Hours after a 12-person Massachusetts jury found Karen Read not guilty of murdering her Boston police officer boyfriend John O'Keefe, several jurors have spoken out about how they came to their decision.
Read was accused by prosecutors of hitting O'Keefe with her SUV and leaving him to die during a snowstorm on Jan. 29, 2022. Her first trial in 2024 ended in a hung jury, but on June 18, she was acquitted on charges of second-degree murder and manslaughter.
The jury did, however, find her guilty on a drunk driving charge. She was sentenced to one year of probation.
Read's defense team has long alleged O'Keefe's death stemmed from an incident inside the Canton, Massachusetts house of fellow police officer Brian Albert. O'Keefe was found dead on Albert's front lawn, but he says O'Keefe never came inside.

One of the jurors in Read's trial, who was identified only by his first name, Jason, told TMZ he believes she is innocent.
"I think for the jurors there's a mix of, some people think that she was definitely innocent, and the other people, there was a lot of reasonable doubt at least to where we didn't want to convict her," he said.
Regarding the theory that Read may have been framed in O'Keefe's death, Jason said he doesn't know if there was a coverup.
"I was only presented a limited scope of what happened at the night, and I can only base my opinion off of the evidence that was shown in the courtroom," he said.
He added, "All I know is that there was a lot of holes in the investigation."
Paula Prado, another juror who found Karen Read not guilty, spoke out in several media interviews after the verdict was handed down.
She told local media on June 19 that she found there were too many inconsistencies in the investigation.
"I thought Karen Read was actually maybe guilty of manslaughter in the beginning. But as the weeks passed by, I just realized there was too many holes that we couldn't fill and there is nothing that put her on the scene, in our opinion, besides just dropping John O'Keefe off," Prado said, per WBZ News and NBC 10 Boston.
Prado, who is a lawyer from Brazil, said in an interview on the TODAY show on June 20 that she's "confident we did the right thing," but feels "sorry that justice wasn't served" for O'Keefe's family.
"The reason why I'm coming out and talking to people is to keep the flame going and the supporters going after the DA, or whatever they have to do, to reopen the case and find who really killed John O'Keefe," she said.

Memorial Day weekend shooting leaves 11 injured near North Myrtle Beach as police hunt suspects
South Carolina authorities continue to search for the suspect or suspects who carried out a mass shooting that left 11 people injured on Sunday evening in Little River, near North Myrtle Beach. The Horry County Police Department described the shooting as an isolated incident stemming from an altercation on a charter boat during a private Memorial Day gathering. There were about 124 people onboard the boat, including four crew members, when the shooting occurred, Horry County police said during a Tuesday press conference. Three victims are still hospitalized while eight have been released, authorities said during the press conference. "This type of violence will not be tolerated in Horry County," HCPD Chief Kris Leonhardt said. "We are going to do our very best to investigate this case and bring criminal charges against these folks that have caused this incident here in our county." Horry County Fire Department Chief Joseph Tanner said authorities initially got a call around 9:15 p.m. reporting an injury and responded accordingly. Upon arrival, officials located multiple gunshot-wounded victims. The charter boat party attendees were from out of town, Leonhardt said, making it more difficult to track down witnesses. A total of 10 victims sustained gunshot wounds and another person reported an unknown injury not related to gunfire, the police department said in a Monday press release. Some victims were recovered from the water, the North Myrtle Beach Police Department (NMBPD) said in a separate press release. "Of those, the worst of the injured are in critical but stable condition at area hospitals," Horry County police said in a press release. Videos and photos posted to social media on Sunday evening showed a heavy police presence in the area of the Dolphin Cruise parking lot in Little River, located north of North Myrtle Beach. NMBPD also said the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating a separate incident involving a responding North Myrtle Beach officer who was injured with his own firearm near the Harbourgate Marina in North Myrtle Beach. "A NMBPD Officer was entering a gate to the dock when his rifle discharged twice, with one of the rounds striking his leg," the department said in its press release. "At the time of the discharge, the Officer had both of his hands on the gate, which was confirmed by later video evidence. Due to the Officer not attempting to utilize his weapon at the time, all Officers on scene believed that shots were being fired from the marina area." The officer was transported to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery for his injuries. Video footage obtained from a witness apparently shows the incident, and authorities determined that "the discharge was from the wounded Officer's rifle," and the scene was released to SLED. Horry County police said the shooting remains under investigation, and "there is currently no associated risk to the community." Crime concerns in and around Myrtle Beach have been heightened since April 26, when a shooting in the Myrtle Beach entertainment district left the shooter dead and 11 victims injured. Myrtle Beach officials described the shooting as an isolated incident at the time. At least 1 dead, 10 shot during South Carolina Juneteenth event near veterans' center
Nearly a dozen people were shot Saturday night near a South Carolina veterans' center during a "Juneteenth celebration." The Anderson County Sheriff's Office confirmed at least 10 people were shot, and one person is dead after a fight in the parking lot of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post. One person was flown to Greenville Memorial Hospital and at least eight others were taken to nearby hospitals in Anderson and Greenville. The crowd, which included hundreds of people, gathered for the county's sixth annual Juneteenth celebration, sheriff's officials wrote in a statement provided to Fox News Digital. Man accused of attempted murder after allegedly firing on deputies in Victorville
A man was arrested after allegedly opening fire on sheriff's deputies in Victorville early Saturday, according to law enforcement officials. The shooting took place about 2 a.m. Saturday at a multi-unit commercial building in the 13800 block of Amargosa Road, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department officials and county records. Deputies responded to the building in response to "multiple wireless 911 calls," the sheriff's department said in a written statement. The agency said deputies then arrived to perform a "welfare check in response to a possible emergency." No further information regarding the nature of the 911 calls was released. "Without provocation, [the suspect] used a firearm to fire multiple rounds at the responding deputies," the statement said. "Additional resources arrived, and Gomez was taken into custody without further incident." No deputies were struck by the gunfire, officials said. David Morales Gomez, 31, of Victorville was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, shooting at an inhabited dwelling or vehicle and assault with a firearm, records show. Bail was set at $1 million pending an initial court appearance, scheduled Tuesday in the Victorville branch of San Bernardino County Superior Court.
