Notre Dame's dual-sport star Brandon Logan set for MLB Draft Combine
Notre Dame football offered 2027 Kentucky wide receiver Tyler Fryman a scholarship Monday evening despite him being currently committed to Louisville baseball.
Another two-sport star is in the news as 2025 Fighting Irish baseball and football signee Brandon Logan is participating in the MLB Draft Combine this week in Phoenix. Last recruiting cycle, ND was able to flip Logan from a Vanderbilt baseball commitment.
The 6-foot, 185-pound R Nelson Snider (Fort Wayne, IN) outfielder will have the chance to impress big league scouts, as 322 draft-eligible prospects—both high school and college players—will be in town leading up to the MLB Draft July 13.
The Combine, which is in its third year, takes place from June 17-21 at Chase Field.
Logan, who plays safety when on the gridiron, hit .389 with 7 home runs and 31 RBI this past spring as a senior. He was also among the state's leaders with 44 stolen bases.
Fighting Irish right-handed pitcher Rory Fox (4-4, 3.58 ERA in 2025) is also in Arizona to do interviews, but he won't be throwing for scouts. In 65.1 innings, he struck out 64 batters and limited opponents to a .187 average.

Devin Fitzgerald, son of NFL legend Larry Fitzgerald, visits Notre Dame

Notre Dame is coming off arguably its biggest recruiting weekend of the offseason, and Devin Fitzgerald was not disappointed. The Class of 2026 receiver from Brophy College Prep (Phoenix, AZ), who is the son of NFL legend Larry Fitzgerald, returned to South Bend for an official visit and was able to congregate with other recruits, current players and coaches. Advertisement Fighting Irish head coach Marcus Freeman hosted all of the official visitors at his house for food and games Friday night, which was one of the highlights of the visit. The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder, who is a three-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, will take an official visit to North Carolina next weekend and then make his commitment July 5. Could ND land yet another legacy recruit? Last season, Fitzgerald hauled in 52 passes for 720 yards with nine touchdowns. Following a Notre Dame official visit, Devin Fitzgerald won't make his trip to UNC

It was a very good recruiting weekend for Notre Dame football, one that saw 2026 Arizona wide receiver Devin Fitzgerald having great time during his visit, which also saw a projection for him to land in South Bend. On Tuesday another development in his recruitment happened, as Rivals Adam Gorney posted on social media that the 6-foot, 2-inch and 195-pound prospect has canceled his upcoming visit to North Carolina. Advertisement This has to bode well for Notre Dame, as this was Fitzgerald's final official visit before making his decision on July 5th. The nation's No. 484 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite has previously visited Stanford, Clemson and UCLA, has now completed all of his officials. It very much looks like the Irish hit a home run on his trip, and Notre Dame could very well be adding Fitzgerald to its 2026 recruiting class early next month. Notre Dame continues its search for a 2026 left tackle as they offer Charlie Thom

While Notre Dame football has four current offensive line commitments in its 2026 class, there is not true left tackle in the bunch. The Irish are trying to convince Grayson McKeogh to join, with is coming off his official visit form this past weekend. Notre Dame is battling Texas and Penn State for his commitment, but that doesn't mean that they're putting all their eggs into the McKeogh basket. Advertisement On Tuesday the Irish offered another left tackle prospect, Connecticut's Charlie Thom. The 6-foot, 6-inch and 275-pounder isn't ranked at the moment by the 247Sports Composite, but has a very good offer list which includes the Nittany Lions, Michigan State, Nebraska, and others. Thom has taken official visits to see PSU and Boston College, but has yet to lock in a commitment date. If Notre Dame is able to get him on campus for an official visit, they could very well be jumping to the top of his list. This is a recruitment to watch, as the Irish aren't going to be left looking for another tackle prospect if they miss out on McKeogh.
