Jessica Simpson Revealed Where She Stands With Ex Eric Johnson After Their Separation

Buzz Feed19-02-2025

Jessica Simpson is starting a new chapter.
In anticipation of the release of her new single "Use My Heart Against Me" from her EP Nashville Canyon, Jessica opened up about her relationship with Eric Johnson following their separation.
After 10 years of marriage, Jessica told People earlier this year that they had been "living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage."
The singer and former NFL player began dating in 2010 and were married four years later. They share three children, Maxwell "Maxi" Drew, 12, Ace Knute, 11, and Birdie Mae, 5.
"Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family," Jessica told People back in January.
On Feb. 19, Jessica shared with People how creating music in Nashville has helped her process the separation and rediscover her voice. "I've grown up so much. I can handle so much," she told the publication. "Maybe I'm just meant to love a lot of people in my life."
Regarding her relationship with Eric after their separation, Jessica remains optimistic. "I don't know why my heart gets tossed around but I'm one of the lucky ones," Jessica recollected. "At least I have my children and I still have Eric. He's still very much a part of my life and will always be."
According to People, Jessica and Eric continue to co-parent their three kids while she's creating her EP, which is described as "five soul and rockabilly infused songs."
"Discovering this music is something I did on my own," she added. "Thank God I had Nashville, it was just a way of me owning myself and declaring it."
From her pop music, like her second studio album Irresistible (2001), to the country sound of her sixth Do You Know (2008), Jessica's been in the game for a minute; she's come a very long way. "I am a woman now and I can do what I want and to have freedom in music — I think that's what you're going to feel in Nashville Canyon."

Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce have date night in NYC

The post Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce have date night in NYC appeared first on ClutchPoints. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce take date night to the Big Apple. On Friday (June 20), Swift and Kelce were seen exiting hand in hand out of the Italian restaurant Torrisi in New York City. According to footage captured by fans who were leaving a restaurant nearby, Kelce shook the hand of one of the staff members of the restaurant and followed behind Swift. After a quick exchange between the pair, Kelce looks for Swift's hand and leads her into the black SUV that was waiting for them. The two looked pretty casual as Swift wore a striped pleated mini skirt with a blue corset tank and white heels. She opted to let her hair down in NYC's recent heat and wore her signature bright red lipstick. As for Kelce, he wore an all-white outfit that consisted of a U.S. soccer shirt, white shorts, and crisp white Air Force 1s. Over the past few weeks, Kelce and Swift have been seen outside more for their date nights. They recently attended Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers. The Panthers later ended up winning the series in back-to-back years. A date night to watch the Panthers makes sense for the couple as throughout their relationship, which began in 2023, they have been at several sporting events together such as the US Open and of course Swift has attended several Chiefs games cheering the tight end on. They also have been spending time in Florida as Kelce is in a minicamp for the upcoming NFL season and is renting a luxurious $20 million Boca Raton mansion during his stay there. In addition to dinner dates, Kelce recently opened up about how they also love staying in for a movie night at home. On last week's episode of the New Heights podcast which he cohosts with his brother Jason Kelce, Travis shared that he is 'down to watch' the 1990 classic romance comedy film Pretty Woman. The three-time Super Bowl champion revealed that the movie starring acting powerhouses Julia Roberts and Richard Gere 'has been on [his] and Tay's movie list for a while.' Swift has been making the most of her time in Florida and even recently visited a children's hospital. While she was putting a smile on the faces of patients and staff members, the singer even made a sweet nod to Travis in a video shared on X. 'My boyfriend is training here, so I just thought I'd come and see how you're doing,' Swift told a patient during her visit to the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, Florida. The upcoming NFL season will kick off in September with the Chief's first game will be in Sao Paulo, Brazil against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 5. An insider revealed why Swift is so excited for this season. 'Not just because she loves supporting Travis, but because for the first full season since they started dating, she's not juggling a packed tour schedule,' the source told PEOPLE referring to Swift's record-breaking Eras Tour. 'This fall will be completely different,' the source continued. 'It's the first season where she's not constantly flying back and forth or working around an entire touring calendar.' ‘Melrose Place' star Courtney Thorne-Smith divorcing husband Roger Fishman after 18 years of marriage

Courtney Thorne-Smith is ending her marriage to husband Roger Fishman. The 'Melrose Place' actress, 57, filed for divorce from the talent agent after 18 years of marriage in Los Angeles Superior Court on June 17. In the documents, which were filed without a lawyer, Thorne-Smith cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for the split, according to TMZ. WireImage Thorne-Smith reportedly filed for joint legal and physical custody of the former couple's son Jacob Emerson, 17, and asked the court to terminate her and Fishman's rights to spousal support. The 'Ally McBeal' star also revealed in her filing that the exes have been separated since September 2021. Thorne-Smith married Fishman on New Year's Day in 2007. Their son was born in January 2008. The actress was previously married to geneticist Andrew Conrad from 2000 to 2001. She also dated her 'Melrose Place' co-star Andrew Shue in the early 1990s. Advertisement 6 Courtney Thorne-Smith in 1993. Getty Images In an interview with People last year, Thorne-Smith recalled being 'charmed' by Shue, 58, when they filmed the pilot of the soap opera. 'I did remember shooting with Andrew for the first time. The scene that I remember that we talked about that was so much fun was him dancing. When he's dancing — you can actually see it in my face — how charmed I am,' Thorne-Smith shared. 'I was being completely charmed by Andrew in that moment. It was so adorable.' Thorne-Smith reunited with Shue on an Aug. 2024 episode of her 'Still the Place' podcast, where she said that their breakup was 'shockingly not weird,' while Shue admitted that 'there was a little bit of time where it was tough.' 6 Courtney Thorne-Smith backstage at the 55th Annual Emmy Awards show in 2003. Getty Images The exes also reminisced on the 'no tongue' kissing rule for their characters that they set in place after their split. 'Our relationship, we helped carry each other through a very intense time,' Shue told Thorne-Smith. 'The show got a lot of attention. I know you had already been fairly well known, but we were dealing with a lot of, we'll call it Fox celebrity craziness.' 'And I remember just feeling safe knowing we were together guiding each other through it,' Shue added. Thorne-Smith and Shue starred in 'Melrose Place' with Heather Locklear, Thomas Calabro, Grant Show, Laura Leighton, Marcia Cross, Doug Savant and more.

Diary from Cannes: AI's impact on business, a stalled economy, and Disney's succession

As a journalist, you never quite know what you'll learn at a conference where top executives are floating around. Someone like me — the interested observer — is always paying attention to varying things on the ground: the watches execs are wearing (they say a lot), who's wearing health trackers (also says a lot), who's huddled in a corner talking shop, and what their body language is. And of course, what people are actually telling me. To that end, I return from a week at the Cannes Lions advertising and media industry conference. The best way I can describe this event is it's as if the World Economic Forum bought LiveNation and created a rebellious sister conference. By subscribing, you are agreeing to Yahoo's Terms and Privacy Policy This year, I saw and heard a bit of everything, including from NFL great Chad Johnson, who shared he lived in the Cincinnati Bengals' training facility for the first two years of his career to save money. I didn't expect to hear that. I also didn't expect to hear this from DJ Diplo: "I have sold my music catalog a few times. You can always sell and build more. I did a 75% sale like five years ago, and I already built another catalog that I want to maybe move again, because sometimes I'd rather have capital to invest in other things." Where is he putting that fresh capital to work? He said medical devices, fintech companies, and real estate. Suffice to say, this coming week I plan to weave more observations into my new show at Yahoo Finance called Opening Bid. I will debut the show live Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET in a fast-paced format. Excited to bring you the fire (i.e., stock analysis and big interviews). You can watch here or on our app, all major streaming platforms, and DirecTV. Have something you want me to discuss on Monday? Drop me a line today on X @BrianSozzi. In the meantime, here's a roundup of things that stood out to me from my chats on the beach. "Nothing is ever really off the table, and really, the mindset of what's possible is always encouraged." "What I would say there is what's important to us is that we are able to protect our users' privacy, their deletion rights, like we have policies that ensure that when users take down a post, the post is taken down. And so it's really important, and as we've said in our terms of service, that we have a conversation with folks who have access to our data because that's a commitment that we have in terms of our policies, and it's also to know how Reddit data is used." "If I were going to advise the new CEO of Disney, I would say stay close to Bob Iger for the first six months. Really take that apprenticeship to heart because Bob is an amazing CEO — very few like him. If you can just be at his side and look at the whole company ... but get close to Bob, sit by his side, and just learn how he does things." "Look, I'm a consummate optimist, and no matter how difficult it is out there, there are holidays that come. People want to be celebrating with their families. Santa comes every year." "I think it's harder than most people realize. And the interesting thing is, for the past five to 10 years, we have been putting them together — linear TV content creates the streaming content. Now all of that has changed." "I think people are being very intentional where they spend money. It's cyclical, right? So it happens, you know, things get better, and that comes back. What we have seen is that it happens every single time the same way." Brian Sozzi is Yahoo Finance's Executive Editor and a member of Yahoo Finance's editorial leadership team.
