3 officers hospitalized after being hit by semi-truck during traffic stop in Prince William County, police say
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. () — Part of Interstate 95 was closed early Monday and multiple injuries were reported after a semi-truck hit officers during a traffic stop, according to Prince William County police.

In a post on X just before 2:30 a.m., the Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said officers were investigating a crash on I-95 south, with multiple people injured. As a result, the interstate was closed between Dumfries and Joplin Road.
PWCPD told DC News Now that at least six vehicles were involved in the crash, and responders took three officers to the hospital treatment. The three were reportedly conducting a traffic stop near the Dumfries exit when the semi truck hit their cruisers.
All three officers are expected to be OK, police noted.

Body found in Virginia identified as missing US Navy sailor, officials say
A body found in a wooded area of Virginia has been identified as a U.S. Navy sailor who's been missing for nearly two weeks, federal investigators said. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service found the body of Seaman Angelina Resendiz on June 9 in Norfolk, officials said in a June 10 news release. A Navy sailor, who was not named, was taken into pretrial confinement in connection with Resendiz's death with charges pending, according to the release. 'NCIS remains committed to uncovering the facts surrounding the tragic death of Seaman Resendiz to ensure accountability and justice,' officials said. Additional information was not made available. The investigation is ongoing, officials said. The 21-year-old sailor was last seen at 10 a.m. May 29 at her barracks in Norfolk, according to the Virginia State Police. 'The family of Seaman Angelina Resendiz is heartbroken and deeply concerned over her sudden and unexplained disappearance,' KMK Productions, a public relations firm representing the family, said in a June 9 post on Instagram. Resendiz's family asked for 'the assistance of the United States government, Senator Mark Warner, Senator Tim Kaine, the Hampton Roads congressional delegation, home congressman Vicente Gonzalez, and President Donald J. Trump to address the systemic issues that allowed her to vanish,' according to a June 10 statement shared with McClatchy News by the firm.. FBI Tells iPhone Users 1 Text Message to Delete Immediately
The FBI has issued a new warning for iPhone users regarding a text-message scam that has been bombarding users lately. According to Forbes, messaging attacks on iPhone and Android are up more than 700% this month. One malicious text that has been making the rounds involves bad actors posing as the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and demanding money for unpaid tolls or fines at the threat of possible loss of license or jail time. These DMV texts are more dangerous than the previous unpaid toll messages that have been popping up on people's phones for more than year, according to Guardio. 'These scam texts lead to phishing websites designed to steal people's credit card information and make unauthorized charges," Guardio told Forbes. Last week, WREG reported that the FBI is investigating the scheme. FBI Supervisory Special Agent David Palmer told WREG that the DMV messages are a "copycat" of the toll scam. 'It costs next to nothing for them to use these algorithms to send these messages and calls out, but in return, they can achieve getting your personal information, putting malware on your phone, which then can go in and steal information from your device, or collect your payment information,' Palmer said. Palmer added that upon receiving one of the texts, he immediately picked up upon wording clues that gave away that it was a con. 'A couple of things that I noticed immediately, on it, is the text message I received said it was from the North Tennessee Department of Motor Vehicles. So you know, obviously, there is no north or south Tennessee, a red flag immediately and also looking at the sender, the message I received was from email address @ obviously that is not a government address,' Palmer said. The FBI added that real government agencies will not contact you in this manner. The organization also advises any users to not click on links they receive in text messages from unknown sources and to delete the texts "immediately." This crop of DMV scam messages have been reported around the country, including Tennessee, Arizona, New York, Minnesota, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Ohio, Oregon, Texas, and Washington D.C.
