The Scottish Championship side have been extremely active in the transfer window already, with Ben Crompton, Ross Docherty, Aaron Lyall, Gary Mackay-Steven and Declan Gallagher arriving at Dingwall this summer. Ex-Hearts target in Euro link Former Kilmarnock winger Danny Armstrong has 'several' clubs chasing his signature this summer, following his departure from Rugby Park. The 27-year-old is currently a free agent following the expiration of his contract, and had been strongly linked with a move to Hearts in recent months, with reports claiming he had met with the club to discuss a potential pre-contract agreement as far back as January. However, a move to Tynecastle looks to have broken down in recent weeks, allowing other clubs to circle for his signature. According to a new report, Armstrong is now been targeted by Polish outfit Jagiellonia Białystok, who are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of UEFA Conference League qualifiers. The midfielder won the Serie A title in his debut campaign at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium last season, and has been hailed a hero in Italy after scoring 12 goals on the way to winning the Scudetto. Joining alongside fellow international team Billy Gilmour, the former Manchester United academy midfielder was also awarded the Serie A's best player of the year award. The 30-year-old has been linked with a departure from the Gers this summer, despite his goal-laden season with the club last year, with Dessers said to have already 'agreed' terms over a move to AEK Athens. The Greek side are believed to be offering a deal worth around £4million for the forward, though Rangers new owners are holding out for a fee of closer to £5million. The £1million discrepancy means the move has been delayed in recent weeks, with reports claiming the Gers striker is happy to join the Greek Super League outfit, and will put pen to paper on a three-year contract with the club. However, according to a new report, the move could take a step forward this week after AEK placed a 48-hour deadline on the move being completed. Marko Nikolić's side begin their pre-season preparations in the Netherlands today, and is hoping that Dessers will be able to link up with the squad in the coming days. The Rangers transfers Russell Martin needs revealed as AEK set Dessers deadline and Shankland a no-brainer

It's all systems go at the Light Blues as pre-season returns and all eyes turn to the crucial Champions League qualifiers It's all systems go at Rangers with Russell Martin really getting into his new role at Ibrox. And he's had to, with his players returning for pre-season today. However, the one thing that may disappoint fans at this stage is the lack of new faces making their way through the Auchenhowie gates. Lyall Cameron - who will miss the start of the training under the news boss through injury - is the only new arrival so far after a pre-contract from Dundee that was already sorted before the new coaching staff and 49ers Enterprises completed their takeover. with Dor Turgeman is another tipped for a striker role. Speaking of attackers and one man who could be off is Cyriel Dessers. AEK Athens have made him a No1 priority signing and as they get set to head to their own pre-season camp they want the striker onboard. The Scottish Sun report the Greek giants are pushing hard to tie up a move in the next 48 hours. Record Sport exclusively revealed that star man Nico Raskin is wanted down south by Wolves and after confirming earlier this summer the exits of Leon Balogun, Tom Lawrence and Ianis Hagi - the more that head out the way, means more on top of what is already required to come in the door. Our man Keith Jackson reckons Rangers need at least SIX bodies on top of Aarons - and that is before factoring in if any clubs firm up interest in Raskin or colleague Mohamed Diomande which would mean a midfield rebuild. Speaking in our Monday Jury, he stated: "Max Aarons is a decent start but Martin needs so much more than just a right back. "Two central defenders will be needed as well as a left back, a couple of wingers and at least one striker. "If Nico Raskin and/or Mohamed Diomande move on this summer then he'll need to rebuild his midfield too." An ally of new boss Martin has also expressed his surprise that Rangers have not made a move for a certain striker. The player in question of course is Lawrence Shankland, who is out of contract at Hearts. They are desperate to keep him as he weighs up his next move and his former boss and Rangers hitman Steven Naismith reckons he would be a 'safe bet' and would pretty much guarantee 15-20 goals. He said: 'In one respect, I'm surprised Rangers haven't gone for him. Because I think Shanks is as safe a bet as you're going to get when it comes to scoring goals in Scotland. 'What goes against him is probably his mobility. But for me, he's a really intelligent player now. He's a link between midfield and attack, as well as a goal scorer. 'It would be a free transfer but it's still expensive for Rangers to sign players who are scoring 30 goals a season. ‌ 'I'm sure Shanks will have some offers because for two seasons he's been unbelievable. 'Could he play in Russell's team? I think he could. From the moment I played with Shanks in Scotland to when I was coaching him, it was always about his intelligence. 'Where he picks positions up, he's got a real finesse about his touch. Then he's got that calmness in the final third that makes him different. 'I definitely think he could fit in. He fits a lot of the criteria for Rangers. 'Getting goal scorers who can near enough guarantee you 15-20 goals a season are hard to come by. And at the Old Firm they're very good to have around."

Woody Johnson signs £190m deal to buy John Textor's shares in Crystal Palace

Woody Johnson has agreed a deal to buy John Textor's stake in Crystal Palace, with a sale to the New York Jets owner likely to be ratified by the Premier League within four weeks. In a move that could be a major boost to Palace's hopes of playing in next season's Europa League, it is understood that Johnson's offer of £190m for Textor's 44.9% stake was signed on Sunday evening in the United States. The 78-year-old, who has owned the Jets since 2000 and missed out on buying Chelsea in 2022 after making a $2bn offer, mustpass the Premier League's owners' and directors' test before he can complete the purchase. But it is understood that with Palace under pressure from Uefa to comply with its regulations on multi club ownership, the league is expected to act swiftly to aid their cause. A decision on the FA Cup winners' participation in the Europa League is due this week, although it is believed this latest development will be looked on favourably by Uefa. Textor has come under increasing pressure from Palace's chair, Steve Parish, and the other co-owners – Textor's fellow Americans Josh Harris and David Blitzer – to complete the sale as quickly as possible. The four Palace co-owners were part of the delegation that attended a meeting at Uefa's headquarters in Nyon this month and argued that Textor, the majority shareholder in the French club Lyon, who have also qualified for the Europa League, does not have a decisive influence at Selhurst Park despite being the largest shareholder. It is expected that Johnson's arrival should clear the way for Oliver Glasner's side to take their place in the league stage. It remains to be seen whether the former US ambassador to the UK, who has made no secret of his desire to buy an English football club, has his sights on a full takeover. Harris and Blitzer, who bought stakes worth a combined 36% in 2015 and have portfolios of investments across a number of sports, are believed to be willing to sell, owing to concerns about the ballooning costs of building a new main stand, which some sources are predicting could reach up to £240m. Textor, who failed with an audacious attempt at a takeover of Palace in May in a last-ditch attempt to assume control, is understood to have been reluctant to leave the club in which he has invested about £180m since buying a 40% stake for almost £90m in August 2021. Yet he had a major falling-out with Parish, who owns just over 10% but is the executive chair of the managing company that is in charge of Palace and retains the casting vote, over resistance to embracing his Eagle Football network that also includes the South American champions Botafogo and the Belgian side Daring Brussels. Textor is expected to turn his attention to another English club. The former Palace owner Simon Jordan revealed last week that he recommended to Textor buying the Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, who were last week hit with a ban on transfer spending until 2027 last week for the repeated failure to pay players' wages. 'I was talking to John Textor the other day, and if he comes out of Palace, I was saying to him that is the football club you should be buying if you want to buy another English club,' said Jordan.
