Tyreek Hill runs 100 meters in 10.15 seconds at California track meet
Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill showed up with little fanfare at a track meet in California on Friday and won the 100-meter dash with an impressive time of 10.15 seconds.
That's an incredibly fast race considering that Hill is 31 years old and hadn't run track competitively since college, and shows that if Hill had wanted to focus on track instead of football, he has the talent to be an elite sprinter. DK Metcalf, who competed in a 100-meter race in 2021, was widely praised for his time of 10.37 seconds. Hill bested Metcalf's time easily.

Hill's race was part of the Last Chance Sprint Series, and the competition Hill beat was solid: Isaac Bostio, who was last year's NCAA Division II national champion in the 100 meters, finished second among all the 100-meter runners at the meet, behind Hill at 10.18 seconds. In Hill's own heat, the second-place finisher was former Michigan sprinter Asani Hampton in 10.26 seconds.
Hill has been talking up a race with Noah Lyles, and after winning the race on Friday, Hill held up a sign saying, "Noah could never." The reality is Lyles could beat Hill easily in a 100-meter sprint, but Hill still did something incredibly impressive on the track on Friday.

Court rules Reggie Bush must pay Lloyd Lake $1.4 million in defamation lawsuit
On Friday, a judge ruled in favor of sports agent Lloyd Lake in a defamation lawsuit against former USC star running back Reggie Bush. Per the judge's ruling, Bush must pay Lake $1.4 million. Lake, of course, was the agent at the center of Bush's improper benefits scandal that lives in USC infamy. As a result of the scandal, the Trojans were handed a two-year postseason ban and lost 30 scholarships over the course of three seasons. Following the news, Los Angeles Times USC beat writer Ryan Kartje offered more details: 'Lake filed the suit against Bush back in February 2023 — along with his parents, Roy and Barbara Gunner — alleging that Bush publicly disparaged and defamed him during a podcast appearance and in social media posts and, as such, violated the non-disparagement clause they agreed upon in a previous settlement,' Kartje wrote. 'The comments, according to Lake and his parents' complaint, 'created a firestorm of vitriol' that saw the Gunner home vandalized with graffiti and left them fearing for their safety. 'The judge's decision this week came more than 15 years after the first explosive lawsuit between the two men was settled. That suit, which Lake first filed in 2007, claimed that he and another businessman, Michael Michaels, had provided Bush and his family with cash, a car, rent-free use of a house and other gifts while he played at USC in 2004 and 2005 with the expectation Bush would sign with Lake and his fledgling sports management company, New Era Sports & Entertainment. The first case was settled in April 2010, just before Bush and Michaels were scheduled to be deposed. But Lake's account of their arrangement, which violated NCAA rules, had already prompted a firestorm, one that ultimately ended in severe sanctions for USC's football program, the vacating of the Trojans' 2004 national title and the return of Bush's Heisman Trophy.' Somehow, there is still new news in this case more than 15 years after USC received its original NCAA sanctions, and nearly 20 years after Bush last suited up for the Trojans. USC fans are certainly hoping that this ruling can bring closure, and that all parties can finally put the scandal behind them.

Knights score late to sink Dolphins as Bostock injured
Newcastle forward Brodie Jones scored in the final minute to sink the injury-hit Dolphins 26-20 in a thriller in Perth and keep the Knights' finals hopes alive. Jones chased through a bomb and showed great determination to plant the ball down after Knights captain Kalyn Ponga had set up two tries in a brilliant display. The Knights lost Sharpe to an HIA and then centre Dane Gagai was sin-binned for a professional foul in the second half. Katoa combined with versatile Kurt Donoghoe to put winger Jamayne Isaako over in the corner. The Dolphins turned it on from their own tryline to take the lead with centre Herbie Farnworth igniting a move that was finished by Tabuai-Fidow. Texas A&M Softball adds depth, eyes return to host Regionals in 2026
Texas A&M's softball season came to an abrupt end in the Bryan-College Station Regional, despite being picked as one of the favorites to reach the NCAA Women's College World Series. To add insult to injury, SEC newcomer Texas won its first World Series in program history while A&M watched from home. After some time for reflection, which Coach Ford admitted was difficult, she knew she needed to hit the portal to replace lost production and solidify the infield. In a surprise to fans, Texas A&M star utility player Amari Harper entered the portal for her final season. Harper, one of the last recruits from Jo Evans who remained after Ford took over, understandably wanted to test the waters. Outside of Harper, the Aggies had a relatively quiet portal season with only a few departures. Coach Ford, however, is focused on improvement, bringing in a handful of talented players that include an NCAA career leader in saves and a Golden Glove winner.
