Apple TV+ has released the trailer for its upcoming feel-good sports comedy series Stick . The movie stars Owen Wilson as a washed up pro golfer.
Wilson plays Pryce Cahill in the series, an 'over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago.
'After the collapse of his marriage and getting fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store, Pryce hedges his bets, and future, entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom named Santi (Peter Dager).'
The movie is described as 'a heartfelt, feel-good sports comedy about a found family and their relationships set within the world of golf as it has never been shown before.'
The cast also includes Marc Maron, Mariana Treviño, Lilli Kay, Judy Greer and Timothy Olyphant, and features guest appearances from golf superstars such as Collin Morikawa, Keegan Bradley, Max Homa, Wyndham Clark and more.
Stick was created by Jason Keller, and Wilson is also an executive producer. The 10-episode series will make its debut on Apple TV+ with the first three episodes on Wednesday, June 4, followed by one new episode every Wednesday, through July 23, 2025.

James Tibbs III reacts to being in Rafael Devers trade, excited for potential future with Red Sox
While the Red Sox will see Rafael Devers in his new San Francisco Giants uniform this weekend, it might be a while before Boston fans see any of the players the team received in the surprising blockbuster. That is unless they head to Worcester or Portland, Maine. While Devers is already mashing for the Giants, the four players the Red Sox received are either injured or in the minor leagues. Hard-throwing reliever Jordan Hicks is sidelined with a foot injury, while lefty starter Kyle Harrison, outfielder James Tibbs III, and pitcher Jose Bello will be taking the bus for the foreseeable future. Harrison was sent to Triple-A Worcester after Sunday's trade was completed, and has yet to make his debut for the WooSox. Tibbs, meanwhile, is now in Double-A Portland where he made his debut for the Sea Dogs on Tuesday. The outfielder/first baseman, who is currently ranked the No. 6 prospect in the Boston system, collected his first career hit at the Double-A level on Wednesday. On Thursday night, he went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI and two runs scored for Portland in a 7-6 loss to Akron. Tibbs spoke with WBZ-TV's and CBS News Boston's Joe Weil ahead of Thursday's game and shared his reaction to being traded to the Red Sox, an organization he had always hoped to be a part of. He just had to take a different and very unexpected route to join the Boston franchise. Tibbs' reaction to be traded to the Red Sox Devers was traded just hours after he hit a home run for Boston in a 2-0 win over the Yankees at Fenway Park. He and his teammates were about to board a flight and head off on a nine-game west coast swing, when Devers was pulled aside and told he had been dealt to San Francisco. Tibbs' trade story was just as interesting. He was wrapping up his final game with the Eugene Emeralds in High-A ball and had just worked a walk in the ninth inning. When he got to first base, he was surprised to see he was being lifted for a pinch runner. When Tibbs got back to the dugout, the team's pitching coach handed him a phone. The director of San Francisco's farm system was on the other end, and told Tibbs he had been traded to the Boston Red Sox. "My first thought was, 'Huh, no kidding. Alright.' A lot of emotion," Tibbs told Weil. "Definitely was very sad to leave those guys; I had a great time over there and had a blast with that group of guys in Eugene. But I was immediately so fired up to become a Red Sox." Tibbs got a taste for baseball in New England when he played for the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League in 2023. "Being in New England and playing in the Cape, I knew the love for Boston sports and the Red Sox specifically," he explained. Then Tibbs started wondering how he ended up in Boston. "Then I was like, 'Alright, who was I traded for?' When I found out it was Devers, I was like, alright, this could go one of two ways. It went both ways for sure, with a lot of mixed emotions. I tried my best not to go on social media and get my feelings hurt," he said. While the reaction among Red Sox fans certainly swayed one way after the trade was announced, it didn't take away from Tibbs' excitement. He said it was extremely humbling to be in the trade package for a player like Devers. "To be a part of something like that, it's very cool, very humbling. Very appreciative of the Red Sox giving me a chance to come and play here," said Tibbs. "Couldn't be a better spot, a better opportunity. I'm ecstatic to be here." Tibbs in the Cape Cod Baseball League Tibbs put together a solid campaign for the Whitecaps in his lone season on the Cape, slashing .303/.390/.472 with six homers, six doubles, 25 RBI, and 17 runs scored over 40 games. He was drawn to the region that summer, and hoped to return for his pro career. "I remember walking away like, 'Wow. This place is fantastic.' The people, the places, there are so many cool spots here. I'm a big food guy, and the food is phenomenal so I'm excited to be back for that as well," he said. What food is Tibbs looking forward to scarfing down the most? "Clams and lobster," he said. "It's hard to beat." Tibbs was drafted by the Giants with the 13th overall pick out of Florida State in 2024. He was hoping to go to Boston at 12th overall, but the Red Sox picked Braden Montgomery instead. (Montgomery was traded to the White Sox in the Garrett Crochet trade over the offseason.) "This was a place I had hoped to play one day," Tibbs said of the Red Sox. "I had hoped they picked me in the draft, but they didn't and now I'm here anyways. Pretty funny how the circle comes around in full." Tibbs is hoping to get a crack at Fenway Park in the near future. He was supposed to get a chance to hit some batting practice at the famous ballpark during a prospect day while with Brewster, but it was canceled because of rain when he was on-deck. "It's always been in the back of my mind. At least if I play one game in the big leagues with the Giants, I had hoped it was at Fenway. Now I get the opportunity to call it home," he said. "It's even cooler for me and even cooler for us as a family."

Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton delivered for his team yet again. With a clutch performance to lead the Pacers to a 138-135 win in OT of Game 1 against the New York Knicks, Indiana now enjoys a 1-0 lead in the ECF. Like most fans, Haliburton's dad, John Haliburton, was also seen celebrating the win, as a video of him dancing in a bar went viral on social media. The clip quickly went viral, not just for the feel-good moment, but because it came with some backstory. Advertisement John Haliburton was notably absent from MSG after being involved in a brief courtside confrontation with Giannis Antetokounmpo when the Pacers beat the Bucks in the first round. This eventually resulted in Haliburton's father being banned from future games. As a result, he was forced to sit this game out. But clearly, that didn't stop him from finding a way to support his son and enjoy a dramatic Game 1 win with the rest of Indiana. Waving the same towel featuring his son's face as he did in front of Antetokounmpo, Haliburton's father had every reason to be proud. The Pacers, led by Haliburton's 31 points and 11 assists, outlasted a gritty Knicks team in what can be labeled a playoff classic. Another clutch performer for the game was Aaron Nesmith, who came up with 30 points on the night, including some phenomenal three-point shooting in the final frame. Nesmith's barrage from beyond the arc allowed Indiana to remain within punching distance in the closing moments of the game. And with the ball in his hands, Haliburton gave the crowd another moment of pure magic. Advertisement The rest of the Pacers' starting lineup also made significant contributions to the game. With Pascal Siakam's 17 points providing some relief as well, it is safe to say that Indiana became the embodiment of excellence on Wednesday night. Haliburton's brilliance, given the circumstances, also led NBA legend Charles Barkley to request NBA commissioner Adam Silver to allow Haliburton's father to attend Games 3 and 4 in Indiana. For New York, Jalen Brunson continued his red-hot postseason form with 43 points and 5 assists, but his seven turnovers for the game certainly proved to be costly. Meanwhile, the 35-point contribution by Karl-Anthony Towns was also worth taking note of. Unfortunately for the Knicks, the Pacers simply caught the Knicks off guard and capitalized on the momentum built up by Nesmith and Haliburton. Advertisement The win puts the Pacers up 1-0 in the series and steals home-court advantage, a major statement for a team enjoying its first ECF win since 2014. Game 2 is set for Friday night, May 23, at 8:00 pm ET, again at Madison Square Garden. For the Knicks, it's a must-win to avoid heading to Indiana down 0-2. For the Pacers, it's an opportunity to tighten their grip on the series and take full control before heading back to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. If Haliburton plays anything like he did in Game 1, and if his dad keeps bringing the energy from afar, Indiana might just be dancing to the Finals. ‘Ginny And Georgia' Finally Dethroned In Netflix's Top 10 List By A New Show
Ginny and Georgia Outside of a brief brush with the WWE, Ginny and Georgia has remained on top of Netflix's top 10 list for a full two weeks since it released on June 5. Fans waited years for it to return, and they were not going to miss its arrival at last. But now, at long last, Ginny and Georgia has fallen down Netflix's top 10 list, dethroned by not just one but two new shows. It's now in third, and second place is America's Sweethearts: The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, the reality series following the auditions for the famed cheerleading team and their performances and drama behind the scenes. This is season 2, which my wife has already watched, and I'm struck by how little drama there is behind the scenes, as all the girls feel like best friends, for the most part. Top 10 The new number one show on Netflix is The Waterfront. Here's the synopsis: This very much reminds me of a previous Netflix series, Bloodlines, and then sprinkling in a bit of Ozark as well. I suppose, given that most people liked those shows, Netflix is trying to find another hit in that vein, as neither are airing anymore. I am interested in the series not because of its concept but because of its cast. First, it stars Holt McCallany, Netflix royalty as one of the two stars of Mindhunter. In giving interviews about The Waterfront, he made news that it was possible that Mindhunter may return for a third season in the form of three two-hour movies, which would essentially be six episodes, but it's all down to David Fincher. In another lead role is Melissa Benoist, who was the CW's Supergirl for multiple years, and she'll always have a special place in my heart for that, even as she's about to be replaced by Milly Alcock in the DCU (star of another big Netflix show in the past month, Sirens). I also know Humberly González, as she played the lead role in a recent video game, Star Wars Outlaws. Oh, and she's in 18 episodes of Ginny and Georgia, the show she just dethroned here alongside her cast. It remains to be seen how The Waterfront will perform. A top spot debut like this is a big deal. It has a 67% critic score, but that's only with six reviews in. There isn't enough data for an audience score yet, so we will wait and see.
