"Supernatural" stars Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins Reunite with Jensen Ackles on "The Boys" Final Season
Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins have joined the fifth and final season of 'The Boys' as guest stars, reuniting with their fellow 'Supernatural' alum, Jensen Ackles.
Details on their roles are being kept under wraps.
'The Boys' creator Eric Kripke has long expressed a desire to cast Padalecki on the satirical superhero drama, said last year, 'I feel like I have to complete my game of 'Supernatural' Pokémon and I have my one big one — very big one — left to catch.' He later told Variety he was talking to Padalecki about a role on the final season, saying, 'I love him and you try to work with people that you love.'
In addition to Ackles, who plays Soldier Boy, 'The Boys' has also featured 'Supernatural' actors Jim Beaver (playing Robert Singer), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (playing Joe Kessler), and Rob Benedict (playing Splinter).
Padalecki starred alongside Ackles on the CW sci-fi drama for 15 seasons, from its debut on what was then the WB in 2005 through its series finale in 2020. Collins also starred on 'Supernatural' for 12 seasons, playing Castiel and eight other roles.
'The Boys' is currently in production on its fifth and final season. It stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Nathan Mitchell, Chace Crawford, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Giancarlo Esposito.
The college-set spinoff 'Gen V' debuted in 2023 and was renewed for a second season. There was also an adult animated spinoff titled 'The Boys Presents: Diabolical' and the upcoming show 'Vought Rising' starring Padalecki.

Eric Dane Walks First Red Carpet Since ALS Diagnosis, Vows to Keep Acting: "It Always Feels Great to Be on Set"
Yara Sameh Eric Dane arrived at Amazon MGM's premiere of 'Countdown' in Los Angeles on Wednesday, marking his first red carpet appearance since announcing that he had been diagnosed with ALS. 'I feel good,' Dane told Variety. 'It's nice to be here with everybody and see the hours and hours of work that we put into this come alive on screen.' Dane joined his 'Countdown' co-stars Jensen Ackles, Jessica Camacho, Elliot Knight, Violett Beane, and Uli Latukefu, along with series creator and executive producer Derek Haas, for the premiere at the Harmony Gold Theater. The actor is also preparing for HBO's 'Euphoria,' returning for the drama series' long-awaited third season. While Dane hasn't shot any scenes yet, he affirmed that production is underway. 'You're going to get more of the same, which I think, for that show, is a good thing,' Dane said about the coming episodes. 'We're moving right along. I don't know exactly what it is I'm doing, per se, but I trust [creator] Sam Levinson with every fiber of my being.' As for other projects on the horizon, Dane said he was determined to keep acting even with his diagnosis: 'It always feels great to be on a set. It's great to be employed. I love what I give. I'm going to keep doing it.' The evening marked Dane's first public outing since the broadcast of his emotional ' Good Morning America ' interview with Diane Sawyer in which he revealed he now only has 'one functioning arm.' 'My left side is functioning, my right side has completely stopped working,' he noted, adding that his left arm has been getting weaker as well. 'I feel like maybe a couple more months and I won't have my left hand either. It's sobering.' The 52-year-old 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Euphoria' star was diagnosed in April. He first started having symptoms a year and a half ago when he began to experience weakness in his right hand. ALS is a fatal, progressive, degenerative disease that breaks down the nerves in the body, weakening muscles and causing eventual paralysis, impacting patients' ability to breathe, speak, and move. There is currently no cure. Dane has affirmed that he wants to continue with his career: 'I am ready and willing to do just about anything, but I have limitations that I understand will preclude me from playing certain roles,' the actor said. 'I'm working on 'Euphoria.' I finished 'Countdown.' As far as that goes, I'm pretty capable.' The first three episodes of 'Countdown' premiere on Prime Video on June 25. "Jennifer's Body" Sequel Is Happening with Amanda Seyfried & Megan Fox Returning
Yara Sameh The cult horror film 'Jennifer's Body,' starring Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried and Adam Brody, is nearing its 20th anniversary. Despite the film's cult status, sequel talks has been moving at a steady pace in the years following its 2009 release. Seyfried and Brody, in contention for Emmy nominations this year, recently reunited for Variety's ' Actors on Actors ' conversation where and shared important updates on the second film. 'We're making another one,' Seyfried told Brody definitively during their interview. 'I heard, what can you tell me?' he asked in return. In the original movie, 'Mamma Mia!' star Seyfried played Anita 'Needy' Lesnicki, the wallflower best friend of bad girl Fox (the titular Jennifer). Brody played Nikolai, lead singer of the aspiring rock band Low Shoulder. When the girls head to a local dive bar to see them play, Brody's character reveals bigger plans for his groupie Jennifer — a ritual sacrifice that will kill her and bring the band massive fame. Some problems arise in the fine print and Fox is transformed into a flesh-eating demon. Seyfried let on that the sequel is being spearheaded by producer Mason Novick ('Tully,' '500 Days of Summer'), who made the original with Jason Reitman and Daniel Dubiecki, which saw Brody and Fox's characters perish in the end. 'Are you going to do it?' Seyfried asked Brody about the next film, who said he hadn't been contacted about the project but noted that his character died. 'But so did Megan, and I'm not doing it without her,' Seyfried added, pitching Brody to play the devil this time around. She also suggested that original director Karyn Kusama ('Destroyer,' 'The Invitation') may be in the mix to return and that the pair had been trying to work together again after the first film. Considered a flop when the former 20th Century Fox brought it to theaters, the original grossed $31 million at the global box office on a $16 million budget. Pressure was high on Fox, who had broken big in Paramount's 'Transformers' franchise and on 'Jennifer's Body' screenwriter Diablo Cody, who had just come off an Oscar win for 'Juno.' But enduring fandom, the advent of streaming and discovery on platforms like TikTok have given 'Jennifer's Body' a strong cross-generational audience base. The movie was just shouted out on Benito Skinner's coming-of-age comedy 'Overcompensating.' Brody wondered to Seyfried what the second film should be called. A global focus on the Egyptian Media Hub at Cannes Film Festival
The designated space for the Egyptian Media Hub at the 78th Cannes Film Festival witnessed a state of vigor and vitality. It has become a meeting point for Egyptian content creators with their peers from across the globe, in addition to a number of diplomats concerned with getting a closer look at the Egyptian film industry. Among the most prominent visitors was Indonesian Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, who tackled collaboration opportunities between Egypt and Indonesia. There were also a number of chairmans of international and Arab film festivals. The platform has received considerable attention from global media. Screen Daily and Variety have published extensive reports on the leading role of the platform. It represents a new initiative aiming at supporting a promising generation of Egyptian filmmakers and promoting Egypt's presence in the global market, through the provision of production, filming, editing, and visual effects services. Furthermore, Associated Press noted that the Egyptian Media Hub is regarded as the first platform designated to present Egyptian cinema, tell local stories, and shed light on Egyptian culture. This initiative is led by Shahinaz El-Akkad, with the support of pioneering figures, with the aim of connecting Egyptian talents with global audiences. The mission of the platform is multifaceted; promoting international presence of Egyptian cinema, supporting the industry's growth on the global level, celebrating the industry's history and future, creating bridges of communication between veteran filmmakers and the new generation, fostering ties with global entertainment hubs, and presenting Egyptian and Arab culture in global forums, like the Cannes Film Festival. In this regard, the platform's founder, Shahinaz El-Akkad, stated, "I've attempted to unite a number of entities under a single umbrella to promote the global reach of Egyptian content beyond conventional limits, promote stories that reflect Egyptian community in its diversified dimensions, and shed light on the artistic and production potentials that Egypt offers worldwide". El-Akkad added, "Egyptian content is highly demanded in the region. Indeed, we aspire to expand further into Asian, African, and European markets in order to reach innovative openness and deep cultural collaboration. There are rich experiences and stories that haven't been released yet in a fascinating way on screens. Our objective is conveying culture and stories to a global audience, as well as highlighting Egypt as a promising cinematic destination on the global production map". Moreover, El-Akkad stressed that the Egyptian film industry, as the oldest in the region, deserves a platform which celebrates the creativity of its people to reach a global level. El-Akkad added, "Following our success in MIPCOM, as we represented over eight companies and received considerable attention, we are keen on continuing this journey in one of the most prominent film markets in the world in order to shed light on our beautiful culture and present it to a massive global audience". This year, the platform takes part in the Cannes Film Festival; the world's most prominent film festival, through a unique pavilion held under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture. 13 cinematic and entertainment entities from the public and private sectors, including production, distribution, writing, editing, and visual effects fields, took part in the event. Among the most prominent figures that participated in the event were: Shahinaz El-Akkad, Mohamed Hefzy, Ahmed Badawy, Aly El-Araby, Mohamed Abdul Wahab, Mariam Naoum, Hisham Fathy, Alaa Lashin, Adli Toma, Cédric Aoun, Marwa Abu Leila, and Nadine Abdel Ghaffar. It is noteworthy that this year's Cannes Festival market hosted over 15000 film professionals and included over 4000 films and projects from 140 countries across the world. This highlights the importance of the notable Egyptian presence as a new step towards further global interaction and shared creativity.
