alleging that "hundreds of BJP workers were killed in West Bengal" after the TMC chief became chief minister.
Addressing the BJP workers in Kolkata, Shah said, "For years, Bengal was ruled by communists.
After that, Mamata Banerjee came by with the slogan 'Maa, Maati, Maanush'. She converted the great land of Bengal into a land of infiltration, atrocities on women, crime, bomb blasts and immorality with Hindus.

Expressing confidence in his party, he added, "Didi, listen to me, your time is over now. The BJP will form the government in 2026."
He further challenged the CM to "contest elections without violence". "If Didi (Mamata Banerjee) has courage, she should try to contest elections without violence, her deposit would be seized," he said.
"Mamata Banerjee has crossed all limits of appeasement for the votebank... Our people were killed in Pahalgam... Under Operation Sindoor, we went 100km (inside Pakistan) and destroyed their headquarters. 100s of terrorists were killed, and this hurts Didi's stomach...
She gave a political speech and opposed Operation Sindoor. She has also played with the emotions of crores of women in the country... The sisters and mothers of West Bengal should teach Mamata Banerjee the value of Sindoor in the upcoming elections," he added.
"I assure that as soon as the TMC is removed from power, those responsible for the murders of our party workers will be punished, even if they are hiding under the ground," he said.
Earlier in the day, he inaugurated the newly constructed Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Rajarhat, on the outskirts of Kolkata, stating that the facility will enhance a comprehensive approach to investigating complex cases in the eastern and northeastern regions. Shah is on a two-day visit to Bengal.

The Ahmedabad Cyber Crime police on Monday arrested a senior consultant at Deloitte, Chennai, for allegedly sending 21 hoax bomb threats to schools, a medical college, and a stadium in Gujarat — all in an 'attempt to frame a man she was in love with, but who had married someone else.' The accused, identified as Rene Joshilda from Chennai, allegedly created fake email IDs in the name of Divij Prabhakar, the person she intended to implicate, and sent a series of threatening messages between May and June 2025. According to the police, Joshilda also falsely claimed responsibility for the Air India flight AI-171 crash in Ahmedabad on June 12, stating in an email that the pilots were 'working for her'. One of the first threats was received by Geneva Liberal School on June 3, with the email stating: 'Police are sleeping, they cannot do anything… We are going to blast a bomb in your school to bring to police's attention about the rapist who raped the girl in Lemon Tree hotel in Hyderabad in 2023.' Following a complaint from the school, an FIR was lodged at the Cyber Crime police station in Ahmedabad. The investigation led officers to Chennai, where Joshilda was arrested. She allegedly confessed to sending the emails and to fabricating multiple IDs in Prabhakar's name. 'She had a one-sided relationship with Divij Prabhakar, who married someone else in February 2025,' said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sharad Singhal at a press conference. 'To frame him, she created multiple email accounts in his name and used them to send bomb threats across the country. She also used the dark web to mask her digital footprint.' Joshilda, a robotics engineer by qualification, allegedly sent threats not only in Gujarat but to 11 other states, targeting events involving VIP movement or large gatherings. 'These threats misdirected police resources and spread panic among citizens,' said JCP Singhal. 'Her arrest is significant, especially with the Jagannath Rath Yatra scheduled in Ahmedabad on June 27.' In Gujarat alone, Joshilda is said to have sent four threat emails to Geneva Liberal School on June 3, 5, 12, and 15, three emails to Divya Jyoti School in Bopal on June 14 and 15, and 13 threats to the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 7 and 13. One of the emails to the stadium read: *'Bomb successfully planted in Narendra Modi Stadium… India has 1,500 trained military and army involved in this mission for Operation Sindoor. Women officers take the lead… India is prepared with more drones to attack…' On June 12, following the Air India crash, she also allegedly sent an email to BJ Medical College: 'I think now you know power. Like we sent you a mail yesterday, we crashed the Air India plane with our former CM… Well done to our pilot. Now you know we are not playing.' The Gujarat Police are coordinating with counterparts in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Bihar, Telangana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana, where similar hoax threats were reportedly sent.

The by-election was held following the death of her father and former MLA Nasiruddin Ahmed in February this to the Election Commission of India (ECI), Alifa secured 1,02,759 votes, while BJP's Ashish Ghosh received 52,710 votes. Pakistan will go to war if India denies water under IWT, says Bilawal Bhutto
Pakistan's former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Monday said his country will go to war if India denies Islamabad its fair share of water under the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT). India put in abeyance the 1960 agreement soon after the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack that killed 26 people. Home Minister Amit Shah last week announced to never restore the historic accord. Bilawal's comments came two days after Pakistan's Foreign Ministry criticised Shah's "brazen disregard" for international agreements. Bilawal, in a speech in parliament, rejected the Indian decision to suspend the agreement and threatened to get Pakistan's share of water. "India has two options: share water fairly, or we will deliver water to us from all six rivers," he said referring to the six rivers of the Indus basin. Live Events He said that the IWT was still in vogue as the agreement cannot be held in abeyance. "The attack on Sindhu (Indus River) and India's claim that the IWT has ended and it's in abeyance. Firstly, this is illegal, as the IWT is not in abeyance, it is binding on Pakistan and India, but the threat itself of stopping water is illegal according to the UN charter," he said. Bilawal, who is head of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), also threatened that if India decides to follow through on the threat, "we will have to wage war again". The former foreign minister also highlighted the importance of talks and cooperation, especially in counterterrorism efforts. "If India and Pakistan refuse to talk, and if there is no coordination on terrorism, then violence will only intensify in both countries," he said. Bilawal also accused India of "weaponising terrorism for political purposes". He claimed that during his diplomatic visits to the UK and European nations as foreign minister, it was evident that India had lobbied hard to reverse Pakistan's progress on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) front. "At a time when Pakistan had successfully moved from the FATF grey list to the white list, India made every effort to drag us back to the grey list using false narratives and diplomatic pressure," he claimed. Bilawal also said that Pakistan succeeded in raising the issue of Kashmir on the world stage and President Donald Trump had spoken in favour of mediation on Kashmir. Apart from immediate steps such as putting the IWT in abeyance and stopping all trade with Pakistan, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terrorist infrastructure in territories controlled by Pakistan in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. The strikes triggered four days of intense clashes that ended with an understanding on stopping the military actions on May 10.
