Former Vermont basketball player is returning to the Catamounts
Jackson Skipper is returning to Vermont basketball.
The former Catamount — who left Burlington to play at Oral Roberts this past winter — is transferring back to Vermont, The Athletic's Tobias Bass reported on X, the site formerly known as Twitter, on Monday afternoon. Skipper also announced his commitment to Vermont on social media.

The 6-foot-6, 190-pound Skipper spent his first two collegiate seasons at Vermont, redshirting the 2022-23 year and playing a reserve role in 2023-24, averaging 7.1 minutes per contest in 11 appearances, as Vermont completed an America East championship three-peat.
Skipper started 11 of 26 games for Oral Roberts, Skipper's hometown school located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He put up averages of 4.9 points and 2.3 rebounds per game while shooting 36.1% on his 3-point attempts. He reached double figures four times, including a career-high 20 points in a 92-54 victory over Texas A&M-Texarkana in December.
Oral Roberts went 7-23 this past season, losing in the play-in game of the Summit League tournament.

Vermont previously picked up forwards Gus Yalden, Ben Michels and Trey Woodyard via the transfer portal this offseason. Head coach John Becker and his Vermont staff still need to fill three more scholarship spots for the 2025-26 campaign.

Now that we know Auburn is one of the top schools to land Mpouma, what are the odds that they close the deal? On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine currently gives Nebraska a slight edge over Auburn, 33% to 24%. He has zero crystal ball predictions from 247Sports, but those predictions could start filing in this week ahead of his commitment date. Mpouma is a 6-8, 260-pound offensive tackle from Chicago, Illinois. He is considered a four-star prospect by every major recruiting outlet and ranks as high as No. 12 among offensive linemen rankings in 2026. Auburn's recruiting class ranks No. 57 in 247Sports' 2026 recruiting rankings, so a commitment fro Mpouma would do wonders for a class that is currently struggling in the rankings. Auburn's Ike Irish earns first-team All-America honors from Baseball America
Ike Irish earns another All-American nod, this time from Baseball America Ike Irish had a season to remember in 2025, and it is being honored with another All-American nod. Baseball America included Irish on its first team All-American squad, which is his third of the season. He was previously honored by Perfect Game and the American Baseball Coaches Association for his amazing season that saw him lead the team in seven statistical categories. Irish is also a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy, which is awarded to the best player in college baseball, as well as the Golden Spikes Award, which goes to the best amateur player in the United States. Irish experienced the best season of his career during the 2025 season. He led the team in seven categories including average (.364), on-base percentage (.469), slugging percentage (.710), runs (65), hits (78), home runs (19) and total bases (152). He recorded one fewer RBI than Cooper McMurray (58) for the team lead, and he finished third in stolen bases behind Bristol Carter (14) and Cade Belyeu (12). In addition to his team-leading stats, he set career-highs in several areas such as runs, total bases, home runs, walks, hit by pitch, stolen bases, batting average, and slugging percentage. The status of Irish's return is questionable. Irish, a junior, is receiving first-round projections from major mock drafts including those from The Athletic and USA TODAY. If he were to elect to depart, he will leave Auburn with 39 home runs, 48 doubles, 19 stolen bases, and a batting average of .350. WATCH: Ohio State football players claim 'June Olympics' title with half-court shot
𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐎𝐥𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐬 Finale, Half court shots 🏀The Players take down the staff to win the 2025 June Olympics in stylish fashion to end it 🏆 If you've been paying attention to the summer offseason workouts for the Ohio State football team, or reading our stuff here, then you know the team has been going through a little friendly competition called the "June Olympics." It's a competition between the players and staff to see who can bring home the most wins in various competitions with a champion being crowned at the end. We weren't too sure when the end of the "feats of athletic endeavors" between the old guys and the young pups were going to be over, or even what events would be a part of all the hoopla, but we were informed today that the last competition took place by way of half-court shots. Going into the last event, things were all knotted up at 5 to 5, just like you'd want it, so the winner of the long bombs from half-court would get the bragging rights. And, unfortunately for those of us who are competing with Father Time ourselves, the younger players won the half-court shooting competition and took the title of the "June Olympics" with a final 6 to 5 score. You can check out the highlights below. By the looks of it, it took just one shot to win it after several airballs and misfires. Watch as the shot goes through the bottom of the net for the players to claim supremacy. As if the youth in the building didn't have enough talking to do, now the elder statesmen in the program will have to live with the loss until next summer when we see if the "June Olympics" make another appearance.
