Rumble in the Jumble: Traid, Beyond Retro, Charity Super.Mkt link for one-day resale event
The British jumble sale is humble no longer. The mid-2020's version has been elevated to a new status, hence the launch of 'The Super Jumble' - a 'high-energy, large-scale reinvention' that's coming to London for just one day via secondhand fashion pioneers charity Traid, vintage retailer Beyond Retro and, of course, Charity Super.Mkt.
The trio is joining forces for the first time 'to tackle fashion waste in a fun, affordable, and inclusive way' with the event taking place at Mercato Metropolitano in Elephant & Castle on 14 June.
The event will feature multiple "rumbles in the jumble" with prices dropping throughout the day, a live DJ soundtrack, MCs, street food and 'thousands' of vintage and secondhand fashion items.
The organisers say the one-day festival of 'rummaging, reusing and reimagining' is what 'secondhand fashion can look like' as 'part fashion mission, part Saturday rave, part sustainability statement'.
And the target is to attract over 1,000 people through the door. It opens at 09:00 to early-bird ticketholders (£7) with the first 'Rumble in the Jumble' starting at 09:30 with everything priced £7 for 45 minutes until 10:15. Then a second 'Rumble' begins at 10:30 with a £4.50 ticket entry and all items priced £4.50. Noon sees the final entry wave at £2, with every item then priced at just £2 before it closes at 14:00.
All sales will be powered by a digital self-checkout system, 'ensuring a quick and seamless experience'.
Wayne Hemingway, co-founder of Charity Super.Mkt, said: 'The jumble sale gave me my start in fashion in the 70s and 80s — the thrill of the hunt, the community, the joy. Super Jumble brings that magic back, but on a massive scale. It's fun, affordable, and a necessary answer to fast fashion's impact on people and the planet.'
Maria Chenoweth, CEO of Traid and co-founder of Super Jumble and Charity Super.Mkt, added: 'The fashion industry is producing more than ever before, and there are enough garments on Earth to clothe the next six generations. Super Jumble aims to keep clothes in use, make style accessible, and increase the UK's adoption of second-hand fashion — all for the good of the planet.'

Burberry takes over The Standard Ibiza's rooftop for the summer
Burberry is the latest luxury brand to link up with a summer resort and is collaborating with The Standard, Ibiza, for a 'joyful takeover of the hotel's seasonal rooftop bar and restaurant, UP'. The company said the takeover blends 'style, escapism, and an unmistakable British attitude'. Specially created for the link-up, a bespoke Burberry Check blends the check with The Standard's signature yellow. The custom design takes over UP with loungers, parasols, and branded seating – and can also be seen on Check Mate, 'a Burberry boat making waves along the Ibiza shoreline'. The company also said that 'framed by sunset views, the rooftop comes alive with weekly Burberry-curated cocktail evenings, soundtracked by guest DJs spinning from a custom-built booth. Poolside, the vibe sets the scene for golden-hour lounging. Inside, a branded photo booth in the lobby invites guests to capture their summer in style'. And of course, there's a product element as the location showcases a curated edit of Burberry summer staples available to buy – 'from light layers and sun-ready separates to poolside essentials in seasonal Burberry Check'. There's swimwear, sunglasses, and hats. Seasonal resort takeovers have become increasingly popular un recent years, whether for beach locations or ski resorts, as luxury brands put their branding and curated product offers in front of the kinds of shoppers they want to attract just at the point when they might be in a free-spending frame of mind.

On and FKA twigs launch first co-designed products
British singer FKA twigs is continuing her collaboration with premium sports band On and this month will see them launching their first collab capsule. 'Building on the creative partnership' behind 'The Body is Art' campaign in which she starred, this capsule is the first co-designed collection between On and FKA twigs. The company said it's a 'milestone in the evolving creative partnership that continues to push the boundaries of movement and self-expression. Inspired by FKA twigs' dynamic lifestyle and passion for training across different disciplines, the collection blends performance and style in a way that mirrors how she moves through the world — from the studio to the street to the stage'. She's helped create both apparel and footwear with pieces 'intended for layering, comfort, and individual styling — with silhouettes designed to transition through different moments of the day'. The footwear meanwhile 'features a dance-inspired silhouette crafted to support freedom of movement'. There's also a campaign creatively directed by FKA twigs and brought to life via photographer Jordan Hemingway with 'surreal moving images' by multimedia artist Zeel Free. Together, the visuals "explore the multifaceted nature of twigs' identity as an artist, performer, and dreamer. She appears suspended in time, gliding through clouds in expressive poses that feel both weightless and timeless. Each look becomes a canvas for transformation, drawing the viewer into a fluid, dreamlike study of form and movement'. Key pieces in the capsule include the Studio Bra FKA, designed with contrast stitching and a low-cut shape and 'delivering a 'no feel' sensation during training'; the Studio Short FKA introduces a new 2-in-1-style silhouette with a skirt front and shorts back in soft fabric; and the Cloud x FKA shoe made from woven material with a satin feel — 'a dance-inspired design made for motion'. Along with other pieces, it all launches via On's webstore on 26 June.
