A virtual court hearing in Detroit turned chaotic when a mother was caught making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich during a Zoom session with a judge — and then argued with him on the call.

Outerbridge was facing a misdemeanour allegation for having an open alcohol container as a passenger in a vehicle.
When the judge ordered her to stop making the sandwich, Asja Outerbridge responded that she was just trying to feed her sick daughter, who she showed on camera.
'Put whatever you're trying to prepare down,' Judge Perkins insisted.
Judge Sean Perkins questioned Outerbridge's attire, asking, "Is that a robe?" and instructed her to "get dressed properly," emphasizing the seriousness of the court setting.
Outerbridge defended her attire, claiming she was 'properly dressed' and wore a t-shirt under the robe.
The judge countered, 'I'm sorry your daughter is sick, but again, you are in court, and we're going to treat it as such.'

Due to the interruptions and her behaviour, Judge Perkins ended the call.
Later, Outerbridge told CBS News that while she acknowledged her mistake, there was an explanation for her unusual behaviour. She explained she had multiple court dates and was initially told her hearing started at 1 pm but joined the Zoom at 9:22 am and waited until 11:30 am. She said the robe and sandwich incident occurred after she was placed on hold for two hours, during which she forgot the hearing had resumed.
When she realized the session restarted, she rushed back to the phone while making the sandwich.
'I definitely was wrong. I could have come dressed better and more prepared. I don't want the judge to think I'm laughing at the situation—I'm not,' she said, offering a sincere apology.
Outerbridge, a personal stylist and single mother, said managing court dates and caring for her sick three year old daughter made the day particularly challenging.
After the clip of the incident was posted online, Outerbridge admitted she was embarrassed. 'It was just a lot going on. I was having a mommy day,' she said. 'I saw the video with the judge, the robe, and the peanut butter and said, 'Oh my God.''
Asja Outerbridge expressed embarrassment and reiterated her apology, acknowledging she could have handled the situation more appropriately.

Mumbai: The state on Friday informed Bombay high court that Kherwadi police station, Bandra East, registered an FIR against the president of a sports body on a complaint of sexual harassment by a woman athlete. The FIR followed Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Neela Gokhale's direction on Wednesday to the police-in-charge to record her statement and "take appropriate action in accordance with the law, including registration of FIR, against Mr... and others found involved, if a cognisable offence is made out against them". The state's advocate, Vishal Thadani, informed that an FIR was registered on Thursday. The HC was hearing a petition by Mixed Martial Arts India to direct the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to grant it recognition. Since the IOA granted recognition to the Mixed Martial Arts Sports Federation of India, the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Association recognised only it. In these circumstances, the petitioner's athletes are unable to participate in the first Asian Youth Championship in Bahrain between June 25 and 28. Child rights body sends notice to Malviya for ‘divulging' minor victim's identity
Kolkata: The West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights (WBCPCR) has sent a show-cause notice to BJP neta Amit Malviya on Friday for divulging the identity of a deceased Baruipur minor. Malviya was asked to reply within three days as to why he should not face prosecution under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015. Earlier, police said they had started a criminal case against those who had divulged the victim's identity. On Friday, WBCPCR chairperson Tulika Das wrote to Malviya that though he had posted a blurred photograph of the victim, she was "easily identifiable". Das wrote, "The identity of a deceased minor girl was disclosed, thereby violating Section 74 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of the Children) Act, 2015." On June 19, Malviya had posted on X: "In another shocking incident in Bengal, a young girl in Canning, South 24 Parganas, was brutally murdered and gang-raped on the night of 16 June, as per local reports. Such barbarity shakes the conscience." He also alleged that the administration was suppressing the incident, citing 'communal sensitivity'. He added, "We will not let this be buried.
