4-year-old girl killed on sidewalk in Hudson Valley DUI crash: cops
A 4-year-old girl was killed in a suspected DUI car crash on Saturday night in the Hudson Valley, authorities said.
Golda Eisenbach was walking on a sidewalk in Spring Valley along with a 31-year-old man and two other children when all four were struck by an out of control vehicle, News 12 Westchester reported. Golda was the daughter of Spring Valley Trustee Yisroel Eisenbach.
'My heart breaks for Trustee Eisenbach and his wife on the tragic loss of their 4-year-old daughter, Goldy, who was killed by a drunk driver,' state senator Bill Weber wrote on social media. 'Drunk driving is a plague on our society and must be confronted — but today, we mourn.'
Axel Lopez-Santiago, 41, was identified by police as the driver, according to WCBS. Lopez-Santiago was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated.
Lopez-Santiago was arraigned Sunday and remained behind bars, unable to post $750,000 cash bail, WCBS reported. He also had a prior DWI conviction.
The victims were walking next to Old Nyack Turnpike after exiting a nearby park and were struck near Zachary Court, according to authorities. The other two children were identified only as a 5-year-old boy and a 2-year-old boy.

Morales-Garcia, 40, was previously collared in 2009 in Arlington, Virginia, and convicted of misdemeanor petit larceny and sentenced to 12 months in prison, according to DHS. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents then nabbed Morales-Garcia in 2010 and he was deported shortly thereafter. Sarcone was uninjured and Morales-Garcia was picked up by Albany County sheriff's deputies just moments after the frightening alleged attack, according to local cops. Morales-Garcia was charged with attempted second-degree murder and is being held without bail, the Albany Times Union reported. Meanwhile, Homeland Security Investigations is also seeking to charge Morales-Garcia with illegal re-entry into the US, which could accelerate his second deportation. ICE has also lodged a detainer to take him into federal custody, DHS said. Morales-Garcia 'should have never been in our country in the first place—and now, he will face attempted murder in the second-degree charges and removal,' McLaughlin said in the Friday statement. 'Make no mistake: Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, ICE is focused on removing the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from Americans' communities,' she added. The alleged attempted slasher was also previously convicted of a felony in El Salvador, WNYT reported, citing investigators. Attorney General Pam Bondi appointed Sarcone to the Northern District of New York in March. The Pace University graduate is a native New Yorker with a 'humble, blue-collar background,' who was raised in Croton-on-Hudson, Sarcone said in a statement after his appointment.

Former NFL running back Adrian Peterson appeared to get involved in a physical altercation with a man during a recent poker game. TMZ Sports obtained video of the incident at a May poker event in Houston. At one point, Peterson and another poker player reportedly had a disagreement over playing cards. The situation appeared to escalate quickly with video showing Peterson taking multiple punches near his face. The video lasted for roughly 37 seconds but did not appear to show the fight in its entirety. The former Minnesota Vikings star and the unidentified man both sustained injuries to the face, according to TMZ. Peterson later said he sustained his injury when he fell into a chair. Peterson did acknowledge he had consumed alcohol leading up to the altercation, although he clarified that alcohol was not responsible for the fight. The 40-year-old Texas native compared the incident to "a brother situation." "Me and the guy, we're cool. We've known each other. It was literally like a brother situation," Peterson said. New Jersey officials have located two of the four detainees who escaped from an immigrant detention facility last week, the Department of Homeland Security confirmed Monday, June 16. DHS said four "dangerous criminal illegal aliens" broke out of Delaney Hall in Newark on June 12, including Joel Enrique Sandoval-Lopez from Honduras and Joan Sebastian Castaneda-Lozada from Colombia. A search for all four ensued, with officials announcing a $10,000 reward for information leading to their arrest. DHS has confirmed that both Sandoval-Lopez and Castaneda-Lozada were located separately on June 13. Sandoval-Lopez was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), FBI officials and local police in Passaic, New Jersey, according to DHS. Officials said he resisted arrest by kicking and threatening to kill authorities. Meanwhile, Castaneda-Lozada attempted to turn himself in at the New Jersey State Police Bridgeton Station, where officials refused to take him into custody because their sanctuary policies prohibited them from working with ICE. DHS said he later surrendered himself to FBI and ICE agents in Milleville, New Jersey. Sandoval-Lopez's criminal record includes unlawful possession of a handgun and aggravated assault, while Castaneda-Lozada's includes burglary, theft and conspiracy to commit burglary, according to DHS. Officials search for remaining 2 escapees DHS continues to search for the remaining two escapees: Franklin Norberto Bautista-Reyes from Honduras and Andres Pineda-Mogollon from Colombia. Bautista-Reyes entered the U.S. illegally in 2021 and was arrested on May 3, 2025 in Wayne Township, New Jersey on aggravated assault, terroristic threats, attempt to cause bodily injury and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, DHS said. Pineda-Mogollon entered the U.S. in 2023 after on a tourist visa that DHS says he overstayed. Police in New York City arrested him on April 25 for petit larceny and New Jersey police arrested him on May 21 for residential burglary, conspiracy residential burglary and possession of burglary tools, the department said. DHS continues to offer $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the two men. Many complaints made about conditions at facility Before the escape June 12, Delaney Hall had been subject to many complaints regarding alleged unsuitable facility conditions including insufficient food since it opened in May, multiple immigration rights groups have said. Agents reportedly deployed tear gas and pepper spray after a riot occurred within the facility the day of the breakout. Information gathered from people inside Delaney Hall indicates that 50 inmates in the federal detention facility joined efforts to push down the wall of a unit after meals were delivered late. On the same night, there were unconfirmed reports that several people had escaped from the facility.
