Statik Selektah Claps Back at DDG's Claim of Being First to Livestream the Making of an Album

Yahoo11-05-2025

Veteran hip-hop producer Statik Selektah is upset about DDG claiming he was the first person to livestream the making of an album in regards to his recent project Blame the Chat, which he put together live on Twitch.
The New England beatmaker took to Instagram to post a clip of DDG making the claim to TMZ and attached a caption laying out his own receipts.

'This is some bullsh–,' Statik wrote. 'We got receipts. 2010 me and Termanology made an EP live on livestream. Action Bronson first feature to hit the blogs. 2010 me and Freeway did the same. Young Mac Miller in the building. 2011 me and Freddie Gibbs did the same. Rip Fred the Godson was there amongst many others. 2019 me & Bun B do the first Trillstatik with Fat Joe, Method Man, Westside Gunn, Millyz, Nems, Benny [the Butcher], Boldy James etc. etc. We've done three more since. Stop it with the [cap].'
He added: 'The fans know. The industry does too. DDG, no ideas original.'
A few days ago, TMZ caught up with streamer and rapper DDG and talked about his new album.
'We changing the music industry forever,' he said. 'First to ever make an album live on Twitch. Revolutionary. The music industry getting boring, I had to spice it up. I don't really like how mysterious the music industry is, for real. I feel like it's better when artists connect closer with the fans so they can feel like they're more of a part of the process rather than just being surprised.'
Last week, DDG was on his stream when he offered fellow streamer IShowSpeed $2 million to make a cameo in one of the music videos he had planned for the project.

Forrest Frank Rules Top Gabb Music Songs Chart for Second Month, Charts 5 Songs in All

Forrest Frank's 'Your Way's Better' stalled the three-month reign of Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' 'Die With a Smile' on the monthly Top Gabb Music Songs chart when it reached No. 1 on the April 2025 tally, and now he's joined Gaga and Mars as the only other act with a multi-month No. 1, reigning again on the May 2025 survey. Billboard has partnered with Gabb Wireless, a phone company for kids and teens, to present a monthly chart tracking on-demand streams via its Gabb Music platform. Gabb Music offers a vast catalog of songs, all of which are selected by the Gabb team to include only kid- and teen-appropriate content. Gabb Music streams are not currently factored into any other Billboard charts. The song has topped the Hot Christian Songs chart for the last five weeks (dating to May 24) and has reached a best so far of No. 61 on the all-format Billboard Hot 100. It ranks at No. 68 on the latest list. 'Your Way's Better' is one of a whopping five Frank songs on the May 2025 Top Gabb Music Songs chart, thanks to a pair of debuts joining the three songs he already boasted on the ranking. 'No L's' and 'B.I.G.' debut at Nos. 14 and 19, respectively, while 'Drop!' reaches a new peak of No. 13 and 'Up!,' a collaboration with Connor Price, remains at its No. 25 best. Frank's five songs on the ranking equals the record set by Imagine Dragons on the inaugural Top Gabb Music Songs list for October 2024 — though notably, while Frank has the No. 1 song, Imagine Dragons' best that month was No. 16, with 'Bones.' Other moves on the latest chart include a three-spot leap for Alex Warren's 'Ordinary,' which reaches a new peak of No. 3 after its No. 6 debut on the April tally. 'Ordinary' has spent two weeks so far at No. 1 on the Hot 100, beginning with the June 7 survey. The only non-Frank debut of the week belongs to Morgan Wallen, whose 'What I Want,' which features Tate McRae, starts at No. 11. It was also a No. 1 on the Hot 100, debuting atop the May 31 list. Alligator on Florida golf course takes victory lap with stolen club

Footage has surfaced showing an alligator traversing a Florida pond while displaying a golf club like a trophy. Presumably, the golfer is OK. The footage, shared by WINK News meteorologist Matt Devitt, was captured at an Orlando golf course recently by a WINK viewer named Doug. 'Only in Florida,' Devitt joked via Instagram. 'I'd let him play through.' It's unclear if the alligator stole the club from a bag, if the club had been left near the pond, or if the golfer had tossed the club into the water during a tantrum. It's also unclear if the voice in the audio belongs to the golfer who lost the club. While alligator sightings on Florida golf courses are fairly routine, this was extraordinary. It looks as though the gator is using the club as a snorkel or, as one follower remarked, a periscope. The top Instagram comment, predictably, reads: 'What happened to the golfer?'

Google AI is worse at Pokemon than I was when I was 5 – taking 800 hours to beat the Elite 4 and having a breakdown when its HP got low

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. If you're someone who thinks AI is almost ready to take over the world, I have some good or bad (depending on your stance on things) news for you: Google's Gemini 2.5 Pro took over 800 hours to beat the 29-year-old children's game Pokemon Blue. There's a Twitch account called Gemini_Plays_Pokemon, a pale imitation of the incredible Twitch Plays Pokemon account that started this trend. First things first: how long did it take the AI to actually complete the game? Well, it was a staggering 813 hours. I feel like you could hit buttons randomly and beat the game faster than that. After some tweaks by the creator of this Twitch channel, the AI managed to halve its time to a still outrageous 406.5 hours. That is actually dead on half the time, which is interesting mathematically but still far too long to beat a game you can win with an overleveled Venusaur. Additionally, as spotted by our friends at PC Gamer, Google DeepMind reported on the Twitch account, and something unusual happens whenever its Pokemon get low on health or power points (PP). Whenever one or both of these conditions are met, "model performance appears to correlate with a qualitatively observable degradation in the model's reasoning capability – for instance, completely forgetting to use the pathfinder tool in stretches of gameplay while this condition persists." This, combined with the AI mistakenly thinking it was playing FireRed and LeafGreen and would need to find the Tea to progress, are part of the reasons it took so long to finish. Honestly, AI just isn't very good at playing Pokemon. Someone else made Claude Plays Pokemon, and that AI spent hours trying to get out of Cerulean city because it kept jumping down a ledge to talk to an NPC it had already spoken to dozens of times. So, these AIs aren't able to beat a game that we could when we barely knew our times tables. Let's not worry about them taking our jobs any time soon. In the meantime, check out the best Pokemon games of all time.
