South African activists detained in Egypt before Gaza march
The PAGAD delegation to Egypt was detained for 11 hours in Cairo, Egypt.

The PAGAD (People Against Gangsterism and Drugs) delegate was detained for 11 hours and were at risk of deportation as they were on the journey to the Global March to Gaza.
They are part of the thousands of activists who travelled to Egypt's Rafah Border Crossing to the strip on Friday to demand the entry of humanitarian aid.
Among those detained was National Coordinator Haroon Orrie and six others.
PAGAD's spokesperson, Cassiem Parker, said: 'The seven went through normal immigration procedure and then were told that they were being detained and might be deported.
'Their luggage was taken from them and was kept in a holding area from 3am to 2pm Egypt time.
'They were kept with several hundred other people from other countries coming into Cairo. At 2pm, they were told that they could continue but were not given any reason for their detention.
'They have subsequently said there are reports of raids on hotels, etc.'

The African National Congress (ANC) regional spokesperson, Muhammad Khalid Sayed, said they note the information around the PAGAD delegation.
'First, we want to commend them for embarking on this global march to Gaza. It is in line with the South African stance of solidarity with the people of Palestine.
"But we are extremely concerned with the news that has come to us, and we hope that our authorities in Egypt make every effort to assist in having this particular matter resolved.'
GOOD Secretary-General Brett Herron said: 'The GOOD Party condemns the detention of members of the South African-based organisation People Against Gangsterism and Drugs (PAGAD) by Egyptian authorities, reportedly ahead of their planned participation in the Global March to Gaza.
'The delegation, whose mission was one of solidarity and peace, is now being threatened with deportation. This action is a grave violation of their rights and part of a disturbing pattern of silencing international civil society voices standing up for the people of Gaza.
'At the same time, observers and political figures are being welcomed with open arms on highly curated, one-sided visits to Israel, including MPs from South Africa. These delegations meet freely with Israeli officials while ignoring the urgent calls of Palestinians for justice, an end to the occupation, and the lifting of the brutal siege.
'We cannot ignore the hypocrisy that those attempting to bear witness to suffering and express solidarity with a besieged population are blocked, detained, or deported, while those cosying up to the occupying power face no such barriers.
'This dangerous double standard speaks volumes. It reveals how the principles of free movement, human rights, and international solidarity are selectively applied depending on who you support.'

Duduzile claps back at Floyd Shivambu's 'takes drugs' comments
Duduzile Zuma-Samudla has finally responded to shady comments made by fellow MK Party MP, Floyd Shivambu. In a press briefing on Thursday, 19 June, the former secretary general accused his party nemesis of 'taking drugs'. Floyd was effectively demoted after the party condemned his visit to the wanted Malawian preacher, Shepard Bushiri, last month. On her Instagram Story, Duduzile shared a clip of herself laughing with EFF President Julius Malema. Aserie Ndlovu murder case postponed as fifth suspect joins
The murder case was postponed after the newly-arrested fifth suspect opted to appoint a private lawyer. Picture: Facebook/Sbusiso Aserie Ndlovu The case of the five men charged in connection with the disappearance and murder of journalist Aserie Ndlovu and his partner, Zodwa Mdluli, has been postponed to 4 July. The case was postponed to allow the fifth suspect, Thabang Isaac Hlophe, to secure legal representation after joining the other four. Father Samuel Mogowe, Lucky Sikhosana, David Madisha, and Sello Skhalo Uoane previously abandoned their bail applications. Court appearance for formal joinder The five accused, who appeared in the KwaMhlanga Magistrate's Court in Mpumalanga on Friday, are facing two counts of kidnapping and murder each. National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) regional spokesperson Monica Nyuswa said Friday's court appearance was for the formal joinder of Hlophe to the matter and a possible bail application on his behalf. 'However, the application did not proceed as Hlophe opted to appoint a private attorney to represent him,' Nyuswa said. All suspects have been remanded in custody. 'The [NPA] condemns acts of violent crime and remains resolute in pursuing justice for victims,' Nyuswa said. The accused were arrested on different occasions during a police intelligence-driven operation. The first suspect arrested was the last to be in the company of the missing couple. 'The second, third and fourth suspects that have been arrested were found with different vehicle parts believed to be those of the missing journalist,' police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said shortly after the arrests. 'One of those arrested is said to be a mechanic who builds and fixes cars in the KwaMhlanga area. Two VW Citi Golfs that were found in possession of the suspects have been seized,' Mathe added. Remains and DNA confirmation Skeletal remains with gunshot wounds, believed to be of the missing couple, were discovered in Rust de Winter along the Limpopo-Gauteng border in May after the suspects identified the location. Earlier this month, police confirmed that DNA analysis positively linked the remains to Ndlovu and Mdluli. 'The human remains were analysed and matched with the reference sample of the biological relatives of the deceased. A positive DNA match thus confirms that the discovered remains are those of the missing couple,' Mathe said at the time.
