‘Lolong: Pangil ng Maynila' ends with sacrifice, redemption, mystery

GMA Network13-06-2025

'Lolong: Pangil ng Maynila' bid goodbye to its viewers with a gripping and emotional finale that took fans through an intense rollercoaster of sacrifice, redemption, and new beginnings.
The final episode showed Donatella (Jean Garcia) ending the life of her own son Ivan (Martin Del Rosario), cementing her descent into madness and leading to her eventual confinement in a mental hospital, where she was last seen clinging to the belief that Ivan was still alive.
Meanwhile, Julio (John Arcilla), the story's antagonist-turned-hero made the ultimate sacrifice, giving his life to protect Lolong (Ruru Madrid).
As Lolong hovered between life and death, he had a heartfelt, dreamlike encounter with Julio, where the latter asked for forgiveness.
Lolong was briefly pronounced dead, leaving his loved ones devastated. But in true heroic fashion, he miraculously returned to life, gripping Elsie's (Shaira Diaz) hand as his eyes glowed a striking green.
The show did not end on just heavy emotions. The mood lightened with a joyful celebration for Butchoy and Mimay's birthday party, where Ayana (Rabiya Mateo) surprised everyone by showing up with cake and joining the festivities.
However, it seems like the story does not simply end there.
In a quiet yet symbolic scene, Lolong and Elsie introduced Butchoy and Mimay to Dakila, the enormous crocodile who has become both protector and friend. Initially frightened, the children quickly warmed up to the creature after learning he only eats fish, not humans.
Watching over Baby Julia at home was Lola Grasya (Tessie Tomas), who briefly turned to grab the baby's milk beside her.
When she looked back, she was stunned to see Julia's eyes glowing gold, a mysterious and unanswered tease that seemingly tells more has yet to be unveiled.
The cast of 'Lolong' tuned in together on the season finale with a viewing party.
In Lhar Santiago's report in '24 Oras,' Friday, Ruru said that he was taken over by mixed emotions.
'Siyempre nakakalungkot na hindi na kami araw-araw magkakasama pero masaya at grateful sa kung ano po 'yung nabuo ng samahan ng 'Lolong.' Masaya at grateful dahil lumaban hanggang dulo kaya thank you guys so much. Salamat po sa tiwala na muli pong mabuksan ang mundo po ni Lolong,' he said.

Ralph De Leon addresses ex-housemates' 'paasa' allegations regarding AZ Martinez

Ralph De Leon caught heat from the duo challengers over his closeness to AZ Martinez on Saturday's episode of "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition" The former housemates questioned his choosing of Will Ashley as his final duo when he nominated him before. Asked if he did not feel bad for AZ, who had also wanted to be his final duo, Ralph said that he developed a closeness with Will, and he did not "push the loveteam, hindi ko pinilit." Emilio Daez said, "Teka lang ha, lapit ka ng lapit sa kanya (AZ)." Kira Balinger jumped in, telling Ralph, "Stop using her, honestly, Ralph, ang kapal ng mukha mo." "Why do you keep going near her?" she added. "If you really have no intention of having anything to do with her, why do you keep going near her?" Other housemates chimed in and said he was "paasa." Ralph took the question in stride and said that he was "there for AZ." "I don't think you can blame me for genuinely caring for another person in this house," he said. "And that's the sole reason why I keep making it clear every single time that I do not want any feelings miscommunicated," he added. Dustin Yu and Bianca De Vera defend relationship from duo challengers: 'Totoo to'

Dustin Yu and Bianca De Vera defended their tandem from the 'Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition' duo challengers on Saturday's episode. During their Big Tapatan time, Dustin said that his bond with Bianca was unexpected. However, the duo challengers countered this. Kira Balinger said that Dustin used to always mention her name, whereas AC Bonifacio said that he asked every girl in the house if they were single. Dustin answered that Kira is 'girlfriend material' physically. Kira then asked, 'So if 'di ko naging ka-duo si Josh [Ford], what would you do?' 'To be honest Kira, hindi kita nakikitang magiging duo ko nung mga araw na 'yun. Honestly, 'till lumabas ka, hindi naman talaga tayo naging close so 'di kita pipiliin,' Dustin replied. Dustin then told the duo challengers, 'Sa lahat ng dito, wala 'kong idea diyan sa loveteam loveteam na 'yan.' Kira asked, 'So, ano 'to?' Dustin quickly answered, 'Totoo. Totoo 'to, Kira. Alam mo 'yan.' Kira asked why Dustin chose Bianca to be his final duo if it wasn't for the loveteam. 'Kasi gusto ko siya,' Dustin said. 'Hindi namin kailangan i-explain kung ano 'yung meron sa 'min.' Kira said that should their relationship be true, she asked the duo why they were so toxic, "Ang daming selos selos na nangyayari, hindi pa naman kayo. Don't you get how that's affecting the other housemates? Ramdam nila 'yan. Selos selos, 'di naman kayo,' Kira said. Bianca then admitted that she was 'scared na nagiging toxic na' especially since they aren't in a relationship yet, and acknowledged the jealousy they felt. 'Merong times na sobrang babaw ng mga pinagaawayan namin and yes, may mga tasks na nadala kayong lahat and for that, we're really, really sorry, Ate Klang, we're really, really sorry,' Bianca said. 'But just like with any type of friendship or relationship, we believe that from those obstacles, we've grown. We've grown a lot,' the actress added. 'With the toxic part, I feel like I did, I thought we were. Pero, feeling ko hindi naman pala. I think it was just a vital part of what we had to go through inside our journey in this house.' ‘Mga Batang Riles' ends chapter with justice served and brighter tomorrows

'Mga Batang Riles' served a gripping finale that delivered a rollercoaster of emotions as it closed the chapter on the boys' tumultuous journey. The episode opened in the heat of chaos as the boys rushed to save Kidlat (Miguel Tanfelix), who was inside a burning building. In a dramatic turn, it was his biological father, Rendon (Jay Manalo), who came to his rescue. Kidlat managed to escape and was tearfully reunited with his mother, Maying (Diana Zubiri), and his found family, Dagul (Anton Vinzon), Kulot (Kokoy de Santos), and Sig (Raheel Bhyria). Inside the flames, Rendon made the ultimate sacrifice, choosing to stay with Matos (Bruce Roeland) in their final moments. Kidlat and the others attempted to save them, only to witness the building collapse before their eyes. Following the tragedy, a more emotional reunion unfolded between Dagul and Dolor (Ynez Veneracion), who, for the first time, showed genuine care and regret for how she had treated him. The two embraced, symbolizing healing after years of distance. As the flames of the past settled, Kidlat wrestled with his emotions over Matos' death, once a friend, then a foe, and Rendon, the father who saved him despite their bitter history. Maying reminded him of the strength he showed. The residents of Sitio Liwanag, wounded but unbroken, gathered with newfound hope and pledged to start anew. The final act brought long-awaited justice as Argus (Jeric Raval) was captured and exposed Scarlett (Desiree Del Valle) as the mastermind behind the arson that devastated Sitio Liwanag. With this revelation, the people finally got the justice they deserved. The young heroes also took their first steps into new lives: Dagul became a police officer, Kulot an engineer, and Sig, now with Lady, who successfully received a transplant, looked forward to the future. Kidlat became a martial arts teacher, continuing to inspire strength and discipline in others. Mutya (Zephanie), who pursued her dream of becoming a nurse, remained by Kidlat's side as his partner. In a fitting final scene, the boys were seen chasing after a thief, symbolizing their undying courage and readiness to stand up for what is right. —Carby Rose Basina/CDC, GMA Integrated News
