Jude Bellingham tipped to transform Real Madrid fortunes in new role after being ‘not happy' under Ancelotti
JUDE BELLINGHAM has been tipped to make a quick return to his best form - providing new boss Xabi Alonso plays him in his best position.
The Real Madrid star endured a mixed season at the Bernabeu as Los Blancos missed out on the LaLiga title.

He struggled to replicate the stunning impact of his first campaign in Spain, which led to criticism from sections of the Madrid media.
And former Real winger Victor Sanchez del Amo believes the England midfielder was frustrated on the field for much of the campaign, during which Real failed to win any silverware for the first time in four years.
Bellingham, 21, will hope to get back to his best at the Club World Cup, with his first game against Saudi side Al-Hilal in Miami tomorrow.
Sanchez del Amo, 49, told SunSport: 'I really saw a change in Bellingham in his second season.
'In the first season he was outstanding, playing in his natural position as a midfielder with a free role to move through the central corridor.
'But last season, he played many times as a left midfielder.
'He had a different tactical role and he wasn't happy there.
'Real had lost Toni Kroos and didn't replace his role in the build-up play. They struggled for balance between defence and attack.
"Bellingham realised that and tried to help the team by dropping his position, but this was also uncomfortable for him.
'You could see that his body language on the pitch was very different.
Jude Bellingham's girlfriend posts for first time since England star had bum pinched by bride-to-be
'In the first season he always showed a great fighting spirit, helping his team-mates, supporting everyone and leading on the pitch.
'But in this second season he had different behaviour. He spent a lot of time complaining, got more cards and picked fights with opponents.
'I felt he was not happy in his new role — and that showed.'
Bellingham has delayed shoulder surgery so he can play in the CWC.
Along with Al-Hilal, Real will face Mexican side Pachuca and Red Bull Salzburg in the initial group phase.
And new manager Alonso, who has replaced Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti, will be under immediate pressure to mount a serious challenge in Fifa's lucrative revamped event.

Sanchez del Amo — who manages Slovenian champions Olimpija Ljubljana but has ambitions to coach in England — feels Alonso can boost Real's attacking threat by allowing Bellingham to play to his strengths.
He added: 'Last season Real signed Kylian Mbappe but it was difficult to find balance because he and Vini Junior like to occupy the same spaces.
'They are not natural strikers, so many times Real had nobody in the box. They would get into crossing positions but the box was empty.
'Bellingham can improve that. He has a huge capacity to score goals.
'His best position is very clear — he has to be an attacking midfielder, with freedom in the central corridor to join the second line in the box.
'I don't think we'll see him playing wide any more.'

Harry Kane looking forward to facing Boca and their fearsome fans at Club World Cup
Harry Kane had an early taste of the great American outdoors ahead of next summer's World Cup as Bayern Munich's plane to Miami was delayed by Florida thunder storms ahead of Friday's game against Boca Juniors at the Hard Rock Stadium. On arrival Kane was still his familiar mild and temperate self in response to repeated questions, mainly from the Argentinian press, about the volatility of the reception he can expect from Boca's fans, who have been the most vivid spectacle of the Club World Cup so far. 'The Boca fans are obviously loud and they're passionate. A big part of their game is to have the fans behind them, to use them as the energy and to take them into tackles and to battle. 'Their fans are going to be passionate. They're going to be trying to push their team to win the game. So, yeah, I'm looking forward to the atmosphere. You know, sometimes it brings out the best in you as a player.' Kane is also prepared for the physical battle the Boca defenders will offer. Boca's tournament opener against Benfica was marked by concussive challenges, three red cards and a distinctive style of heavy-contact defending, 'It's going to be heated, it's going to be hot, it's going to be a physical game. And they have some quality players as well, so we need to be ready for that. We have to be ready for the battle tomorrow. 'They're a team who like to like to battle, like to make it difficult, like to counter press the opponent. We need to be ready for that. 'To be honest, I've not played against many South American teams in my career so far. So I think any game, any new team you play, is another experience. It's hard to really say how the game is going to go tomorrow, but like I said, I know they'll be very passionate, very hungry to get the result. Sign up to Football Daily Kick off your evenings with the Guardian's take on the world of football after newsletter promotion 'There's a lot of top quality teams all around the world. It's not just Europe where football is played and you see that at national level as well. So it doesn't surprise me that some of the teams who are maybe not looked upon as some of the favourites, are doing well in this tournament. I don't think any anyone needs to be taken lightly.'

Flamengo will stay true to their identity against Chelsea, coach Filipe Luis says
PHILADELPHIA, June 19 (Reuters) - Flamengo manager Filipe Luis vowed on Thursday that his team will remain faithful to their "fierce, relentless style" as they prepare to face Chelsea in a highly anticipated Club World Cup encounter on Friday. Flamengo, who top the Brazilian league, will look to end a 13-year winless streak for South American teams against European counterparts. The side enter the match in scintillating form after five consecutive victories in all competitions, including a convincing 2-0 win over Esperance de Tunis in their tournament opener. Ahead of the match, Filipe Luis emphasized his unwavering belief in his team's philosophy. "Never give up on your convictions. I have a conviction, a very clear idea of what I think about the game," he told reporters. "I would never, ever change my team because of an opponent. It would be completely and absolutely wrong for the players. We will play the way we have been preparing for eight months." Filipe Luis has built a Flamengo side that thrive on controlling possession and dictating the tempo of matches. He acknowledged, however, that Friday's clash with Chelsea will require "sacrifice" and highlighted the importance of an experienced defense featuring former Juventus fullbacks Danilo and Alex Sandro against the Premier League side's quality. "Experience always helps because these elite clubs have decisive players who don't lose the ball and create dangerous plays," the Flamengo coach said. "We know it will be a game of sacrifice. We won't always have the ball, and when we don't, we'll have to run and fight together as a team. The players understand this because they've been doing it ever since I was their teammate and now as their coach." Flamengo lead Group D with three points, edging Chelsea to the top spot due to the tiebreaker criterion of yellow cards. Los Angeles FC and Esperance have yet to register a point and will meet in Friday's other group fixture. Filipe Luis, who played for Chelsea during his career, expressed confidence in his team's unity and determination. "The only way to win is with all 11 players pulling in the same direction. Knowing this is the way forward, we definitely have a chance," he said. Friday's match promises a clash of styles, with Flamengo's attacking flair and possession-based approach going up against Chelsea's defensive solidity and elite individual talent.

Donnarumma issues update on PSG future as Man Utd lurk after private talks
Manchester United had been eyeing a summer move for Gianluigi Donnarumma, with the Italian keeper entering the final year of his contract at Paris Saint-Germain Gianluigi Donnarumma is confident he will sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain as he confirmed his agent remains locked in talks with the French champions. Donnarumma arrived at the Parc des Princes in 2021. He has enjoyed a highly-successful spell in the French capital since then, winning 10 major trophies. The Italian was a key member of the team which won the treble this season, storming to the Ligue 1 title, beating Reims in the Coupe de France final and smashing Inter Milan in the Champions League final. Despite his importance to Luis Enrique's side and his standing as one of the world's top keepers, the 26-year-old's contract is set to expire next summer. That has led to growing uncertainty over his future in the French capital. That uncertainty has attracted the eye of a number of suitors, including Manchester United. The Red Devils are looking for a new keeper this summer following the abject performance of Andre Onana. Onana kept just nine clean sheets in the Premier League last season, frequently drawing criticism. Donnarumma emerged as a potential replacement for the Cameroon international earlier this summer. But in a fresh blow to United boss Ruben Amorim, Donnarumma has confirmed that talks are progressing. He also insisted that he had full faith in his agent to get a deal done while he focused on the Club World Cup. "Yes, we are moving forward. My agent is talking to the club. I am focused on the match and the trophy, but we have no problems," he said ahead of PSG's clash with Botafogo. "I always give 100 percent for this club and the supporters, it's a club that has given me everything, playing for PSG is incredible. The Club World Cup is a very important competition for us. "We must continue to remain 100 per cent focused to reach the final and the trophy. Everyone is hungry for victories, to win titles; it's important for now and for next year.' The chance to sign Donnarumma would be too good to turn down for United. The Italian was player of the tournament as his country won Euro 2020, just before his move to PSG. According L'Equipe, he keeper has already had private talks with his international team-mates about a potential move to the Premier League. But earlier this month, Donnarumma made it clear he wanted to remain in Paris. "My priority is to stay at PSG, I don't think there will be any problems in the negotiations," he told Sky Sports Italia after Italy beat Moldova in a World Cup qualifier. "We're a great team."
