Tirumala: On World Environment Day, TTD has organised plantation programme in Tirumala near Gogarbham Circle on Thursday.
TTD Additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary planted Ficus Bengalensis (Banyan-Marri) plant in the premises of Octopus Building. He said that TTD is planting 2,000 saplings in Tirumala on this occasion. Stating that they took steps to increase greenery in Tirumala by 80 per cent, he informed soon they will organise a programme to plant two lakh saplings along with forest department.
TTD Deputy CF Srinivas, Deputy EO (Health) Somannarayana, FRO Doraswamy, health officer Madhusudhan, EE Sudhakar and officers also planted samplings.

Tirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams JEO V Veerabrahmam said that the temple management has completed all the arrangements for the International Yoga Day, scheduled to be held globally on June 21. The event will take place at 6.30 AM on Saturday at the Parade Grounds located within the TTD Administrative Building premises in Tirupati. Under the supervision of senior TTD officials, special arrangements have been made to accommodate around 1,500 participants practicing yoga. TTD employees, staff, and students from TTD educational institutions are expected to participate in the event. Veerabrahmam instructed officials to ensure the provision of breakfast and drinking water to all participants at the venue.

RTC to transport devotees for free in Tirumala

Tirumala: TTD additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary informed that APSRTC buses have been made available to ply within Tirumala transporting devotees free of cost. After flagging off the free RTC bus trips at Ashwini Hospital Circle in Tirumala on Thursday morning, he said that to prevent the high fares charged by private vehicles from devotees and to control pollution in Tirumala, TTD asked APSRTC to operate buses. The RTC officials responded positively and came forward to operate buses. He also said that these buses ply along the route of TTD-run Srivari Dharma Rathas in Tirumala and transport devotees from one area to another for free. Adding further he said, already TTD is plying 300 trips daily in Tirumala through Srivari Dharma Rathams. With the addition of RTC buses, an additional 80 trips have been made possible, he observed. He said that with the availability of free buses from every eight minutes has now come down to every two minutes, thereby strengthening the public transport system. The additional EO also said that it will be convenient for the devotees to go directly to Tirupati by boarding these RTC buses in various parts of Tirumala without coming to the bus stand and paying any additional charges except the Tirumala-Tirupati en route fare. APS RTC executive director Paidi Chandrasekhar, TTD transport GM Sesha Reddy, deputy EO Lokanatham, Tirupati district public transport officer Venkata Rao, deputy CTM Vishwanath, deputy CME, Balaji, Alipiri depot manager Srihari, DI Tirumala Venkatadri Naidu and other officers participated.

Hyderabad: BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Thursday requested the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman, B R Naidu, to provide an opportunity for Banjara Peethadhipas (spiritual leaders) from the Telugu states to perform poojas at the Tirupati Hathiram Bawaji Mutt in Tirumala. MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, accompanied by various Banjara Peethadhipas from Telangana, made a courtesy call to the TTD Chairman B R Naidu in Hyderabad on Thursday. The Telangana Jagruthi President specifically requested the TTD Chairman to allow Banjara (Sugali, Lambadi) Peethadhipas and priests to perform pujas at the Mutt on the occasion of Hathiram Bawaji Jayanti on June 30, and to make arrangements for offering Naivedyam (food offerings). TTD Chairman B R Naidu has assured that a special meeting would be convened soon with the administrators of Hathiram Bawaji Peetham and tribal Peethadhipas. A decision, he said, would be taken in this meeting to discuss and facilitate the performance of pujas and offering of Aarti at the Haritam Bawaji Mutt premises. The TTD Chairman further assured that special pujas and offerings would be conducted on the occasion of Hathiram Bawaji's birth anniversary on June 30.
