YORK Valkyrie have added French international Sarah Menaa to their ranks.
Menaa joins the Valkyrie for the remainder of the 2025 season, having made the switch from Catalans Goddesses.
The 21-year-old has been a part of the Catalans team that won the French Championships on three different occasions, whilst also being capped four times for the France national team.

Menaa is able to operate at either prop or in the second-row, and has been described as both a strong attacker and defender, arriving into York with a reputation of being a highly-skilled player.
Menaa commented after her move to the Valkyrie was announced: 'I'm really excited to come to York and to have the opportunity to play in the Super League.
'It's a huge challenge for me, and I'll give everything I have to help the Valkyries go all the way!"
Valkyrie's Director of Rugby Lindsay Anfield added: 'Sarah is a hard hitting middle who has good ball handling skills, as well as enjoying the contact aspect of the game.

'She has a wealth of experience playing rugby league for Catalans and for the French national team, and I think she will thrive in our environment.
'In the past we have had training camps in Perpignan where Sarah has trained with us and shown she has the talent to be competitive in our league.
'Competition for shirts is what we need going into this next stage of the season, and we look forward to seeing what she can do in Valk colours.'
Menaa could make her debut for York in Saturday's game at Leigh Leopards' Golborne Parkside (2pm), with her arrival coming at a good time for the Valkyrie, who announced on social media last night that first-team options Kelsey Gentles and Jess Sharp have left the club.

Sharp has since been announced as a Leeds Rhinos player, having won York's Young Player of the Year for the 2024 season.
Gentles' exit comes as a surprise after initially joining the club in 2021, having also scored a try in the last season's Women's Super League Grand Final for the Valkyrie.

Kevin Durant Buys Minority Stake in Champions League's Paris Saint-Germain

NBA star Kevin Durant has purchased a minority stake in Champions League winner Paris Saint-Germain, the French soccer club said Friday. Qatar Sports Investments, PSG's majority shareholder, signed an investment and strategic partnership agreement with Durant, the club said in a statement. Financial terms were not disclosed. The announcement comes amid talks between the NBA, FIBA and other entities about the potential of adding a new league in Europe. Durant will provide expertise on the PSG's multi-port strategy, including potential expansion into basketball, the club said. "Under the terms of the partnership, Durant — via his media and investment company Boardroom, co-founded with long-time business partner Rich Kleiman — will acquire a direct minority stake in the club," PSG's statement said. The Phoenix Suns forward is a two-time NBA champion and became the first four-time men's gold medalist in Olympic basketball history when the U.S. took gold at last summer's Paris Games. This also isn't his first soccer venture, as he has a minority stake and consulting agreement with MLS' club, the Philadelphia Union. "It is an honor to partner with QSI and be a shareholder in Paris Saint-Germain — a club and city that is deeply close to my heart," the 36-year-old Durant said in comments provided by PSG. "This club has big plans and I look forward to being part of the next phase of growth and exploring new investment opportunities with QSI." PSG added that Durant will support the club's diversification and growth strategy, as well as the club's development in the U.S. and other international markets. "Together with Kevin, we look forward to developing ambitious initiatives that will drive the continued global growth of Paris Saint-Germain and QSI," PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi said. Norway international Ingrid Engen joins Lyon from Barcelona

OL Lyonnes have completed the signing of Ingrid Engen following her Barcelona departure. Engen, 27, has signed a two-year contract with the French champions that runs until 2027. Barcelona confirmed on June 11 that the versatile Norway international would be leaving the club after four years, during which she won 13 trophies with the Catalans. Advertisement 'The club is pleased to be able to rely on Ingrid Engen's experience and qualities for the next two seasons, and is pleased to have convinced her to commit to the Lyonnes project,' a club statement read. Engen becomes Lyon's latest signing in a busy summer, with France striker Marie-Antoinette Katoto also joining this month, while reported on June 12 that Lyon had expressed serious interest in 18-year-old Ajax and U.S. women's national team midfielder Lily Yohannes. Midfielder Danielle van de Donk, meanwhile, has moved to London City Lionesses, who are also owned by Michele Kang. Earlier this month, the record eight-time Champions League winners appointed Jonathan Giraldez as their new head coach following the departure of Joe Montemurro. Advertisement Engen joined Barcelona from Wolfsburg in 2021 and won two Champions League titles and Liga F on four occasions during her time in Spain. Capable of playing in defence and midfielder, she made 152 appearances for Barca and featured 35 times across Liga F and the Champions League last season. She was introduced as a second-half substitute during their Champions League final loss to Arsenal. Engen has been capped 83 times by Norway and has been named in their 2025 European Championship squad. This article originally appeared in The Athletic.
