester, surrounded by friends and her familiar haunts. The only thing she asked the brothers to do was replace her garden gate, the outlet reports.
This comes after Liam told a fan on X that he considered the famous feud with Noel as 'wasted' years.
A fan on X asked: 'How does it feel singing songs with ur brother again? Like old times?'
To this Liam replied with his regret: 'You know what it's spiritual but I can't help think about all those wasted years what a waste of PRECIOUS time.' More Trending
Just a month short of 16 years since Noel announced he could no longer work with his brother Liam, the Britpop legends will be taking to the stage once more on July 5.
They are performing in Cardiff, before heading to their native Manchester for a five-night run, and London's Wembley Stadium at the end of the month.
Edinburgh and Dublin dates are set for August, before Noel and Liam head over to kick off the North America leg of their tour.
The brothers will be back – if all goes to plan – to perform two more Wembley shows in September.

Toni and Emily clashed in fiery scenes with the former accusing her costar of being nosey on the ITV reality dating series. Toni - who arrived as the first bombshell of the series - got annoyed after hearing a conversation between Emily and Conor. The row then started after Emily accused Toni of talking behind her back and was warned by Meg that Toni had said she was being "nosey" and described her as "Little Miss Sunshine." Toni was also seen talking about Emily to Shakira, who agreed with Toni's views. Following their row, an exasperated Emily said she thought Toni was "just trying to cause a problem," and "she's f****g nuts." But amidst the drama fans couldn't help notice Shakria, 22, and scaffolder Shea, 25, getting cosy on the daybeds. The pair were spotted laughing together despite the unfolding drama and fans think a new romance could be brewing. Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), one user said: 'Toni and Emily arguing and all I could focus on was Shea making Shakira LAUGH in the background??? Oh my ship has potential to sail and I'm here for it.' 'Okay, love the Toni drama and all but did anyone notice Shakira and Shea in the background. They looked so cute together,' chimed another. Maya Jama left stunned as Love Island star's mum admits 'I didn't know who you were' before son joined show A third penned: 'I peeped shea and shakira chatting in the background today. We know Shae and Shakira have chatted for example bc when Shae was fighting for his spot he said he'd like to continue getting to know her even though we haven't seen them talking at all yet.' 'SHEA PULL SHAKIRA ALREADY #LoveIsland' exclaimed a fourth. The Mancunian beauty is now open to getting to know more people after she called things off with model Ben. Their relationship was rocky from the outset as Shakira was left constantly questioning their chemistry. Shakira gave a range of reasons for her decision, including telling Ben that he "dulled my sparkle." She is now growing close with Harry Cooksley and things are heating up between the pair after they shared a steamy kiss in yesterday's Spin The Bottle game. 5 Shakira is now open to getting to know more people after she called things off with model Ben Credit: Eroteme 5 Shakira shared a steamy kiss in yesterday's Spin The Bottle game with Harry Cooksley Credit: Eroteme

Jay-Z snubs Kanye West with major lyric change during Beyonce tour
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video For the first time in six years, Jay-Z took to the stage with Beyonce for an iconic duet of Crazy In Love but his second track had some tweaks. Gig-goers were beside themselves as he walked on stage in Paris for night two, the closing night of her short European leg of the Cowboy Carter tour. The French capital has been dubbed Queen B's 'favourite city' by fans as she brought out Miley Cyrus for a guest performance of II Most Wanted days before. Jay-Z rapped his part of Crazy In Love before his wife walked off stage and left him to perform his iconic track N****s in Paris — a collaboration with Kanye West — solo. The 55-year-old rapper didn't miss a beat as he burst into the track from their 2011 album,Watch the Throne. However, he did alter one lyric to omit Ye's name from the song, singing 'Just might let you meet Bey' instead. While it may be a happy coincidence that Bey's name fits nicely in the track, Jay-Z — real name Shawn Carter — appears to no longer be friends with his close collaborator. The Gold Digger rapper has been behaving erratically over the past few years, having declared he was a 'nazi' before retracting that statement. Ye, 48, claimed the falling out was sparked by Jay-Z's involvement with 2021 album Donda on the song Jail. 'Why did Jay Z have to say 'no red hat' on Jail,' he said on X in a now-deleted post. 'That s*** tore me to my soul. We fought about it and he told me either leave that line on there or take my verse off. Me wearing the red hat was the most stand out example of me going against 'the program.' Do you guys think he was instructed to say that?' The 'red hat' is thought to refer to Ye's endorsement of Donald Trump and his MAGA hats in the former reality star's first presidential election run. Later, Ye posted a string of messages on X aimed at the Carters, which included questioning the mental capabilities of their seven-year-old child. Insiders claimed the family was looking into taking legal action before Ye removed the post. He made sure to tell everyone it was not removed to be 'a good person.' 'I need everyone to know that I took the post about Jay Z and Beyoncé's family down … because there was a possibility of my Twitter being cancelled [sic],' he wrote. A source told Page Six at the time that the Roc Nation founder 'will absolutely not stand' for the way Ye 'has spoken about their children.' Beyonce and Jay-Z have never publicly addressed the rift, choosing instead to put on these huge displays of family unity, like in Paris. More Trending Of course, Blue Ivy was also at the tour as she has become one of her mum's main featured dancers at just 13 years old. Paris was actually the city where the youngster made her first on stage appearance during the 2023 Renaissance Tour, showing off those now-famous dance moves. Little Rumi, seven, has also been making an appearance on the Cowboy Carter Tour, although her twin brother Sir is staying out of the spotlight. The Cowboy Carter Tour will continue in the US on June 28, after six shows in London and two in Paris. Got a story? Superman fans still upset over David Corenswet's 'terrible' flying face
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Superman fans are still upset over David Corenswet's flying in a new snap from the upcoming movie about the beloved DC action hero. On seeing the picture, in which Superman looks like he's in an inspiring Amazon delivery ad, fans couldn't help but notice that David looked 'weird' in the wide-angle lens. 'The zoomed in fisheye lens look is so weird to me. I know everybody and their grandmother is obsessed with James Gunn and thinks he's some perfect filmmaker, but so much of the promotional material for this movie makes me want to not see it,' said @syaokuro on X. 'The close up shots look so weird,' said @Its_Me_Cole, while @ZibahTheCreator added: 'Why does it look AI generated than an actual studio work?' 'Probably gonna skip this one until it's free,' commented @Lbnumber34, while @adijain31 simply said: 'Looks funny af.' 'POV im waiting for you to give me my lil kiss on the forehead,' joked @Cuellar_Elissa about the hopeful facial expression on David's face. 'We need to retire this camera angle for good,' said @Rasheto. 'I know he REALLY wants this shot but man you gotta let this s**t go,' said @Jdemfoo. 'It looks terrible, unflattering and there's basically no right way to light this scene. Cutting room floor.' Some compared the moment to similar shots of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as Black Adam and Will Poulter as Adam Warlock in movies gone by. When the teaser trailer dropped in January fans had the same issue. 'I don't know why you would shoot a shot like this in that way. It's always gonna make a head appear bigger and give the shot a weird look – it also accentuates David Corenswet's strabismus eyes,' Reddit userDoctorBeatMaker reflected. 'I think there's something wrong with the cape too. It looks way too fake somehow,' equal-ad-2710 wrote. 'If I had to guess they've used this lens because it gives off a greater sense of speed and to be fair I definitely do get that feeling from it, even if it makes his face look a little weird because of the angle,' TheJosider defended. 'This shot looks so bad every time. why do filmmakers insist on it?' ProtectMeAtAllCosts complained. Over on X, many were comparing the flying sequence to Henry Cavill's version when he played Superman from 2013 to 2017 in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. 'Biggest downgrade in history of DC on screen,' chriwankenobi posted. 'The real issue isn't just the face it's the way he's flying the arms by his side just makes the flying look uncomfortable it makes David look ill at ease superman should look at ease when he's flying the flying should be graceful,' moviestvmad echoed. 'Seriously, what is up with these weird face-on lens distortion flying shots focusing only on the character's face lately? Black Adam, Adam Warlock, and now Superman. 'There are so many cooler ways to visualize flying; just look at anything in Man of Steel. These just look goofy,' @ColtonC_20 argued. For those worried about the use of computer graphics, however, the CEO of DC Studios and filmmaker James Gunn shut down speculation on Threads. 'Looks dope!! Great camera angle of Superman flying!! Except there's something with his face that looks a little off. I know there's plenty of time to refine the CG,' @blutattu commented. James replied: 'There is absolutely zero CG in his face. People's faces can look different when you put a wide angle lens up close. The background plate in Svalbard [a filming location in the Norwegian archipelago] is 100% real as is David.' For the most part, there is plenty of excitement for this new take on the age-old superhero, which also stars Rachel Brosnahan as heroine Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as villain Lex Luthor. 'Lives will be changed. I can't wait for this!' @silverscreen_re wrote. 'This movie is gonna be so f**king good…I actually can't wait,' @thecollectorn shared. 'Keep getting more and more hyped for this,' @theslyfox13 wrote. In a recent interview with Gizmodo, James reflected that the new movie was about the 'basic kindness of human beings' and even offered a rebuttal to the more toxic side of the internet. He continued: 'When I watch the trailer and the movie, we do have a sort of battered vision of Superman at the beginning. I think that is our country. 'I believe in the goodness of human beings. And I believe that most people in this country, despite their ideological beliefs [or] their politics, are doing their best to get by and trying to be good people, despite what it may seem like to the other side and what that other side might be. 'I think this movie is about that. It's about the basic kindness of human beings. And that it can be seen as uncool, and it can be seen as under siege when some of the darker voices are some of the louder voices. 'That's what happens when you let the internet seem like it's the world—when it's not the world. The world is us.' More Trending Meanwhile, the 31-year-old actor has previously opened up about the side-effects of bulking for the role. 'I wasn't 238 (pounds) when we started shooting. I was 238 at my max,' he told the Manly Things (Soft Of) podcast last year, as a result he 'didn't fit into any of [his] pants.' Superman arrives in cinemas on July 11, 2025.
