Nebraska lands commitment from offensive tackle Rex Waterman
Nebraska football landed a commitment on Tuesday from class of 2026 three-star offensive tackle Rex Waterman. He made the announcement on social media Tuesday afternoon.
He is the 103rd overall offensive tackle in the 2026 class and the 21st overall player in his class from the state of Arizona, according to the On3 industry rankings.
Waterman has made three visits to Lincoln in the past year. He took his first unofficial visit to the program on February 1, and then followed that up with a visit on April 5. He took an official visit this past weekend, in what was a busy weekend for the program.
The Arizona native measures in at six feet five, 295 pounds. This is a solid addition for the Huskers' 2026 class that should see some movement over the next couple of weeks. The class itself ranks 60th overall in the country with five commitments, per On3 Rankings.
Waterman is a prospect who could fly under the radar and become a dependable piece of the offensive line in the future.

Texas A&M Quarterback Recruit Helaman Casuga Makes Waves at Elite 11 Finals and Sets Himself Apart With Five Touchdowns
Texas A&M Quarterback Recruit Helaman Casuga Makes Waves at Elite 11 Finals and Sets Himself Apart With Five Touchdowns originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Texas A&M Aggies have the No. 2 class of 2026 recruitment class with 18 players, including recent commitment and five-star Brandon Arrington, 11 four-stars, and six three-stars. Advertisement On Wednesday, day two of the 2025 Elite 11 Finals, quarterbacks went through workouts similar to those at the NFL Combine and an accuracy challenge. The following day, each signal-caller goes through a live 7-on-7 with skill players. Of head coach Mike Elko's four-stars, one quarterback shined through at the Elite 11. Texas A&M Aggies head coach Mike Elko reacting Lysaker/Imagn Images A top 200 recruit from the class of 2026, Helaman Casuga, had an MVP-level performance at the Elite 11 Finals. He was recognized with this honor after an impressive five-touchdown afternoon. Charles Power of On3 wrote in response to Casuga's performance: "Four-star [Casuga] was aggressive in going downfield. Showed quality touch and timing with his receivers. Had a few misfires, but overall a solid session headlined by his five scores." Among the other quarterbacks at the event, like five-stars Keisean Henderson and Dia Bell, a standout performance from the Texas A&M commit improves Elko's opportunities to land top wide receivers. Advertisement As Steve Wiltfong posted on X, receivers like Ethan "Boobie" Feaster and Jase Mathews will be important for Elko to draw in with the help of his four-star's Elite 11 showing. Both Feaster and Mathews have yet to declare their commitments, but have the Aggies in their top schools. Feaster will decide between Alabama, USC, and Texas A&M on July 4. Currently in the running for Mathews are LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Colorado, and Texas A&M. While Casuga is still with the Aggies, his commitment is still up in the air to be flipped. Keeping the rising senior committed should be a top priority for Elko and his staff, especially considering his representation at the Elite 11 Finals. If Casuga were to decommit and go elsewhere for his NCAA career, the No. 2 recruitment leader may have struggles moving forward. Tight end target Luke Sorensen commits to Nebraska football over Ole Miss
A three-star tight end recruit has announced his commitment to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Luke Sorensen chose the Huskers over finalists Ole Miss and Penn State. Sorensen plays tight end for Servite High School out of Anaheim, California. It should be no surprise that the tight end chose Nebraska. The recruit recently told On3 that Nebraska's offensive scheme is attractive to him. 'Nebraska is another school I like a lot. I think Dylan Raiola is a great quarterback and I like the offense they run too. I see a great opportunity to play there too. In their tight end room, I feel I could make an impact. It is Big Ten football, so they are looking for bigger tight ends like me.' In 11 games last season, Sorensen had 15 receptions for 183 yards and two touchdowns. The tight end is the sixth recruit for the Nebraska class of 2026. The Huskers have made the tight end position a priority on the recruiting trail and in their offensive scheme. With talent like Heinrich Haarberg, Luke Lindenmeyer, and Carter Nelson already on the roster, it should be no surprise that Nebraska would want to add to that depth via recruiting. Auburn's Ike Irish earns first-team All-America honors from Baseball America
Ike Irish earns another All-American nod, this time from Baseball America Ike Irish had a season to remember in 2025, and it is being honored with another All-American nod. Baseball America included Irish on its first team All-American squad, which is his third of the season. He was previously honored by Perfect Game and the American Baseball Coaches Association for his amazing season that saw him lead the team in seven statistical categories. Irish is also a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy, which is awarded to the best player in college baseball, as well as the Golden Spikes Award, which goes to the best amateur player in the United States. Irish experienced the best season of his career during the 2025 season. He led the team in seven categories including average (.364), on-base percentage (.469), slugging percentage (.710), runs (65), hits (78), home runs (19) and total bases (152). He recorded one fewer RBI than Cooper McMurray (58) for the team lead, and he finished third in stolen bases behind Bristol Carter (14) and Cade Belyeu (12). In addition to his team-leading stats, he set career-highs in several areas such as runs, total bases, home runs, walks, hit by pitch, stolen bases, batting average, and slugging percentage. The status of Irish's return is questionable. Irish, a junior, is receiving first-round projections from major mock drafts including those from The Athletic and USA TODAY. If he were to elect to depart, he will leave Auburn with 39 home runs, 48 doubles, 19 stolen bases, and a batting average of .350.
