Following Tahaad Pettiford's decision to withdraw from NBA draft consideration, all attention turns toward Johni Broome and where he ends up in this year's draft.
Broome continues to receive second-round draft status, with the most recent forecast coming from ESPN. ESPN's latest mock pairs Broome with the Washington Wizards at No. 40 overall, and he is the lone Tiger in this mock pieced together by Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo.
Broome worked out with several NBA franchises, including the Boston Celtics, Atlanta Hawks, and Golden State Warriors. However, the Wizards were not among those who met with the Auburn star during pre-draft workouts. However, trade rumors involving Jordan Poole could result in the Wizards taking on more talent through the draft, which is where Broome could come into play.
Broome said in a recent interview that he is willing to play for any team that takes a chance on him.
'I'm going to keep going, playing basketball and finding ways to win for my team and find ways to get it done," Broome said. "Whoever picks me will get a good player, a dog, somebody who's going to contribute to winning.'
Broome will learn his NBA draft fate next week as the NBA draft begins next Wednesday, June 25.

Durant, 36, has been on a steady decline since the 2021-22 season when he averaged 29.9 points per game for the Nets. As his numbers decreased gradually, his teams increasingly struggled to keep up with the competition, and it resulted in a shocking lack of playoff success over the past six years. Now, after an abysmal season in Phoenix, Durant finds himself on the trade block yet again for the second time in two years, but his situation is entirely different than before. Advertisement After 16 years in the NBA, Durant is at the end of his career, and he might be better fitted for a sidekick role rather than one as the leading star of a team. But regardless of where he goes or what role he takes, Kevin's arrival is sure to make things exciting for the team he joins, and it will surely help power an elite offense.
