‘We no longer have any association with Anmol Bishnoi: fresh audio shows rift between Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar

Indian Express11 hours ago

A purported audio clip has further revealed a rift between two of India's most notorious gangsters — Lawrence Bishnoi, who is lodged in Gujarat's Sabarmati Jail, and his once-close aide Goldy Brar.
Sources recently told The Indian Express that Central intelligence agencies and state police have said Bishnoi and Brar have parted ways after Bishnoi got upset with Brar and Azerbaijan-based gangster Rohit Godara over their handling of his brother Anmol's case in the US.
'Central intelligence agencies received information that Brar and Godara did not help Anmol file the required bail bond. Anmol was later released but with an ankle bracelet tracker,' a source said.
Lawrence Bishnoi's brother was arrested by US immigration authorities in November last year for allegedly travelling with fake documents.

The latest clip, purportedly released by Goldy Brar and going viral on social media, further suggests the two are no longer on the same page, despite having previously claimed responsibility for the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
The Punjab Police said they are looking into the audio's authenticity. 'Goldy Brar is booked in several terror-related cases. We are examining the audio. But it won't matter what he says. Law will take its own course,' said a Punjab Police officer.
'Misinformation is being spread on social media'
In the 2-minute 40-second audio, Goldy Brar is allegedly heard claiming responsibility for a June 17 shooting incident in Ganganagar, Rajasthan. The target, Ashish Gupta, was shot in the leg.
'The attack on Ashish Gupta in Ganganagar was planned by me and Rohit Godara. He was not meant to be killed — only taught a lesson. That's why we shot him in the leg. If he doesn't understand this time, next time he'll be shot in the head. No issue,' Brar can be heard saying.
Brar also claims that 'misinformation' is being spread on social media, where the attack was allegedly claimed in the name of Anmol Bishnoi, Lawrence Bishnoi's brother. 'We no longer have any association with Anmol Bishnoi. All our brothers have been clearly informed about this,' Brar says.
'Never acted against the nation'
Goldy Brar also denies allegations of having any links with Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Pakistan's intelligence agency. 'I urge the media and administration to confirm facts before labelling someone a patriot or a traitor. We have never acted against the nation,' he can be heard saying in the clip.
Lawrence Bishnoi had made similar claims in an interview aired just before Sidhu Moosewala's first death anniversary in March 2023. 'I am not anti-national. I am a nationalist. I am against Khalistan. I am against Pakistan,' Bishnoi had said.

Location unknown
While Goldy Brar's current location remains unclear, security agencies say he fled to the US after Moosewala's murder, even as some reports claimed he could be in Canada.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann once claimed that Brar had been arrested in the US, but no official confirmation followed.
In September 2022, the Centre and Punjab authorities claimed that Lawrence Bishnoi's brother, Anmol Bishnoi, had been detained in Kenya. However, in April 2023, videos surfaced on social media showing Anmol dancing at a wedding event in the US, raising suspicions that Brar had arranged shelter for him.
In November 2024, again, there were unconfirmed reports that Anmol Bishnoi was arrested for illegal stay in the US.
So far, neither the US nor Canadian authorities have made any official statement on Goldy Brar.
The apparent fallout between Brar and the Bishnoi, combined with the denial of ISI links, has added a new dimension to the ongoing gang conflict.

Surat trader defrauded of 57L by employees in fake billing scam

Surat: In a major case of internal fraud, a Surat-based trader dealing in children's play equipment was defrauded of Rs 57 lakh by a group of 15 people, including seven of his own employees. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The accused allegedly created fake quotations under the company's name and sold goods without the owner's knowledge, siphoning off large sums over nearly a year. The complaint was filed by Prayag Bhimani, owner of Om Enterprise, a firm based in Marutidham Society, Sarthana, which deals in children's play equipment, gym setups, benches, and sports gear. The firm primarily designs products and outsources manufacturing based on client orders. According to Bhimani, the fraud began after he temporarily handed over business responsibilities to his staff in 2020 due to his father's critical illness during the pandemic. The scam came to light in Dec 2024, when a manager from the 'Rang – The Sky City' project contacted Bhimani about a bill issued by Dhingli Enterprise — a firm unknown to him — instead of a quotation from Om Enterprise. Upon inquiry, Bhimani learned that the firm had been secretly floated by one of his salesmen, Mayank Umreliya, in collaboration with other employees: Hiren Desai and Mitul Jiyani. Bhimani uncovered that his employees had been duping him since 2023. They sent official quotations under the Om Enterprise name, but supplied goods without his approval. In some cases, they stole goods worth Rs 4.97 lakh from the warehouse; in others, they sold poor-quality products procured cheaply from outside vendors. They allegedly colluded with third-party firms to create fake and forged invoices. Among those named in the complaint are Sagar Tilala, Santur Tilala, Prince Pipaliya, Jignesh Kava, Mahesh Ahir, Bhavik Kanani, Kaushal Radadiya, Kinjal Nathani, Kishan Radadiya,Ankit Desai, Hitesh Desai, and Mukesh Makwana — many of whom are proprietors of other firms who either supplied fake bills or accepted illicit transactions. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The accused also reportedly leaked confidential business data to outside vendors, causing further financial and operational damage. In response, Sarthana police have registered cases under various sections related to theft, cheating, and forgery and invoked the Information Technology Act for data theft. An investigation is underway.

Now, Nagpur cops to unleash bulldozers on houses of drug lords

Nagpur: City Police Commissioner Ravinder Singal on Friday vowed to unleash bulldozers on illegal properties owned by drug lords as part of the intensified anti-narcotics campaign — Operation Thunder. This first of its kind plan against drug kingpins follows his earlier actions on March 17, when the house of the alleged Nagpur riots mastermind Fahim Khan was demolished, along with parts of unauthorized constructions linked to another rioter, Yusuf Shaikh. Top 50 members of drug cartels are on the police radar. While these demolitions were hailed in some quarters, the High Court labeled them as high-handed, prompting police to adopt a more cautious and legally sound approach in future. Singal has mobilized resources to identify and seize properties, assets, and wealth linked to drug lords involved in interstate narcotics networks. "We will proceed legally to raze illegal constructions and properties of drug lords to shatter their confidence," he said. Singal declared, emphasizing that police are working closely with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to gather details of benami properties and unauthorized establishments. He added, "Their bank accounts will be frozen, and all assets will come under scrutiny." Operation Thunder, launched as a cornerstone of the Drug-Free Nagpur campaign, coincides with International Anti-Narcotics Week, observed from June 20 to 26. Nagpur Police's aggressive stance extends beyond property demolitions. Singal has taken a firm stand on vehicles used in drug trafficking , stating, "Vehicles facilitating the drug trade will remain in our custody as part of legal actions." The policy aims to disrupt the logistics of drug networks. Also, police have ramped up surveillance on transport systems, including buses and railways, leading to successful busts of Mumbai-based drug syndicates. Sources revealed that while police previously targeted properties of top gangsters in the city, delays from civic authorities hindered swift action. Singal urged citizens to report suspicious activities, assuring confidentiality. "Citizens are our eyes and ears," he said, crediting tip-offs for Operation Thunder's success. The top cop has also issued a stern warning to associates of drug lords, stating, "Friends, aides, and supporters sheltering these criminals will face strict action."
