President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi announced serious and swift measures, to be implemented immediately, during the Labor Day celebrations, which I was honored to attend on Saturday. The measures include raising the minimum emergency fund benefit from EGP 600 to EGP 1,500, directing the House of Representatives to expedite discussions on the new labor law, and supporting the establishment of an integrated training center to prepare youth for the labor market according to international standards, launching a national strategy to promote the culture of occupational safety and secure the work environment, increasing employment among women and disabled ones, and expanding inspections of workplaces to enforce the minimum wage.
The President's remarks were not merely a traditional salute to workers, but rather practical measures that touch the daily lives of Egyptian workers. They affirm that the state is not satisfied with symbolic honors, but is working to improve the conditions of those who shape this country's economy.
The choice of Suez as the venue for the celebration was excellent since the city is witnessing a major industrial boom, and during the celebration, we witnessed a number of important projects in the economic zone northwest of the Gulf of Suez.
The message we get from this day is that production continues, factories are being built, and the state is betting on industry as a path to true economic stability.
The president spoke in clear and direct language, linking the workers' appreciation to actions on the ground, in workshops and factories, where daily life is conducted despite the challenges. He said clearly, "Young people don't need promises, but rather real actions." President Sisi emphasized that workers must feel that their rights are protected and that there are policies to protect their efforts and guarantee them a fair life in light of the high cost of living and the challenges we all face.
This year's celebration was more than just an occasion. It was a declaration that the state continues to support those who work hard and strive, building with them every brick on the road to the new republic.
To every worker, the message was clear: You are not alone, and the state sees you and is working with you for a better tomorrow. Thank you, Mr. President.

Egypt rejects ongoing Israeli escalation against Iran: Sisi tells Pezeshkian
President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi expressed Egypt's complete rejection of the ongoing Israeli escalation against Iran, as it poses a threat to the security and stability of the Middle East at a critical time when the region is experiencing multiple crises. This came during a telephone call held on Saturday between El-Sisi and his Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, the first officially announced contact between the two leaders since the outbreak of the war. According to a statement from the presidency, the Egyptian President emphasized the importance Egypt attaches to an immediate ceasefire, allowing for the resumption of negotiations to reach a sustainable, peaceful solution to this crisis. El-Sisi emphasized the importance of working to de-escalate the situation as much as possible and ensuring that the cycle of violence does not expand, noting that there are no military solutions to this crisis. He also emphasized to his Iranian counterpart that the only way to ensure sustainable stability in the Middle East is through the implementation of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in accordance with international legitimacy. For his part, the Iranian president was keen to express his appreciation to the President, valuing Egypt's wise positions aimed at restoring stability to the Middle East, thereby sparing the bloodshed on all sides. He also emphasized his country's alignment with Egypt's position on the need to find a just, comprehensive, and final solution to the Palestinian issue. Earlier Saturday, FM Abdelatty discussed the ongoing Israeli aggression on Iran and efforts to de-escalate the conflict between Tel-Aviv and Tehran with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi in Turkey After the meeting, Abdelatty spoke in a telephone call to the US President Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff stressing that Egypt believes there are no military solutions to the conflict between Israel and Iran, emphasizing that peaceful settlement and political dialogue remain the only viable path to lasting peace and stability in the region. FM Reaffirms Support for Diplomacy Over Iran-Israel Conflict
Nada Mustafa Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, Badr Abdelatty, held a phone call on Saturday with U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Weitkopf, as part of ongoing coordination and consultation between Egypt and United States (U.S.) regarding the rapidly escalating situation in the region. The two sides discussed the alarming developments stemming from the military escalation between Israel and Iran, which poses a serious threat to regional security and stability. Abdelatty emphasized the urgent need to halt the escalation, establish a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, and resume negotiations concerning the Iranian nuclear program. He stressed that there are no military solutions to conflicts, affirming that peaceful settlement and political dialogue remain the only viable paths to achieving sustainable peace and stability in the Middle East.
