J'khand man arrested for raping teen girl
Kanpur: Police arrested a man near Cantt area of Central Railway Station for allegedly raping a teenage girl from Mirzapur. The accused identified as Mohd Ashfaq is a resident of Hazaribagh in Jharkhand.
Police are currently questioning the accused.
According to ACP Collector Ganj Ashutosh Kumar Singh, following a dispute with her mother on Monday, a 15-year-old girl from Mirzapur boarded a train to Prayagraj, where she encountered a man, claiming to be one Raju Tiwari, who promised to assist her in returning home. However, he took her to Kanpur in a bus and checked into a hotel near Ghantaghar, where he raped her. When she protested, he also physically assaulted her.
The girl later managed to flee and contacted both the police and her uncle through UP 112.
The girl's uncle lodged a formal complaint at Harbansh Mohal police station. During investigation, police obtained the accused's phone number. Through surveillance, they traced him near the Central Station and arrested him on Wednesday. Upon questioning, the accused revealed his identity as Mohd Ashfaq from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. ACP Collector Ganj Ashutosh Kumar said further investigation is underway. tnn

Air India faces DGCA action over crew safety violations; Suspends airline's head of crew rostering
India's civil aviation regulator has pulled up Air India for serious and repeated violations of crew safety norms, ordering the removal of three senior officials, head of crew rostering, from their positions in the airline's scheduling department. The aviation watchdog has asked the Tata Group-owned airline to initiate internal disciplinary proceedings against these officials without delay. The action comes after Air India voluntarily disclosed that flight crew were being scheduled and operated in violation of licensing, flight duty time, and rest period regulations, key requirements for flight safety. DGCA, in a letter issued on June 20, said the violations were uncovered during a post-transition audit following the airline's shift from the ARMS platform to the CAE Flight and Crew Management System. Ahmedabad crash: DGCA orders Air India to remove 3 officials; roles related to crew scheduling
NEW DELHI: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation on Saturday directed Air India to remove its three senior officials from all roles related to crew scheduling and rostering, news agency PTI reported quoting sources. As per the report, one of those named is a divisional vice president at the airline. On 12 June, Air India Flight AI-171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner bound for London, tragically crashed into a hostel at BJ Medical College in Ahmedabad's Meghani Nagar, shortly after take-off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. Of the 242 people aboard, 241 died, including former Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani, along with dozens more on the ground. In its order dated 20 June, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) directed Tata Group-owned Air India to promptly initiate internal disciplinary action against three officials. A week later, significant progress has been made in identifying victims. Ahmedabad Civil Hospital Superintendent Dr Rakesh Joshi said: 'As of 5.45 pm, 231 DNA samples of the deceased have matched with their family members.
