‘The Boys' Star Erin Moriarty Shares Graves' Disease Diagnosis
The Boys star Erin Moriarty shared she was recently diagnosed with Graves' disease, advocating for people to listen to their bodies, especially when in pain. 'Autoimmune disease manifests differently in everybody/every body,' she wrote in an Instagram post. 'Your experience will be different from mine. My experience will be different from yours. Perhaps greatly, perhaps minutely.' More from Deadline Chace Crawford Had To Break Out Of "CW Pretty Boy Jail" After 'Gossip Girl' Jaz Sinclair Accepts Monte-Carlo TV Festival Award, Teases Darker Tone For Season 2 Of Prime Video's 'Gen V' It Starts On The Page (Drama): Read 'The Boys' Season 4 Finale Script With Foreword By Eric Kripke, Jessica Chou & David Reed Per the Cleveland Clinic, the autoimmune disorder affects the thyroid gland, resulting in the overproduction of the thyroid hormone, also known as hyperthyroidism, the most common cause of which is Graves' disease. A very common illness, it's most prevalent among women and people younger than 40, with wide-ranging symptoms that can include heat sensitivity, weight loss, tremors, irregular heartbeat and potentially Graves' ophthalmopathy, which develops in 1 out of 3 people with Graves' disease and includes eye issues like bulging eyes, light sensitivity and eye pressure or irritation. Untreated Graves' disease can lead to heart problems and osteoporosis, and treatments include medication like beta-blockers and antithyroid agents, as well as radioiodine therapy and surgery. 'One thing I can say: if I hadn't chalked it all up to stress and fatigue, I would've caught this sooner,' she added. 'A month ago, I was diagnosed with Graves' disease. Within 24 hours of beginning treatment, I felt the light coming back on. It's been increasing in strength ever since. If yours is dimming, even slightly, go get checked. Don't 'suck it up' and transcend suffering; you deserve to be comfy. Sh–'s hard enough as is.' Interspersed with the images of the actress were screenshots of texts sent to her parents: one seemingly prior to her diagnosis sent to her mom and the other presumably after treatment had begun sent to her dad. The former read: 'I'm serious; I really really need relief. I feel nauseated tonight. I feel so sh– and removed from who I am, I can't live like this forever. Or that long. There aren't moments anymore, not even a passing 5 seconds, when I feel normal. I've never had that. Not one. It's not just fatigue – it's an ineffable, system wide cry for help and I don't know how long I can remain in this state.' In the latter, she wrote, 'I already feel a world of a difference, primary thought (as of now): 'damn, this is how I'm supposed to feel? I've been missing out!'' In the comments, industry peers shared supportive emojis, including The Boys' costar Susan Heyward and See actress Nesta Cooper. The Boys director Shana Stein wrote, 'So happy you're on the road to healing.' Largely known for her work on Prime Video's The Boys, Moriarty portrays supe Starlight/Annie January, who leaves the Seven to join the cause against the megalomaniacal Homelander (Antony Starr). While there's no official release date for the fifth and final season of the Eric Kripke-created satire, due to be released next year, the cast teased a 'climactic end' to Deadline at a recent FYC panel. Prime Video reveals Gen V season 2 release date, and its first trailer reveals how it might set the stage for The Boys season 5
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Prime Video has set a launch date for Gen V season 2 The Boys' highly rated spin-off will return in mid-September Its first trailer addresses one of the show's most heart-breaking mysteries Amazon has finally confirmed when Gen V season 2 will be released on Prime Video. The Boys' highly rated spin-off, the first season of which currently holds a 97% critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, will make its debut on September 17, 2025. The live-action series' launch date was announced at Mexico Comic-Con 2025 (CCXP) on Saturday, May 31. Like many other Amazon TV Originals, Gen V's second season will launch with a three-episode premiere. The remaining five chapters will air weekly after that until its finale on October 22. As for who'll be back on campus for the series' sophomore outing, Jaz Sinclair returns as protagonist Marie Moreau. Lizze Broadway's Emma Meyer, Maddie Phillips' Cate Dunlap, London Thor/Derek Luh's Jordan Li, Asa Germann's Sam Riordan, and Sean Patrick Thomas' Polarity are also set to return. They'll be joined by Hamish Linklater, who's the first newcomer to be announced for one of the best Prime Video shows' next chapter. The Midnight Mass and Batman: Caped Crusader actor on board as Cipher, aka Goldolkin University's new and morally complicated Dean. Major spoilers follow for Gen V season 1. To answer that query, we'll turn our attention to the first trailer and official plot brief for Gen V season 2. Let's deal with the trailer first. Surprisingly, it confirms that Marie, Jordan and Emma will be reinstated as students at Godolkin University. As my Gen V season 1 ending explainer, well, explained, the trio were imprisoned by Vought for their part in the chaos that engulfed their Supes-only college in last season's finale. Before The Boys season 4 aired, I'd predicted that's where they would remain until the titular Supe-bashers broke them out of jail. Given how The Boys season 4 ended, though, that scenario is, at the time of writing, highly unlikely to happen. So, why has this trio been released, and how does Gen V season 2 tie into events of The Boys' fourth installment? To answer those questions, may I point you in the direction in Gen V 2's story synopsis. "In season 2, school is back in session," it reads. "As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss. "But, parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus," it continues. "The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it." So, Gen V's second season will deal with the fallout from its predecessor and The Boys' fourth installment. It'll address why Andre, aka the high-school Supe played by Chance Perdomo in season 1, won't return as well. Perdomo died in March 2024 following a motorbike accident but, rather than recast Andre, Gen V's creative team tweaked this season's story to explain what happened to Andre off-screen. Based on what the teaser shows, it'll be one of this season's most emotional subplots, too. Throw in Cipher's plan to create a new army of Supes who'll answer to the tyrannical Homelander, the potential for this so-called secret program to be integral to the main show's final season, and cameos from The Boys – Firecracker makes a brief appearance in season 2's initial trailer – and Gen V season 2 looks like it'll be a highly charged affair ahead of The Boys season 5's eventual launch. With filming on the latter series ongoing, its arrival on one of the world's best streaming services isn't likely to happen until 2026. Prime Video puts a Supernatural spin on The Boys season 5 cast as Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins sign on to the popular show in mystery roles Stranger Things season 5 release dates have been revealed, and Netflix has turned my 2025 festive season plans upside down Learn more about Invincible season 4 with our help

Law & Order: SVU's Ice-T Says He Was ‘Blindsided' by Kelli Giddish's Departure, Credits Fans With Bringing Her Back Full-Time in Season 27
Law & Order: SVU's Rollins and Tutuola were partners on the police force, and their portrayers are pals off-screen. So count series vet Ice-T among those eagerly awaiting Kelli Giddish's full-time return to the procedural this fall. 'Kelli is dope. Me and her were teammates and partners,' Ice-T told TVLine Tuesday at Raising Cane's in New York City's Times Square. The rapper/actor was there to celebrate National Iced Tea Day (get it?!) in collaboration with the restaurant chain. More from TVLine Who's Your Law & Orderverse Dream Team? Cook He recalled that when Giddish started the show in Season 13, just after original cast member Chris Meloni departed as Det. Stabler, 'I fell in love with Kelli as a person. She's just a sweetheart.' Giddish's exit as a series regular in December 2022, after her character and Peter Scanavino's Dominick 'Sonny' Carisi Jr. got hitched in a courthouse wedding, was a surprise, he added. 'No one really expected her to leave the show. We got blindsided by that. But the fans said they wanted to see Kelli back, so she's coming back.' Giddish has recurred on the show in the past few seasons, which is how we know Rollins is now a sergeant working with the New York Police Department's Intelligence Unit. The character most recently showed up in Season 26 to assist SVU on a kidnapping case. Giddish's reinstatement as a regular made series star Mariska Hargitay 'ecstatic,' she recently said. 'She is a formidable actress and an incredibly creative partner and has been such a joy and huge part of the fabric of SVU,' Hargitay added. 'I love her, and I love acting with her and co-creating with her, and it feels like home with her.' NBC renewed SVU for Season 27 in May. The upcoming season will find the procedural under the supervision of a new showrunner, Michele Fazekas (Gen V) and down two squad members: Octavio Pisano and Juliana Aidén Martinez won't return as Det. Joe Velasco and Det. Kate Silva, respectively. Press PLAY on the video above to hear Ice-T get excited about Giddish's increased presence in the new season, then hit the comments with your thoughts! Arnold Schwarzenegger Grills Son Patrick on Why He Thinks His Last Name Was an 'Obstacle' in Hollywood
In the past few years, the 'nepo baby' debate has been all the rage. And while some celebrity kids have been candid about the opportunities they've been given because of just who they are, others have insisted that being a 'nepo baby' isn't quite as luxurious as it seems. For Patrick Schwarzenegger, who recently made a name for himself in the third season of The White Lotus, his journey has been a mixed bag – and dad Arnold Schwarzenegger is ready to grill him on it. More from SheKnows The Most Popular Celebrity Teen Is Worth a Staggering $250 Million, According to a New Study In their new 'Actors on Actors' for Variety, Arnold asked his son about a quote of his from the past, claiming that having their famous last name was 'difficult.' 'Explain that to me, because to me, the name Schwarzenegger always meant a big plus,' Arnold said. 'And then all of a sudden you were talking about [how] it can be an obstacle.' For his answer, Patrick, who's also starred in other known projects like The Staircase and Gen V, talked about his audition process with White Lotus creator Mike White. 'I feel it in multiple different ways,' he told his dad. 'Mike White said that it comes with baggage, the idea that when you have successful parents like I do with you and Mom [Maria Shriver], there's an added level of what other people think.' As fans of the show know, Patrick was eventually cast as Saxson Ratliff, the older and most know-it-all son of Victoria (Parker Posey) and Timothy Ratliff (Jason Isaacs). 'Mike was worried about if he cast me, what other people would think,' Patrick continued. 'Which they did — they did care about that; people said I got the role because of you and Mom.' Patrick then revealed that he once considered changing his last name. 'There were times earlier in my career where I was wondering, does it make sense to go under an alias?' he said. 'It took a while for me to get to a point where I was less worried about living in your shadow versus wanting to do it the way I thought I should do it.' Luckily, it seems Patrick never addressed the thought to his dad, who might've been hurt by name change. 'I'm glad you kept the name, because now I can take credit,' Arnold joked. 'You joined a very short list of people: You know, Jamie Lee Curtis — I think she's one of the greatest actors in history. If you show you have the substance, you can get rid of the whole idea of nepotism.' Patrick then finished the thought by expressing his gratitude for all the opportunities his parents have given him over the years. 'I understand how hard you and Mom have worked throughout your life to give me the opportunities that I've had,' he said. The biggest advice you gave us kids is to work hard. I've tried to honor that.' Whether you're a fan of the generation of 'nepo babies' or not, honoring your parents is surely something most of us can relate to.
