‘Mga Batang Riles' ends chapter with justice served and brighter tomorrows
'Mga Batang Riles' served a gripping finale that delivered a rollercoaster of emotions as it closed the chapter on the boys' tumultuous journey. The episode opened in the heat of chaos as the boys rushed to save Kidlat (Miguel Tanfelix), who was inside a burning building. In a dramatic turn, it was his biological father, Rendon (Jay Manalo), who came to his rescue. Kidlat managed to escape and was tearfully reunited with his mother, Maying (Diana Zubiri), and his found family, Dagul (Anton Vinzon), Kulot (Kokoy de Santos), and Sig (Raheel Bhyria). Inside the flames, Rendon made the ultimate sacrifice, choosing to stay with Matos (Bruce Roeland) in their final moments. Kidlat and the others attempted to save them, only to witness the building collapse before their eyes. Following the tragedy, a more emotional reunion unfolded between Dagul and Dolor (Ynez Veneracion), who, for the first time, showed genuine care and regret for how she had treated him. The two embraced, symbolizing healing after years of distance. As the flames of the past settled, Kidlat wrestled with his emotions over Matos' death, once a friend, then a foe, and Rendon, the father who saved him despite their bitter history. Maying reminded him of the strength he showed. The residents of Sitio Liwanag, wounded but unbroken, gathered with newfound hope and pledged to start anew. The final act brought long-awaited justice as Argus (Jeric Raval) was captured and exposed Scarlett (Desiree Del Valle) as the mastermind behind the arson that devastated Sitio Liwanag. With this revelation, the people finally got the justice they deserved. The young heroes also took their first steps into new lives: Dagul became a police officer, Kulot an engineer, and Sig, now with Lady, who successfully received a transplant, looked forward to the future. Kidlat became a martial arts teacher, continuing to inspire strength and discipline in others. Mutya (Zephanie), who pursued her dream of becoming a nurse, remained by Kidlat's side as his partner. In a fitting final scene, the boys were seen chasing after a thief, symbolizing their undying courage and readiness to stand up for what is right. —Carby Rose Basina/CDC, GMA Integrated News

Shuvee Etrata reveals Anthony Constantino has been courting her even before she entered 'Pinoy Big Brother'
What is the real score between Shuvee Etrata and Anthony Constantino? This was the question that was asked Shuvee in her GMA Integrated News interview with Aubrey Carampel alongside her fellow ex-PBB housemates, which aired on Friday. In response, Shuvee revealed that Anthony has been courting her even before she entered Bahay ni Kuya. "Nanliligaw. Nanliligaw 'yun bago ako pumasok, t'as sabi talaga nito, 'Sige sagutin mo 'yan. Bawal' kasi papasok eh. Papasok ka dun, like it's the worst thing you could do to a man, saying yes na papasok ka ng 'PBB,'" she said. "Pero ang hirap, I can just imagine kung meron kami, kasi kahit nung nandun ako sa loob, hirap na hirap ako. Wala akong something to hold on to." She added that she wants to get to know Anthony deeper. "Manligaw muna pa siya," she quipped. Anthony was among the people who welcomed Shuvee into the outside world after she got evicted from "Pinoy Big Brother" with her duo Klarisse De Guzman. Roxie Smith, Sugar Mercado, Skye Chua, and fellow ex-housemate Ashley Ortega were also there to meet her after her exit from the house. In Shuvee's return to "Unang Hirit" on Friday as a guest, she got a sweet surprise from Anthony, who visited her on set and brought a bouquet for her. Anthony shared that he is "very happy" with Shuvee's journey inside "PBB" and expressed his pride for her. He also said that he's "really blessed and lucky to have you in my life." Shuvee could not help but scream from the kilig and thanked him for patiently waiting "Guys nandito na po 'yung TDH ko!" she declared, pertaining to the acronym "tall, dark, and handsome" which she used to describe Donny Pangilinan. This week, Shuvee, along with the other evicted housemates, returned to "PBB" as duo challengers. "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition" airs new episodes on GMA Network weeknights at 9:35 p.m. and Saturdays at 6:15 p.m. —CDC, GMA Integrated News

‘Superman' cast grateful for warmth, support given by Filipino fans
The cast and crew of the new 'Superman' film have expressed their profound joy and gratitude following their visit to the Philippines, which was the first stop of their world tour. In Nelson Canlas' report in '24 Oras' Friday, David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan talked about the love they felt from the Filipino fans. 'To show up and have people dressed as Superman and dressed as Hawkgirl and Mr. Terrific, and there were definitely some Lois Lanes out there, it's really just we get to come and celebrate this amazing legacy of these characters in this world and get excited for the new chapter that we're bringing,' David said. 'You know, we're the new kids on the block, and to feel that warmth and that kind of support as we're kicking off this tour was really, really special. So we're very grateful to have started here in the Philippines,' Rachel said. David will star as Superman and Clark Kent in the film, while Rachel will play the role of Lois Lane. Director James Gunn also explained his motivation for the approach of the movie, particularly in the current global climate. 'I think that we've gotten in the world—the world seems kind of mean lately. I think that I really just want to remind people and myself about the values of basic human kindness,' he said. On social media Friday, the "Superman" film shared photos of the stars alongside James and co-producer Peter Safran posing with a Superman-themed jeepney. 'Superman' opens in cinemas and IMAX on July 9. It establishes the iconic hero in the new DC Studios cinematic universe headed by Gunn and Peter Safran. According to Gunn, "Superman" has become more than a movie for him. "It's a story about humanity, about what it means to be a hero in a world that doesn't always make it easy to be one.' The film also stars Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell. —Carby Rose Basina/CDC, GMA Integrated News
