"This year's Ramadan drama has offered a lot of soap opras, but nothing would have happened if there were some serious topics."
With these words, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi expressed the feelings of citizens who are watching soap operas these days. It was a frank and respectful call for drama productions that respect traditions, customs, and the sanctity of the holy month.
But this doesn't mean that all dramas were bad. Most of them were good dramas that combated the theft of antiquities and discussed serious issues.
However, some, including non-Egyptian channels, revolved around belly dancers, drugs, and crime.
All people want purposeful drama, because it is the soft power capable of influencing society. However, we need purposeful dramas that elevate their standards and values, highlight the Egyptian people, the proud bearers of their ancient civilization, and highlight their values and morals.
We hope to see dramatic works that embody Egyptian heroism in the fields of science, war, and peace. This is what countries that strive to build strong new generations do, fostering a sense of belonging, a desire to work, and ambition for the future.
Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly immediately implemented the President's directives and began work on developing a plan to review the content of upcoming drama productions. The goal is to present themes that reflect Egypt's new identity and support the values we seek to instill in society, such as hard work, belonging, and building the future with a spirit of seriousness and commitment.
Having a look at this year's Ramadan drama, the question remains: What have these works offered us? What principles and values have they instilled? Where is the soap operas that expressed the spirit of the new republic? And where is the soap operas that embodied the historical moment we are currently experiencing?
I would have loved to see a series addressing the challenges and achievements of building the new administrative capital, or the heroism of Egyptians in supporting Gaza, or a work documenting the efforts made to develop Sinai, or other topics that reflect the true image of Egypt; a modern Egypt that looks with all its energy to the future, without forgetting its identity and values.
I'm sure that the presidential directives, which the Prime Minister is closely monitoring, will make this coming Ramadan a season with a different flavor: one of hard work and diligence, respect, and adherence to public morals.
We want drama that showcases the true essence of the authentic Egyptian people, a nation of civilization and generosity. We want drama that reflects the features of the new Egypt, contributes to building awareness, and restores Egyptian drama to its status as a soft power that influences society and contributes to its renaissance and progress.

Serbia's PM Visits GEM, NMEC & Pyramids
Ali abodeshish Dr. Đuro Macut, Prime Minister of Serbia, visited the Grand Egyptian Museum, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, and the Giza Pyramids, accompanied by a high-level delegation including several ministers and members of the Serbian Parliament. At the Grand Egyptian Museum, they were received by Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, who welcomed the delegation. He introduced the museum's history and structure, in addition to its most valuable artifacts. The Serbian Prime Minister and his delegation toured the museum including main exhibition halls, where they received detailed illustrations about the exhibits and the significance of the museum's unique collection. At the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, they were welcomed by Dr. Al-Tayeb Abbas, CEO of the museum, who gave an overview of the museum's unique location, its history, and its exceptional archaeological collections that narrate the story of Egyptian civilization across the ages. He also presented the museum's cultural and social role, and accompanied them on a tour of the main Exhibition Hall, the Royal Mummies Hall, and the Egyptian Textile Hall. The Serbian Prime Minister and his delegation also visited the Giza Pyramids area, where they were welcomed by Mr. Ashraf Mohie El-Din, Director General of Giza Antiquities. He guided them through the archaeological site, including a visit to the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx, during which they met the story of the Pyramids construction. During these visits, the Serbian Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation were keen to take photos at the museums and archaeological sites. Mohamed Mounir.. Malamehna
Elham Aboul Fateh Mohamed Mounir's latest song "Malamehna" came to delight us as usual with his songs that touch the soul and heart. After an artistic silence that lasted more than a year, the king Mohamed Mounir returns with his new song, "Malamehna." He says, "Every time we photograph our features... we aren't always who we are. Sometimes we appear calmer in the picture... and sometimes we appear alone in the gathering. Every time we bak-pats ourselves… we are slaughtered by memories. Every time we gather our wounds… our hearts ache." What distinguishes Mounir is that he doesn't just present songs, but rather creates entire worlds of emotions. In "Malamehna," we hear that magical blend of authenticity and modernity that we've always longed for. The melody bears the imprint of ancient Nubia, while the lyrics touch upon the space shared by all Egyptians and Arabs—the space of memories, identity, and belonging. Mounir is a son of great Nubia, the brown land that gave birth to an ancient civilization with roots dating back thousands of years. Nubia is not just a place, but a civilization and a human heritage, the land of Pharaonic temples, towering mountains, and the Nile River. This great cultural heritage is reflected in Mounir's voice, where in his tones you hear the echo of ancestors' hymns, and in his melodies you sense the antiquity and radiance of the land. The beautiful thing about Mounir is that, despite his global fame, he has always remained a simple, knows exactly how to speak to people using the language of the heart. In "Malamehna," we find that rare balance between artistic depth, simplicity, and authenticity, modernity. The song is like a reassuring message to his listeners: "No matter how times change, there will always be true art that speaks to the soul." Mohamed Mounir has a long and varied artistic history, "El Leila Ya Samra", "Shajar El-Lemon" "Younes", ",Hadota Masreya" "Fi Eshk El Banat"... Over the course of decades, he has shaped our artistic and emotional features. It's strange that I haven't seen him honored, even though the whole world has honored him in Germany, America, and elsewhere. But I hope that he would be honored, and that musical festivals will celebrate him, or that we will name a music hall after him, or that his house in Nubia will be turned into a museum. Mohamed Mounir shaped a new generation emotionally, and this return is an occasion to celebrate and honor an artist who has been sowing joy in our hearts for years. Mounir, who sang about love, homeland, and life, returns today to remind us that true beauty never fades, and that some voices remain immortal because they are simply a part of us. Netflix original series ‘Catalog' starring Mohamed Farag to premiere on July 17
Actor Mohamed Farag is awaiting the premiere of his latest Netflix original series 'Catalog,' co-starring Reham Abdel-Ghafour. The series is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on July 17. It also stars Tara Emad, Khaled Kamal, Bayoumi Fouad, Samah Anwar, Sedky Sakhr, Donia Sami, Ali el-Bili, Retal Abdel-Aziz, and Ahmed Essam al-Sayed. It is written by Ayman Wattar, and directed by Walid el-Halfawy. Catalog tells the story of Youssef, a father who finds himself with the heavy responsibility of raising his two children alone after his wife, Amina, passes away. Having been separated from his children's daily lives for some time, he struggles to connect with them. Youssef is lost and confused until he finds a series of videos Amina recorded before her death, which include advice on raising children. These videos become his daily guide, helping him overcome the pain of loss, reconnecting him with his children, and revealing a side of himself he hadn't known before. Catalog was preceded by five Egyptian series produced by Netflix, including 'Paranormal,' which premiered in 2020; 'Drama Queen,' which premiered in 2021; and 'Echoes of the Past,' which premiered in late 2024.
