Samsung's next big flagship is turning heads for all the right reasons, and this time, it's all about sleek design and serious performance.
A new leak from reliable tipster Evan Blass has given us a closer look at the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, revealing key specifications that showcase a refined focus on portability without skimping on flagship features. Shared on X (formerly Twitter), the leak highlights an incredibly slim 5.8mm profile and a featherlight weight of just 163g, making it one of the thinnest and lightest premium smartphones on the horizon.
Despite the minimalist design, Samsung appears to be packing in top-tier hardware. The Galaxy S25 Edge will reportedly feature a titanium bezel paired with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, giving the device enhanced durability to handle daily wear and tear. According to the leak, the phone will come in three luxurious finishes: Titanium Icy Blue, Titanium Jet Black, and Titanium Silver.
Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 Edge is said to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite chip—the same high-performance processor used in the rest of the Galaxy S25 series. Combined with 12GB RAM and 256GB of base storage, users can expect fast, fluid performance across the board. The phone will also run on One UI 7, which is expected to bring a host of AI-powered enhancements for a smarter, more intuitive experience.
Camera capabilities also look promising. The device may include a 200MP primary rear camera with OIS, likely the same ISOCELL HP2 sensor used in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. On the front, a 12MP selfie camera is expected to deliver crisp results for video calls and social media.
However, the sleek design may come with one trade-off: battery life. The Galaxy S25 Edge is rumoured to house a 4,000mAh battery, which could raise concerns about endurance during heavy usage. Still, with power-efficient software and AI enhancements, Samsung might find a way to balance things out.
According to earlier reports from FNNews, the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to debut in South Korea on May 13, with pre-orders running from May 14 to 20, and sales starting May 23 in South Korea and China. A global release—including the U.S. and India—may follow on May 30, with the phone already spotted on India's BIS certification website.
As for pricing, the Galaxy S25 Edge is rumoured to land in the $1,099–$1,199 range in the U.S., which roughly translates to Rs 94,000 to Rs 1,02,600 in India. Final pricing is still under wraps, but this leak suggests Samsung's next flagship could be a sleek powerhouse tailored for premium users who want performance in a more portable package.

Belagavi: In a pioneering step towards integrating industry with academics, Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, has launched a novel initiative titled 'Industry Inside the Campus'. This move comes on the heels of the university making headlines for declaring exam results within an hour—yet another testament to its push towards student-centric reforms. To implement this new concept, VTU has established the Visvesvaraya Research and Innovation Foundation (VRIF) on its main campus, opening up space for companies in drone technology, software development, electric vehicles, IoT, PCB manufacturing, AR/VR, and more. These companies are now operational on campus, with full-fledged training for final-year engineering students set to begin from August. Speaking to this reporter , VTU Vice-Chancellor Prof. S. Vidyashankar said, 'Students now gain hands-on experience and practical exposure within the campus. We've established rapid innovation centres such as the Schneider Acceleration Centre, Proteus, Cadence, and an Electrical Vehicle Lab to bridge the skill gap. Through VRIF, we aim to create not just employees but future employers.' One of the key players in the initiative is Saras Aerospace, a startup established in 2022, specializing in carbon fiber drones and airframe production. Co-founder Brijesh Kumar Koparde noted, 'Thanks to VTU, we operate from within the campus. We train students not only in drone technology but also in equipment used for drone testing. We've delivered over 200 drones across the country, including to the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. Our product range includes drones valued between RS1.5 lakh and RS 30 lakh.'Currently, nearly 90 students are undergoing hands-on training with Saras Aerospace. Rajat Hanshate, a final-year engineering student, shared, 'I've developed an Unmanned Ground Vehicle during my internship here. From 3D modeling to integrating sensors and cameras, everything was facilitated. I gained immense exposure to the practical aspects of drone-making for both defence and agriculture.' Another student, Swastik Hegde, emphasized the value of his training, 'I've been interning here for two months. I've learned PCB design and IoT sensor integration. I even worked on a Retractor Landing Gear project. I'm truly grateful to VTU for creating such platforms.' The 'Industry Inside the Campus' initiative is expected to benefit at least 2,500 students in the coming academic year. The university hopes this integrated industry-academia ecosystem will not only make graduates job-ready but also empower them to become entrepreneurs. 'This is not just about employment, it's about entrepreneurship,' reiterated Prof. Vidyashankar.

Although the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) initially announced the pilot's launch by June 15, it has now pushed the date further to June 25, following repeated glitches in system performance during test runs. As part of the pilot, the civic body installed new traffic signals and high-resolution cameras at 10 major junctions across the city to test the core features of the Rs 197-crore state-funded IITMS project. These junctions were equipped with modern signal systems, surveillance units, and electronic infrastructure meant to streamline traffic flow, monitor violations, and reduce congestion. "However, the early outcomes have been far from encouraging. The signals and surveillance network are not functioning reliably. After the hardware was installed, communication and coordination issues between the signals, control room, and field devices prevented the system from operating seamlessly," confirmed a senior NMC official privy to the development. NMC has formally communicated its dissatisfaction to the contractor responsible for the implementation. Despite these ambitious goals, the on-ground situation tells a different story. The pilot project, which should have been a showcase for smart traffic management, has instead become a point of concern for authorities already battling public criticism over rising violations and worsening traffic conditions. According to sources, the electric department has also raised concerns over technical integration and electricity supply stability, which are affecting signal performance. Meanwhile, messages and displays on the new signal poles have attracted public curiosity, but the system itself remains non-functional.
