DEFENDING CHAMPIONS ATHLONE Town continued their unbeaten run with a commanding 3-0 win over Peamount United.
Two goals from Kelly Brady, and a penalty from Roisín Molloy ensured that Athlone remain the only unbeaten team in the Women's Premier Division as they continue to hold pole position ahead of Shelbourne.
Brady got Athlone off the mark just before half-time and doubled their advantage on 52 minutes. Molloy then completed the victory with a goal from the penalty spot with 13 minutes to go.
Kate Mooney was Shelbourne's hat-trick hero as they kept the pressure on with a 3-1 win away to Sligo Rovers.
Mooney sent Shels on their way with a 20th minute penalty, and doubled their lead from play six minutes later. Just after the half-hour mark, Sligo pulled one back through Anna McDaniel.

But Mooney wrapped up another routine victory with her 10th goal of the season in the 65th minute.
Shamrock Rovers held on for a 2-1 win over Cork City at Tallaght Stadium.

Áine O'Gorman struck first in the 14th minute, and the former Ireland international went from scorer to provider in the 31st minute as she assisted Joy Ralph.
Cork dug deep and hit back through Eva Mangan in the 76th minute, but Rovers saw the win out.
Elsewhere, it was seventh heaven for Galway United in Waterford.
Phil Trill's side romped to a 7-0 triumph at the RSC amidst a five-star second-half showing. Aislinn Meaney and Eve Dossen were both on the double.
Meaney and Aoibheann Costello had the visitors 2-0 up at half time, and they drove on thereafter, with Emma Doherty and Kate Thompson also on the scoresheet.
Treaty United scored a 93rd minute winner as they came from behind away to Bohemians.
Aoibhe Brennan opened the scoring in the seventh minute at Dalymount Park, but Treaty drew level early in the second half after a Lisa Murphy own goal.
Bohs were reduced to 10 players in the 87th minute when Sarah Power was shown a second yellow card, and Treaty capitalised through Katie Lawlee deep in injury time.

Meanwhile, Wexford FC got the better of DLR Waves. Goals from Lauren Kelly, Becky Cassin and a brace from Kylie Murphy helped secure a 4-1 win for Wexford.
Kelly opened the scoring with a goal after 12 minutes before DLR Waves struck back with an equaliser through Jess Gleeson.
Kylie Murphy put Wexford back in front in the 34th minute and they held a 2-1 lead heading into half-time. Murphy extended their lead with a goal from the penalty spot after 53 minutes before Cassin rounded off a big win with a penalty in injury-time.

Cork defeat Clare by nine parts after a strong second half performance
Glen Dimplex All-Ireland senior camogie championship: Cork 0-21 Clare 1-9 Cork's winning streak in the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland senior camogie championship continued in SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday. A nine-point winning margin was achieved after a strong second-half performance. The victory for Ger Manley's outfit means they head into the final round of fixtures next Saturday against winless Wexford top of Group 1 and in the perfect position to take a semi-final spot. Indication of their squad depth was also highlighted by the unavailability of Hannah Looney and Aoife Healy due to football commitments. However, the hosts didn't get matters entirely their own way having led by three points at the break. Bear in mind too when these teams met in the Munster championship in April Clare lost 2-22 to 0-10. It was evident from the outset the Banner women were up for the challenge and John Carmody's youthful side were competitive. Factor in also, two one-on-one goal opportunities in second-half stoppage time from Róisín Begley and Áine O'Loughlin that were bravely saved by Cork 'keeper Amy Lee. But for now, the visitors will travel home having secured a championship knockout place in Croke Park and that has to be the first box ticked. Their game against Tipperary next weekend will determine whether they finish second or third. They got a tonic start with a green flag inside the opening minute from Jennifer Daly who soloed through from out the field and applied the finishing touches after a mere 45 seconds. The only goal of the day was immediately followed by a Caoimhe Cahill point from play and they were up-and-running. Orlaith Cahalane settled Cork with a fifth minute white flag and they would shoot the next three unanswered points from play. A goal opportunity too came their way but couldn't be taken advantage of. Impressive wing-forward Jennifer Daly raced through for Clare's second point to leave just one between the sides approaching the quarter hour mark, 1-2 to 0-4. Industrious centre-forward Saoirse McCarthy (free) Emma Murphy and Kate Wall stretched the lead. Róisín Begley won a free close to the posts for Aisling Cooney to convert - it remained a single point match with 10 minutes to go to the interval. Sorcha McCartan and Murphy points sent Cork to the dressing-room 0-9 to 1-3 ahead. The defending All-Ireland champions were a different proposition in the second half and reeled off a trio of points from Murphy, McCartan and Amy O'Connor (free) to extend their advantage. Seven-in-a-row points while limiting Clare to a pair of converted frees arrived in a productive 20-minute spell - a Clare team that had emptied the tank in the opening half. Emerging with 10 different scorers, Cork pulled 0-20 to 1-5 clear by the 50th minute despite striking 13 wides to Clare's three overall. Clare did outhit them four-one in the final 10 minutes plus three minutes of stoppage. And had those two late goals been converted the deficit would have been less again. Bradley admits leaders Rovers are keen on Masterson coup
Conor Masterson would be of interest to Shamrock Rovers if the former Liverpool centre-back was to become available. Masterson (26) was in Tallaght on Friday to watch the Hoops swell their lead at the top of the table to 11 points following a 4-1 mauling of Cork City. He's just completed his season at English League Two Gillingham but is out of contract next week and yet to agree to an extension. Previously, he featured in the Championship for Queen's Park Rangers and was once part of Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool first-team squad. He famously joined the Reds from his local Lucan United club in 2014 on a record package of €525,000. The defender from Celbridge has options to move up a tier to League One but both Damien Duff and Stephen Kenny are interested in bringing him to Shelbourne and St Patrick's Athletic respectively ahead of their European campaigns. Masterson was a regular during Kenny's year in charge of Ireland's U21s. Hoops boss Stephen Bradley was asked about the presence of Masterson as a club guest and while he stressed no talks have occurred he'd be open to exploring the prospect. Bradley has an embarrassment of riches in terms of squad depth, able to rest Jack Byrne, Graham Burke, Matt Healy and Lee Grace ahead from Friday with the derby against Bohemians in mind. Retaining freshness is his priority, evidenced by his strike force bolstered by the capture of Irish League sensation John McGovern from Dungannon Swifts. He'll be available after the window opens on June 1, the same date Masterson can join alternative employers. 'Look, Conor is a good player and there's no getting away from that,' admitted Bradley. 'He has been that since he was 14 years of age. We all remember that and that hasn't changed. 'We want good players here. I don't know what his plans are, I don't know anything about them and that's being genuine. 'I'm hearing that teams have offered him deals, I don't know how true it is. All I know is we haven't spoken to him. But if it's something that he was coming home, we'd obviously be interested in good players.'
