Watch: Comedian Rohan Joshi Explains Why Sachin Tendulkar Should Not Be Reddit's Brand Ambassador

As Reddit announced cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar as its brand ambassador, comedian Rohan Joshi shared his thoughts in a now-viral Instagram reel. In the clip, Joshi called out Reddit's decision, saying that Sachin Tendulkar is a legend and deserves all the love, but he is the wrong pick for the social media platform. "He is an icon, obviously one of the greatest people to have ever played the game of cricket and one of the greatest Indian sporting legends of all time. But, l am sorry he can not be the brand ambassador for Reddit for one very simple scientific reason," Joshi said in the viral Instagram video. "It's straightforward. Sachin Tendulkar played 664 international matches over his 24-year career. I'm not even counting his first-class matches," he added, noting that Sachin spent almost 200 days a year outdoors, "touching grass". According to the comedian, Redditors are known for staying indoors. So, someone as active as Sachin Tendulkar is the complete opposite. "Sorry. No one who has gone outside and touched that much grass is allowed to endorse Reddit. It is just antithetical to its values," Rohan Joshi concluded. "I really think u should be the brand ambassador of reddit, only influencer who deserves this," commented another. "Hahahahah this is absolutely true , i vote for tanmay for brand ambassador of reddit," quipped a third user. "This position is only fit for Mr. Rohan Joshi, voting for you immediately," one user wrote. "he's making a scientific and sensible point guys," said another. Talking about joining hands with Reddit, the legendary cricketer said, "For me, cricket has always been about that pure connection with people, on and off the field. In getting to know Reddit, what stands out is the sheer passion that brings its communities together. I'm especially looking forward to discovering conversations on r/IndiaCricket and r/IndianSports." "It's a unique platform where people truly share what they love. This association gives me an opportunity to connect with fans in new ways and celebrate our shared love for sports," he added.

‘Scientific reason' why Sachin Tendulkar should not be Reddit's brand ambassador: Rohan Joshi's video goes viral

Reddit has announced Sachin Tendulkar as its brand ambassador. The Indian cricket legend will use his official profile to share match thoughts, personal stories and special content. However, as per comedian Rohan Joshi, it's a bad idea. His hilarious explanation of why Sachin Tendulkar is the wrong choice as Reddit's brand ambassador has now gone viral. In an Instagram Reel that has not gained over 1.2 million views, Joshi says Sachin is a legend and deserves all the love, but he's the wrong pick for Reddit. 'He is an icon, obviously one of the greatest people to have ever played the game of cricket and one of the greatest Indian sporting legends of all time. But, l am sorry he can not be the brand ambassador for Reddit for one very simple scientific reason,' Rohan Joshi says in the viral Instagram Reel. Sachin played 664 international matches over 24 years, which means he spent around 200 days a year outdoors 'touching grass'. According to Rohan Joshi, Reddit users are known for staying indoors. So, someone as active as Sachin is the complete opposite. 'No one who has gone outside and touched that much grass is allowed to endorse Reddit, just antithetical to its values,' Rohan Joshi concluded with, 'Love you, Sachin.' Rohal Joshi's video attracted funny reactions. Fellow comedian Tanmay Bhat wrote, 'BRB, filing FIR on you.' 'I Completely agree with you hence I think the best candidate for this position who meets all the requirements is Rohan Joshi, my vote is with him,' quipped one user. Another user wrote, 'You really miss Mumbai Police, don't you?' 'Great move Rohan, AIB members talking about Sachin always ends well,' wrote another while hinting at Tanmay Bhat's controversy. In May 2016, the Mumbai Police was asked to investigate Bhat after BJP leader Ashish Shelar accused Bhat of insulting Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar in a Facebook video. In the clip, Bhat – the face of now-dissolved comedy group AIB – used face-swap effects to act like both stars and joked about Virat Kohli being better than Tendulkar. His portrayal of Tendulkar also made fun of Lata's age, calling her '5,000 years old'.

'I think it's a cool character': Steven Ogg finally puts Trevor rumors to rest

Source: Rockstar Games During a Q&A at Comic Con Brussels on May 11, 2025, GTA V actor Steven Ogg spoke to the long-standing fan perception that he does not like being identified with Trevor Phillips, the wild, deranged character he memorably played. Again, Ogg reiterated that he does not have any issue with Trevor or Grand Theft Auto V and that the rumors of his alleged disdain for the role are completely unwarranted. Steven Ogg embraces Trevor and shuts down fan assumptions GTA 5: Steven Ogg, Shawn Fonteno & Ned Luke Q&A Session | Comic Con Brussels | 11-05-2025 Standing with co-stars Shawn Fonteno (Franklin) and Ned Luke (Michael), Ogg was questioned whether it's really that he doesn't want to be known as Trevor Phillips. In no time at all, Ogg answered, "It does not bother me whatsoever. I mean, I think it's a cool character." Joking on, he said, "The older I am getting, the more I am looking like him," to some laughter in the audience. Ogg clarified that fans tend to take what he says out of context or misread his deadpan sense of humor as a reason for these ongoing rumors. He stressed that if he actually didn't like the character or had problems with Rockstar Games, he wouldn't still be showing up at something like Comic Con alongside his co-actors. Not the first time he has had to deal with the rumor This was not something new for Ogg. He has had to clarify this misperception several times before, but it still haunts him. Nevertheless, he is still friendly and open when the subject is brought up. Ogg has time and again singled out Trevor as a great, interesting, and well-written character. His voice and motion capture performance brought Trevor to life in a manner that made the character unforgettable to his fans, something Ogg is particularly proud of. He is not only the actor who portrayed Trevor; he is Trevor to millions of players across the globe, and he's never shied away from that heritage. Steven Ogg's comments at Comic Con Brussels should bring an end to the rumors once and for all: he doesn't despise Trevor, and he's not sick of being associated with GTA V. To the contrary, he likes the character and the fan base that comes with it. Perhaps now, the fans can refrain from asking and instead enjoy his legendary performance for what it is.
