At the heart of the GA-V01 concept is the story of the father of G-SHOCK, Mr. Kikuo Ibe, who set out to create an unbreakable watch, tirelessly testing the prototype by dropping it from the lab window at the Hamura R&D laboratory.
This legendary act led to the birth of the first-ever G-SHOCK in 1983, along with the enduring legacy of his 'Never Give Up' spirit. That same determination continues to inspire the team, including GA-V01's designer, Mr. Tomohiro Hamaue, who brings it to life with his interpretation of G-SHOCK's core identities – toughness and its status as the one and only unbreakable watch.
Brand New Construction & Design
The GA-V01 is a bold new take from G-SHOCK, featuring a fresh, futuristic design and construction. It has a sleek, organic shape with a fully integrated bezel and strap, plus sharp, powerful details like bumper-style indexes and side buttons.
The large dial combines analogue and digital displays with a layered metallic look, openwork elements, and a full-screen LCD under a domed glass. Inspired by Y3K aesthetics, the butterfly-shaped dial with magnetic hands gives it a tech-forward edge, while exposed hour markers and the seamless strap-head design break away from traditional watch styles to express a bold, free-spirited vision of the future.
At the core of the GA-V01 lies the revolutionary Shock Release Hand, a breakthrough technology that employs a magnetic holding structure. Instead of being fixed directly to the shaft, the minute hand is secured using magnetic force, allowing it to absorb and dissipate impact effectively. G-SHOCK & Swatch's New Divers Drops Are Totally Aquaman's Drip!

G-SHOCK MRGBF1000 'Goliath Frogman' G-SHOCK has introduced the MRGBF1000, a high-end, full-metal G-SHOCK MR-G watch made for the ocean. The FROGMAN family of diver watches, which is renowned for its ISO 200-meter water resistance, now includes this titanium armoured watch. The Conraua goliath, the largest frog in the world, serves as the model's inspiration, hence the nickname 'Goliath Frogman.' It transforms the amphibian's imposing size and organic colours into an eye-catching pattern. This watch's exterior features an intricate asymmetrical design that was painstakingly created using titanium parts that were individually polished and finished.
