Three Libyan travel agents participate in the Bali & Beyond Travel Fair in Indonesia

Three representatives from leading travel agents in Libya have participated in the Familiarization Trip (Famtrip) program and attended the 11th Bali & Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF), being held in Bali on 11–16 June 2025.
This activity was facilitated by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Tripoli in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, as part of an effort to expand the Indonesian tourism market to Libya.
While in Bali, the travel agents participated in a series of strategic agendas, ranging from visits to leading tourist destinations to business meetings and networking sessions in a series of BBTF 2025 activities.
The Charge D'Affairs of the Indonesian Embassy in Tripoli, Dr. Dede Achmad Rifai, said this collaboration is part of Indonesia's economic diplomacy.
'With full support from the Indonesia government and industry players, Libya's participation in the 11th BBTF is expected to be the beginning of closer tourism relations between the two countries, while strengthening Indonesia's position as a leading tourist destination in Asia and the world.' He added.
In interactions with Indonesian tourism industry players, the Libyan travel agents also expressed their interest and enthusiasm for cultural tourism products and natural beauty as well as opportunities for developing Muslim-friendly tour packages that are in accordance with the characteristics of Libyan tourists, making tourism in Bali - Indonesia the main target market for tourist destinations.
The participation of the Libyan delegation in the BBTF is one of the concrete steps of the Indonesian Embassy in Tripoli's economic diplomacy in the tourism sector, a press release by the embassy said.
In addition to facilitating their presence, the Indonesian Embassy is also actively promoting Indonesia's tourism potential through business matching activities, local media publications and collaboration with tourism business actors in Libya. This initiative is expected to pave the way for increasing the flow of tourists from Libya to Indonesia in the future.
The participants appreciated the warm welcome and first-hand experience they felt while in Bali. They expressed strong interest in immediately exploring partnerships with travel agents in Indonesia and starting to offer tour packages to Bali to the Libyan market. In addition to expanding business cooperation, this experience also forms a positive perception of Indonesia as an attractive and friendly tourist destination for international tourists.

Aqilah Saleh discusses controversial 69 billion budget with Belqasim Haftar

The Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Aqilah Saleh, has met with Belqasim Haftar, son of Khalifa Haftar and director of the Reconstruction Fund, to discuss the proposed budget for the fund and the development plan for 2025, 2026, and 2027, incorporating feedback from the parliamentary committee. The committee, established by the HoR, had met with Belqasim Haftar on Monday to review the budget and development plan. They agreed to document observations from MPs across various electoral districts and stressed the importance of fair distribution of development throughout Libya. Earlier, on June 2, the HoR debated a proposed 69 billion Libyan dinar budget for the Reconstruction Fund, chaired by Belqasim Haftar, covering three years with 23 billion dinars allocated annually.
