Oasis Liam and Noel Gallagher snapped together for unexpected TV announcement as fans go wild
It's the first time the Gallagher brothers have been pictured together since announcing their Oasis Live '25 reunion tour
Oasis made an unexpected television announcement to fans during a Channel 4 ad-break on Thursday evening. Liam and Noel Gallagher were snapped together for the first time since they announced their highly anticipated reunion tour last year.
Oasis are set to embark on their first tour in 16 years later this summer. Last August, the brothers sent fans into a frenzy as they confirmed they would be reuniting for Oasis Live '25. Yesterday, Adidas teased on X that "something is coming".
The iconic sportswear brand shared a teaser clip which featured snapshots of archived footage from Oasis gigs. Fans also spied one of the duo wearing an Adidas leather jacket which had the logo "live '25' on the back and the phrase "The band with the 3 stripes".
The brand then released an 'adidas Originals X Oasis' video which aired during the ad-break of Taskmaster on Channel 4 at 9pm. The video announced the band's collaboration with Adidas ahead of their world tour with fans able to snatch up exclusive Oasis merch, including tracksuits, jerseys, bucket hats and coach jackets, the Liverpool Echo reports.
The clip was captioned: "The brand. The band. The legacy lives on. After 30 years of shared history, Adidas Originals and Oasis join forces to celebrate an undisputed connection rooted in music, fashion and British identity.
"Original Forever is more than a campaign. It's a nod to a moment, a movement and a time that defined it all. With the return of the band for Live 25', the collaboration brings a new era of looks into the now, reworking era-defining silhouettes with a modern edge.
"From Firebird tracksuits to classic jerseys and jackets, the Live 25' collection honours the past while living in the present. This film captures a journey from the city streets to stadiums, 90s anthems to the now. It's a tribute to two brothers, two icons, one band, and a brand that's been with them every step of the way."
Excited fans raced to the comments after the announcement was uploaded on X as one exclaimed: "The boys are back, let's go!" A second enthusiastic user wrote: "Wow. Just wow."
Meanwhile a third chimed in: "Beautifully done.. Oasis forever." A fourth was left moved by the announcement as they penned: "Who got goosebumps while watching?"
Oasis will play Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium for three dates on Friday, August 8, Saturday, August 9 and Tuesday, August 12.
The band will also perform in Cardiff, Manchester, London and Dublin this summer and have confirmed shows outside of Europe too in Toronto, Chicago, East Rutherford, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne, Sydney, Buenos Aires, Santiago and São Paulo.
Their upcoming gigs will be the first time Oasis have played since their August 2009 performance at V Festival in Staffordshire.
Noel famously quit later that month after a back-stage fight broke out between the brothers before they were due to go on stage in Paris.
Both Liam and Noel have had success with their solo careers since the band split in 2009 with ten UK number 1 albums between them as well as countless festival headline sets and stadium and arena shows.

Suchitra Krishnamoorthi has now removed her social media post calling for British man Vishwash Ramesh to receive "some serious punishment" after she claimed he had lied. In her now deleted post on X she said: 'So this #vishwaskumarramesh lied about bng [sic] a passenger on the plane & the only survivor? This is seriously weird. Didn't his family in the UK corroborate his story? 'What about his brother's funeral that he was seen giving kandha to? Deserve not only some serious punishment but some mental asylum time if this is true uff.' The Bollywood actress caused fury with her comments, with many calling for her to explain her post. She later deleted it and posted an apology in its place. The apology read: 'Took out my last tweet on the air india crash survivor. Seems to be false news circulated for God knows what reason. My apologies.' The 40-year-old Brit had been on Air India flight 171 bound for London Gatwick with his brother when it came down moments after take off, killing everyone on board, except him. He has since spoken of his "guilt" for surviving. Mr Ramesh has told friends he wishes he "was not alive" and believes his brother could have survived. His brother Ajay was on the other side of the doomed Boeing 787 Dreamliner when it crashed, while Mr Ramesh escaped with cuts, scrapes and bruises after he crawled free from the wreckage via a hole in the fuselage. He believes he and Ajay might have both survived if he hadn't fought to ensure they were sat together at the time. The dad-of-one said he had tried to get two seats together, but the other he was hoping to get was already taken. He said: "If we had been sat together we both might have survived. I tried to get two seats together but someone had already got one. Me and Ajay would have been sitting together. 'But I lost my brother in front of my eyes. So now I am constantly thinking 'Why can't I save my brother?' It's a miracle I survived. "I am okay physically but I feel terrible that I could not save Ajay.' The devastated dad-of-one added: "I wish I was not alive."

The former professional dancer, 58, is set to feature on the celebrity edition of Channel 4's popular programme, which first aired in 2013, with his fellow Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood. Before his appearance on the show tonight (June 20), Anton joined This Morning's Friday episode, chatting with presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, reports Edinburgh Live. Anton began by announcing, "Gogglebox tonight with Craig Revel Horwood." Alison expressed her enthusiasm for their upcoming stint, responding, "Brilliant. That's going to be great." However, the Strictly Judge let slip a "spoiler" as he disclosed: "Can I say this out loud? We had to talk about Love Island for a bit. We watched a bit of Love Island. Can I say that? Is that a spoiler?". (Image: ITV) Alison suggested, "You probably did, and you're probably going to get in trouble for this." Anton interjected: "I'm probably going to get in trouble. Apologies to Channel 4," prompting Alison to quip, "Thank you for the exclusive." Anton added: "We had a little bit of that (Love Island) and other stuff." Dermot was curious about which residence they chose for filming. Yet, revealing another behind-the-scenes "secret," Anton confessed: "Oh, right, no, we went to a place. I thought.." Before he could complete his thought, Alison chimed in with: "So you had a pretend one (house)." To which Anton agreed: "Yeah." The studio erupted in laughter as Dermot concluded the segment imitating the Gogglebox narrator. (Image: Strictly Come Dancing Live Instagram) The blockbuster spin-off will feature Anton and Craig sharing their humorous take on the week's television highlights comfortably from their couches. They are set to grace Celebrity Gogglebox next to the recent addition Vernon Kay, who is Tess Daly's husband and a fellow Strictly veteran. Anton couldn't contain his enthusiasm, saying: "I'm super excited to be swapping the judges' chair for a comfy sofa! Sitting down with my dear friend and fellow Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood to enjoy a bit of telly on this new series of Gogglebox."
