Tourism 365 to Participate in ITB China 2025 to Elevate Abu Dhabi and the UAE as Leading Global Tourism Destinations
Tourism 365, the tourism arm of ADNEC Group, has announced its participation in ITB China 2025, one of the most prominent trade fairs for the travel and tourism industry in the Chinese and wider Asian markets. This strategic participation underscores the company's commitment to reinforcing Abu Dhabi and the UAE's position as a preferred global tourism destination.
During the three-day event, which will run from 27 to 29 May at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, Tourism 365 will showcase its exceptional tourism offerings to global industry leaders, professionals, and experts. These include unique travel experiences across Abu Dhabi and the UAE, as well as bespoke trip planning services.

Tourism 365 will exhibit as part of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi's pavilion at the world's largest travel trade show. The pavilion will also feature iconic landmarks such as the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Louvre Abu Dhabi, along with other key attractions from across the emirate.
Participation in global exhibitions like ITB China is central to Tourism 365's strategy to promote Abu Dhabi's distinct tourism experiences to a wider international audience and drive visitation from both established and emerging markets. China remains a priority market for Tourism 365, with increasing interest from Chinese tourists in exploring the UAE and Abu Dhabi's rich mix of cultural, leisure and heritage attractions.
Tourism 365 plays a vital role in supporting the Abu Dhabi Tourism Strategy 2030, which aims to grow annual visitor numbers from approximately 24 million in 2023 to around 39.3 million by 2030.

Egypt's chemical, fertilizer exports rise 18% in 4M 2025, Reaching $3.14bn
Egypt's Chemicals and Fertilizers Export Council has reported an 18% year-on-year increase in sector exports during the first four months of 2025, with total exports reaching $3.14bn—up from approximately $2.73bn during the same period in 2024. Fertilizers led the sector's performance, generating $961m in export revenue, followed by plastics and polymers at $723m. Petrochemicals ranked third with $602m but recorded the highest growth among sub-sectors, surging 58% compared to the previous year. Turkey emerged as the top importer, purchasing $437m worth of Egyptian chemical and fertilizer products. It was followed by Italy ($396m), Spain ($187m), and Brazil (around $184m). Regionally, the European Union remained the largest export destination, accounting for 42% of total exports. Arab countries followed with 22%, and Asian markets with 16%. Khaled Abou El Makarem, Chairperson of the Chemicals and Fertilizers Export Council, said the figures reflect the sector's resilience and sustained growth despite global economic and geopolitical challenges. He emphasized the need to enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products and accelerate market diversification—especially in Africa and Latin America. He added that the upcoming implementation of a new export subsidy rebate program in the second half of 2025 is expected to further stimulate the sector, helping achieve the Council's target of surpassing $9bn in total exports by year-end. Executive Director Mohamed Magid echoed these sentiments, highlighting the sector's strong performance as a testament to its ability to maintain momentum under pressure. He noted that the first-quarter results are a positive indicator of the global competitiveness of Egyptian products, despite ongoing regional conflicts and global economic headwinds that have disrupted fertilizer and petrochemical production worldwide. Magid also underlined the importance of developing industrial value chains and expanding specialized industries to further strengthen Egypt's export capabilities and support the state's broader goals for industrial and trade development.

Chinese Solar Firm Sunrev to Build USD 200 Million Plant in SCZone
Chinese solar company Sunrev will open a USD 200 million facility in Egypt's SCZone to manufacture components for export and support local production of key solar materials. Jun 22, 2025 Chinese solar energy company Sunrev has signed an agreement to establish a USD 200 million manufacturing complex in Ain Sokhna, within the China-Egypt TEDA-Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone — a key part of the Suez Canal Economic Zone. Spanning 200,000 square metres, the complex will be developed in two phases. The first will involve constructing two factories, each with the capacity to produce 2 gigawatts of solar cells and modules. The second phase will focus on localising the production of raw materials such as silicon ingots and wafers. The project is expected to create 1,800 direct jobs, with operations from the first phase set to begin in the first half of 2026. Once operational, the facility is projected to generate up to USD 300 million in annual export revenue, serving both regional and global markets. Founded in 2008, Sunrev operates nine production bases in China's Jiangsu province and specialises in the development and manufacturing of photovoltaic components, including monocrystalline silicon wafers, high-efficiency solar cells, and large-scale modules. The company is also active in the construction of solar power plants. The China-Egypt TEDA zone, also established in 2008, has become a key destination for Chinese industrial investment in Egypt, hosting more than 160 companies across sectors such as construction, petroleum equipment, and heavy machinery. It has created over 70,000 jobs and continues to support industrial cooperation between Egypt and China.
