Himachal youth arrested after 'sensitive' information related to India's security found on phone
An 18-year-old youth was arrested on Thursday after sensitive content which could endanger the sovereignty, unity and integrity of the country was allegedly found in his mobile phone, police said.
The accused has been identified as Abhishek, a resident of Sukahar in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district. Abhishek, reportedly a college dropout, has been booked under the Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), a statement issued by the Police Headquarters here said.
The police team had been monitoring the suspect closely for several days, collecting intelligence and keeping him under surveillance, and on Thursday a special team led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Dadaseeba raided the residence of the accused and took him in custody, police said.
He was brought to the Dehra police station for interrogation, and sensitive and objectionable content was allegedly found in his mobile phone, the police said.

Cash, jewellery worth over Rs9L stolen from 2 bungalows in Nashik
Nashik: Two bungalows on Mahalaxmi Temple Road were burgled in the early hours of Friday, with cash and jewellery amounting to over Rs9.3 lakh reported stolen. The Upnagar police station has registered a case under sections 331 (housebreaking) and 305 (theft) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanahita (BNS). According to the police, unidentified individuals broke into the two adjacent, unoccupied bungalows sometime between 12:01am and 6am on Friday. From one bungalow, thieves made off with Rs40,000 in cash and gold and silver jewellery valued at Rs8.1 lakh. The second bungalow reported stolen articles worth Rs78,000. The thefts came to light when an acquaintance of one of the owners noticed the open main doors of the bungalows. He then informed one of the owners, leading to the registration of the police complaint. "We will check the CCTV footage in and around the area to determine if any movement of the burglars was spotted," a police officer said. House break-ins and thefts are a concern in Nashik city, considering that over 200 cases are registered every year, while the detection rate is less than 30 per cent. The police have been constantly appealing to the people to deploy security guards and install CCTV cameras in their respective areas. This can help in detecting the criminals, and the cameras also act as a deterrent for such offences.

Jewellery worth Rs7.5 lakh stolen from home in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A house in Bhagat Singh Nagar was broken into on Friday with thieves making off with gold jewelry valued at Rs7.5 lakh. The incident occurred while the family was away from their residence. According to the police, the theft took place sometime between 10am and 6.15pm. Unidentified suspects gained entry into the house and stole all the gold jewelry inside. The victim, a 35-year-old homemaker, filed a complaint stating that she was at her workplace and her son was at school when the housebreaking occurred. Her husband is currently residing in Pune. "The break-in took place in an apartment flat situated in a multi-storey apartment. The thieves must have conducted reconnaissance of the flat and knew that no family members remained present during the daytime," a police officer said. Upon forcing entry through the door, the suspects broke open the cupboard and decamped with the gold jewellery. The Pundalik Nagar police have registered an offence under section 331(3) (house break-in) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Managing director duped of ₹3.98 crore in share market fraud
A 33-year-old managing director of a private manufacturing firm lost ₹ 3.98 crore in an online stock market scam after being lured by promises of high returns. The accused have been identified as Tirumalshetti Vyankateshwar Rao alias TV Rao, his son Tirumalshetti Raghav and daughter Tirumalshetti Saipriya. The accused lured the victim to buy shares of Tata Motors on the basis of margin money. The accused claimed that he is a sub-broker of a well-known broking firm, as a result of which he can get shares at a much-discounted price on the basis of margin money. Believing in his words, the victim had transferred a certain amount via online transactions. However, the purchased shares did not reflect in his account. So, in order to reflect the purchased share, the accused demanded more money and likewise the victim paid ₹ 4.97 crore via multiple online transactions. Even after that, he did not get the purchased shares in his demat account. Hence, to gain the confidence of the victim, the accused sent a fake contract note to the victim. When the accused started demanding money, the accused returned ₹ 99 lakh and refused to pay the balance amount of ₹ 3.98 crore. Subsequently, the accused approached the police and filed an FIR against the accused. A case has been filed at Bavdhan police station on Saturday under BNS sections 316(2), 316(5), 318(4), 336(2), 336(3), 338, 339, 3(5).
