Returning OFW from Thailand nabbed at NAIA over falsification case
A returning overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from Thailand was arrested at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on Thursday afternoon due to an outstanding arrest warrant.
In a statement Friday, the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP-AVSEGROUP) said the woman was flagged upon arrival from Bangkok and found to have a bailable warrant issued in 2021 by the Parañaque City Regional Trial Court.
She faces charges of falsification of public documents, with bail set at ₱36,000.
'The accused is now in the custody of the Intel and Warrant Section, Police Station 11 of the Manila Police District for documentation and appropriate legal action,' the PNP-AVSEGROUP added.

Baby born on flight from Philippines to Korea dies before landing
A baby boy born mid-flight on a plane from the Philippines to South Korea passed away before the aircraft landed, according to the Incheon International Airport Police Corps. The baby was delivered on a Jeju Air flight that left Clark International Airport and was scheduled to land at Incheon Airport around 6:21 a.m. on Sunday. At approximately 6:44 a.m., emergency services received a report that the newborn was not breathing. Emergency responders arrived at the airport, but by then, the baby's heart had stopped. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The mother, a Filipino woman in her 30s, was traveling with her husband, mother-in-law, and daughter at the time of the incident. Authorities at Incheon Airport said they are investigating how the birth happened during the flight and the cause of the infant's death. Under international law, incidents occurring on a plane are handled by the country where the aircraft is registered. Since the Jeju Air flight is Korean-registered, South Korean authorities have jurisdiction over the case.

10 OFWs in Slovenia receive aid after reporting alleged human trafficking
Ten Filipino workers in Slovenia have received financial assistance from the Philippine Embassy in Vienna and its attached Migrant Workers Office (MWO) after being identified as victims of alleged human trafficking. The workers were initially recruited in 2023 to work in hotels and restaurants but were deployed to a different employer under harsh and inhumane conditions, the Embassy said in a news release. In June 2024, they submitted formal complaints to the MWO in Milan with the help of embassy officials. After fleeing their workplaces, they were granted temporary residence in Slovenia. They have since secured new full-time jobs while Slovenian authorities continue to investigate their former employer for possible human trafficking violations. The assistance was made possible through the AKSYON Fund of the Department of Migrant Workers, with MWO Vienna facilitating the aid. The Philippine Embassy encouraged other Filipino workers experiencing contract violations to report their cases to MWO Vienna for proper assistance.
