Ex-con on parole for Manhattan tracks shove arrested in new subway attack
An ex-con out on parole for shoving a transgender woman onto Manhattan subway tracks a decade ago has now been arrested for assaulting a straphanger with a metal rod, police said Monday.
Rolan Reid confronted a 28-year-old stranger, asking her, 'Where's my MetroCard?' in the 14th St./Sixth Ave. station about 4:10 p.m. Sunday, cops said. He then threw the rod at her, police said.
The victim suffered a puncture wound on her left forearm and was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
Reid, 42, was arrested for felony assault and weapon possession.
On June 1, 2015, Reid threw garbage at a 28-year-old transgender woman before shoving her onto the tracks at the Bleecker St. subway stop, police said.
'What are you looking at?' Reid demanded of that victim as the two stood on the downtown 6 train platform, police said at the time. Reid then attacked the victim.
The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where she was treated and released, police said.
Reid was convicted of attempted murder and in December 2023 was conditionally released on parole after serving nearly seven years in prison, records show.

Ex-MSNBC host Joy Reid is accusing the 'mainstream media' of 'helping' Donald Trump spread his narrative about what's happening in Los Angeles during the protests against his ICE raids. Not too long after losing her coveted primetime spot on MSNBC in February, Reid wrote in her 'A Daily Reid' Substack newsletter on Wednesday that 'the mainstream media at this point, is participating in selling a lie: that Los Angeles is so out of control, it's plausible that Trump would send in the military as an occupying stabilizing force.' The new podcast host said she and members of her 'Joy Reid Show' staff have been in L.A. since last Thursday, where she's gotten a different picture of the city than what's been portrayed. 'The lies the regime is telling about Los Angeles are easy to disprove. You just have to go to Los Angeles,' she wrote. 'Starting on Thursday, we were all over the city—from West Hollywood to downtown, including city hall.' All the former TV host and her team saw on the ground in L.A. was ICE 'terrorizing randomly selected brown people all over the state and making racial profiling great again,' she wrote, in order to meet 'MAGA Nosferatu's 3,000 brown person a day kidnap quota.' On Sunday, 'our photographer ventured into the belly of the downtown protests that followed day three of random, military-style ICE raids that took place all over Los Angeles County,' she wrote of the 'warlike operation' that made stops at unassuming places one normally wouldn't hope to find the violent criminals Trump said his raids would prioritize. The president deployed about 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 active-duty Marines to quell protests against the expansive ICE raids in the city over the weekend, even though mayor Karen Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom insisted they were under control until the armed forces incited violence. Those reports have not deterred the president from escalating the White House's response to demonstrators, who he's called 'animals' and a 'foreign enemy.' 'Trump, Bondi, Hegseth,' and 'the puppy killer' Kristi Noem 'have created a fake, dystopian version of Los Angeles as a cheap excuse to launch a military occupation of California,' Reid went on, and are now threatening to 'use the Insurrection Act to put the whole country under martial law.' Helping his cause is 'dramatic media coverage,' Reid wrote, linking subscribers to CNN's dystopyian reports from on the ground. 'Mainstream journalists are even going so far as to casually inquire about the insurrection act,' she continued, 'which gives Pam Bondi the chance to do her Leni Riefenstahl act' in her comments to press Wednesday morning. Reid also quoted from Mayor Bass' comments to local outlet NBC4 on Tuesday, that 'those of us in Los Angeles understand that the unrest that has happened are a few blocks within the downtown area. It is not all of downtown, and it is not all of the city. Unfortunately, the visuals make it seem as though our entire city is in flames, and it is not the case at all.' L.A. is a 'perfectly normal, quiet city almost everywhere,' Reid concluded—and the 'the businesses Pam Bondi pretends to care about? The risk to them is not their own dish washers, cooks, clerks and construction workers. It's the Trump regime, that keeps kidnapping their employees. Maybe they should stop doing that. Ryan Lochte Could Be Forced Out Of His Florida Home Amid His Divorce From Estranged Wife
The divorce proceedings for Ryan Lochte and his estranged wife, Kayla Reid, have taken a dark turn since the initial news of their separation became public. Now, in a new filing, Reid is demanding sole use of one of their Florida homes, which the Olympic swimmer has pushed back on. In the legal documents, Reid also requested alimony, child support, and primary custody of their three children: Caiden, Liv, and Georgia. According to a report from Us Weekly, Reid, who filed for divorce from the Olympic Gold Medalist in March 2025, recently asked the court to grant her exclusive use of their home in Terrace, Florida. The report explains that Reid needs "the exclusive use of this home and the contents thereof, both now and in the future, for herself and the minor children." As of now, Lochte is reportedly residing at another home worth nearly $450,000, and has been doing so since March of this year. Reid's requests in the filing didn't stop there, though. Us Weekly also reports that the former Playboy Playmate claims Lochte took specific joint assets and income during their marriage and purchased other assets, some of which he put in his name. '[Those] assets are presently being held by [Ryan] in trust for and for all the benefit of [Kayla], and the court should award to [Kayla] her full interest in said assets,' her filing read. Additionally, Reid asked the court for a portion of the money from Lochte's businesses, including Lochte Enterprises LLC and Legendaryswimming LLC, claiming she had contributed significant time and effort to help improve these companies. '[Kayla] makes a claim for equitable distribution of the corporate defendant because she has been of great assistance of [Ryan], only in the marital business but also in terms of providing a home environment which supported [Ryan's] needs in every respect," the filing read. Per Us Weekly, Reid stated that the "marriage of the parties is irretrievably broken" in her divorce filing. The Florida-based real estate agent also stated that she was the primary caretaker of their three children before requesting the court grant her "sole parental responsibility." The 33-year-old also said that she's unable to support their children without Lochte's help and requested that the court award her child support and alimony, adding that she needs 'rehabilitative alimony to assist her financially while acquiring sufficient education, retraining, developing skill and/or improving her employment and income.' Reid's petition also requests that Lochte pay her attorney's fees. In his response, Lochte acknowledged that they own a Florida home together; however, he did not support her request to be granted exclusive use of the estate. He also denied the mother of three's claims about her participation in one of his businesses. The Olympian filed a counter-petition to Reid's divorce filing, too, stating in his documents that their official date of separation was April 2025. Lochte, 40, also requested that the court establish a parenting plan, determine child support, and divide their shared assets. According to a previous report from The Blast, Reid opened up about filing for divorce from Lochte in an Instagram post, where she described the decision to end her marriage as one of the most challenging she's ever had to make. "Earlier this year, I made the hard decision to end my marriage after deep prayer and reflection," Reid wrote online. "I hold marriage in the highest regard, so this has been one of the most painful, revealing, and challenging seasons of my life. I've been hesitant to share until I could do so from a place of healing — not from fresh, open wounds." She continued, "Sometimes we face trials we didn't choose or see coming. And in those moments, we're forced to make the hardest decisions to protect our peace, our children, and our future. I've come to the understanding that staying isn't always the most loving decision someone can make. For me, leaving was an act of love — for those around me and for myself." Lochte also addressed the news in a separate post, where he said divorcing was the "right step toward peace and well-being for us both." "I remain committed to healing, growth, and co-parenting with care and respect as we move forward separately," he finished.

North Carolina trio steals $32K worth of lawnmowers from Eureka Dicky Bubb
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Two men and a woman from North Carolina have been charged for allegedly stealing six lawnmowers from a Dicky Bubb Farm and Home in Eureka, Missouri. According to court documents, Devon Reid, 27; Roberts Knotts, 36; and Angel Williams, 29, stole $34,244 worth of lawnmowers from Dicky Bubb, located at 100 Hilltop Village Center, on April 11. The store manager told police the zero turn riding lawnmowers had been stolen in the early hours of the morning after watching surveillance video of Reid and Knotts allegedly cutting the lawnmowers loose and taking them between 2:40 and 3:30 a.m. 8-year-old injured in Baden shooting; 1 man dead Court documents said they were accompanied by Williams earlier in the day around 5 p.m. at the same store to purchase multiple chainsaws and one zero-turn lawn mower. Surveillance video showed the three suspects verbally giving the clerk multiple credit card numbers to purchase the items; some of the cards were declined. The Eureka Police Department reports two credit cards were fraudulently used to purchase the items, totaling nearly $8,000. After the transaction, the three suspects were seen leaving the store in a Chevy Silverado pickup truck, which was the same vehicle used in the early hours of April 11 to steal the additional lawnmowers. A large U-Haul was also seen attached to the Chevy truck, which police said was rented in Fenton, Missouri. Police reviewed surveillance video from the U-Haul that confirmed it was Reid and Knotts seen at Dicky Bubb's the next morning. The Chevy and U-Haul were later tracked arriving in Gastonia, North Carolina, a few days later. The Gastonia Police Department contacted Williams at her home, where the same U-Haul trailer was found. Police contacted a victim who purchased one of the stolen lawnmowers and said the transaction took place at William's home. Reid, Knotts, and Williams have all been charged with one count of stealing $25,000 or more and two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card. All three suspects are still at large.
