'Greatest' James Bond film of all time ranked by Rotten Tomatoes
The James Bond film franchise has been running since 1962, with 27 movies released over the years - and now the entire collection has been ranked from worst to best
Across 27 films and seven actors taking on the role of the iconic 007 agent, James Bond has established itself as a quintessential British film franchise since the swinging sixties. But which film claims the crown as the best Bond flick?
Rotten Tomatoes, one of the most reliable film and telly review sites, is often the first port of call for those seeking the truth about a film's quality, giving power to the people.
Its 'Tomatometer' calculates an overall score based on cinema-goers' reviews, and this has enabled them to rank all of the James Bond films in order, with the top spot boasting an impressive 99% score.
James Bond was initially conceived in 1953 by Ian Fleming as a fictional British Secret Service agent, whose life and missions spanned 12 novels and two short stories. However, in 1962, Fleming's character made his screen debut, altering the trajectory of British film history with Dr No, the inaugural Bond film, which remains one of the best-reviewed of the 007 movies.
Since then, the franchise has soared to new heights, with fans eagerly awaiting each new release and watching the international man of mystery traverse the globe, undertake new missions, and don swanky new suits. While the worst-reviewed film of the Bond franchise is the 1967 spoof Casino Royale, featuring David Niven, claiming the top spot is Goldfinger, released in 1964, reports the Express.
Goldfinger, the dazzling third James Bond offering, reigns supreme as viewers' top pick of the series, featuring Sean Connery's iconic portrayal as the suave MI6 operative. After the success of its predecessors, the budget for Goldfinger was ramped up to match the combined expenditure of the first two films, setting the stage for the enterprise's first major blockbuster and paving the way for future extravaganzas.
An enthusiast on Rotten Tomatoes lavished praise, writing: "The Bond film to which all others must be compared. The girls, the guns, the gadgets, the locations, the villains, the evil master plan... it may not have been the first Bond film, but it is, and likely always will be, the standard-bearer."
Another fan said: "Goldfinger hands down is one of the best in the entire series. It simply has everything great to offer: you have action, one-liners, a great villain, a memorable Bond girl and Sean Connery as Bond. Absolutely iconic."
Not to be outdone, From Russia With Love claims second place with an impressive 97% score, attributed to its 'spectacular' scenes, and remaining unforgettable with Connery at the helm.
One viewer summed up: "Sean Connery will never truly be replaced as Bond," adding: "And, if 'Dr No' wasn't enough proof of that, look no further than this funny, thrilling and sexy adventure."
We must track down to fourth place in the rolodex of Bond films to encounter the modern-era 007s, with Daniel Craig's debut in 'Casino Royale' leading the charge. 'No Time to Die', which graced the silver screen in 2021, nestles at number seven amidst the top-rated Bonds.
This chapter marked the curtain call for Daniel Craig as the iconic spy, passing the famed baton on to an as-yet undisclosed successor. Fans were vocal about Craig's swansong, with one critic saying: "Daniel Craig's final Bond is EVERYTHING we hoped for! Action, emotion, and a perfect goodbye to the 007 who redefined the role."
Another added: "The multiverse-level excitement of bringing his journey full circle with heart & high stakes. It's not just about stopping the villain; it's Bond facing his past & legacy. Craig is on fire, balancing grit & vulnerability like no other. We came for the action and stayed for the emotion. This film gave us closure & left us in awe. A proper farewell to a Bond we'll never forget."
Bond aficionados eager for a dive into espionage nostalgia or simply wishing to treat themselves to the unparalleled 'Goldfinger', can find solace as it's available for streaming on ITVX and Amazon Prime.

The Chase star Mark Labbett says 'it's an honour' 16 years after ITV show debut
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info The Chase's Mark Labbett was quick to issue a message to one of the celebrity guests during Saturday's show. During the episode, which originally aired last year, ITV viewers saw 'The Beast' go head to head with the likes of Raj Bisram, Danielle Harold, John Conteh and Roger Black, who were all competing to win money for their charity. With the Antiques Roadshow expert and EastEnders star successfully managing to make it back to the table with the money they had earned in their round, it was time for former British professional boxer John Conteh to face Mark. The 74-year-old answered three questions correctly, meaning he had earned a total of £3,000 to potentially bring back to the team. However, before facing Mark at the table, the quizzer had some kind words to say to the boxing champ. He said: 'Good evening, John. It's not often I say this, but it's an honour, sir, to meet you.' The audience gave a collective sound of admiration for Mark's remark as John thanked him. Bradley added: 'He loves his boxing!' Although the niceties were short-lived as Mark replied: 'Right, that's the last compliment you'll get.' Sadly, John didn't make it back to the table as Mark caught him at the table during his round. In the end, it was Raj, Danielle and Roger in the final Chase as they were playing to win a staggering £120,000 after Roger decided to go for Mark's high offer. Getting a three-step headstart, the team managed to answer 11 questions correctly, setting a target of 14 for the chaser to try and beat. With two minutes on the clock, Mark managed to catch the team with 47 seconds left on the clock to spare. Speaking about their performance, the quizzer, who has been part of the ITV show for 16 years, said: 'I'm sorry guys, the way they broke, either I knew them, or they were so tough you didn't stand a prayer at pushing me back.' Meanwhile, host Bradley Walsh said: 'We missed John Conteh, of course, you needed a full house, and we needed a bigger score on our side of that run, but that's just the way it is.' However, the ITV star informed the team that they won't be walking away empty handed as they'd each get £1,000 to give to their chosen charity. The Chase is available to watch on ITVX

Theo James looks suave in a black suit as he attends Dolce & Gabbana runway show during Milan Fashion Week amid 'leading odds' to become the next James Bond
Theo James looked suave as he stepped out for the Dolce & Gabbana fashion show during the Milan Menswear Spring/Summer 2026 Fashion Week on Saturday. The actor, 40, who is rumoured to be in the running for the next James Bond, cut a dapper figure in a sleek black suit for the occasion. He paired the look with a black shirt and classic black loafers, finishing it off with a pair of striking tortoiseshell sunglasses. Theo looked relaxed and in high spirits as he posed for photos at the glamorous event in the heart of the Italian city. It comes after it was revealed that Theo James is currently the bookies' favourite to step into the iconic role of James Bond, with odds of 5/2. The Divergent star has surged ahead of other contenders, including Superman actor Henry Cavill, Tom Hardy, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and James Norton. The actor, 40, who is rumoured to be in the running for the next James Bond, cut a dapper figure in a sleek black suit for the occasion. The legendary 007 character was first brought to life by Sean Connery in 1962's Dr. No and has since been portrayed by several leading men. Most recently, Daniel Craig fronted the franchise, starring in five Bond films from 2006 to 2021. Ever since No Time to Die marked Craig's final outing, speculation has been rife about who will take up the mantle next - and it seems Theo is firmly in the lead. The Brit has previously impressed while playing rogue, morally ambiguous characters somewhat similar to Bond in both The White Lotus and and Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen. But James has played down speculation linking him to the part, telling The Guardian last year that it 'probably wouldn't be me'. While she was planning the new Bond movie, Barbara Broccoli's favourite was thought to be The Divergent star Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 34. He momentarily moved down bookies' lists after Amazon's purchase of the franchise, but recently soared back up them after signing a deal with Omega, the official watch provider of Bond. He was also endorsed by former 007 PIerce Brosnan, 72, during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross show last month. It comes after it was revealed that Theo is currently the bookies' favourite to step into the iconic role of James Bond, with odds of 5/2 'I think he (Aaron) would make a very fine Bond,' Brosnan said. 'He was actually in one of the movies I made called The Greatest. This young man we cast as The Greatest. 'He was so impressive then. He just had this charisma, he had this presence... he would be so good. But there's many men on the list, I'm sure.' As The Daily Mail reported, the plan is for the new Bond to be a 'straight up' reboot. There is reportedly set to be no explanation of how the special agent is still alive, no multiverse of Bonds and no attempt to go back to the 1960s for a vintage Bond. Amazon bosses are currently said to be considering locations in which to set the much-anticipated new film, which experts predicted is likely to be released at the end of next year or in 2027. Due to a filming ban being imposed in Central London next year, new locations are reportedly being considered - with Liverpool a frontrunner, according to The Sun. An insider told the publication: 'This will no doubt irk Bond purists who already fear Amazon taking over the 007 franchise may lead to them making big changes. 'But Liverpool is a well-known alternative to London for film-makers. 'It has appeared in everything from The Batman to Captain America and Harry Potter movies, doubling up as international cities.' The source added that it doesn't necessarily mean the story will be set in Liverpool - though eagle-eyed Merseysiders will no doubt spot their city centre in the background.

Inside the £28,999 Glastonbury accommodation with pools and helicopter arrivals
British festivals go hand-in-hand with camping in claustrophobia-inducing tents with all of your friends, covered in mud, slowly sinking into rivers of rain. With Glastonbury Festival around the corner – it may not be the case this year with it set to be a scorcher. This year's Worthy Farm event will see headline performances from the likes of The 1975, Olivia Rodrigo, Neil Young, and Rod Stewart in the legend's slot. Festivals have changed drastically since Glasto began in 1970, with various glamping options available both onsite and in the Glastonbury area. One such accommodation is The Pop Up Hotel, a luxury retreat offering swimming pools and massages for festivalgoers who don't fancy kicking their wellies off in a canvas triangle from their local supermarket. Located in West Pennard, Glastonbury, rooms at the Pop Up Hotel start at £2,999 for two people at The Orchard, a site five minutes from the main hotel. Glamping tents at the site come with 24-hour hot showers, toilets, and more luxurious extras such as a spa, salon, swimming pool, and dining options. For those really wanting to splash out, The Pop Up Hotel has the Tipi Tenthouse Suite priced at an eye-watering £28,999 for six guests. The Tipi Tenthouse has its own en-suite shower room with a shower, toilet, and basin, and king or twin beds. Bedding, linens, towels, and toiletries are provided as well as home comforts such as power for charging electrical devices. For 2025 ahead of Glastonbury's fallow year in 2026, The Pop Up Hotel has introduced a number of 'luxurious upgrades and carefully curated wellness experiences designed to pamper guests like never before,' including a salon in conjunction with Sephora and bespoke spa treatments. A wellness space will allow those tired after a day of dancing to their favourite artists to enjoy saunas, ice baths, yofa, and breathwork sessions. As well as several new food and drink options, The Pop Up Hotel will also have their own live performances and pool parties for guests to enjoy. The Pop Up Hotel also offers travel options to get to and from the festival site – including a private helicopter. 'Hotel guests can beat the worst of the traffic and fly into Glastonbury like rock royalty,' they announced earlier this month. 'By parking at easily-accessible and conveniently-located Hartham Park Estate or Homewood House Hotel, guests can hop on a 15-minute helicopter transfer for the final 30 miles to Glastonbury, bypassing the gridlocked traffic below. Heli-Hop return flights start from £1,399 per person.' However, a spokesperson for Glastonbury said the festival 'absolutely does not condone' the use of private helicopters to the event. More Trending 'This offsite accommodation provider has no relationship to us, so we cannot control how people arrive there. We absolutely do not condone the use of helicopters,' they said (per The Sun). 'Here at Glastonbury Festival, we encourage people to arrive by public transport or to lift share if they do decide to drive.' The company also offers accommodation at Silverstone, The British Grand Prix, Coachella Festival, and Stagecoach Festival – so if you didn't manage to nab any coveted Glastonbury tickets this year, you can still check out what they have to offer elsewhere.
