Telangana developers body bats for suburban master plan of Hyderabad; calls for balanced growth & equal infrastructure

Time of India14 hours ago

Telangana Developers Association (TDA) has urged the Telangana government to develop a suburban master plan for Hyderabad, ensuring balanced expansion across the city's four sides
HYDERABAD: The Telangana Developers Association (TDA) has suggested that Hyderabad should have a suburban master plan to facilitate balanced expansion on all four sides of the city.
The TDA suggestion was in light of the Telangana govt starting the exercise to prepare the master plan for Hyderabad metropolitan region 2050 a few months ago.
In a letter to chief minister A Revanth Reddy, TDA president GV Rao and secretary Srinivas Goud said that to ensure sustainable growth, the carrying capacity of future satellite cities should be meticulously calculated based on the ideal population density for each area, with infrastructure development planned accordingly to support long-term stability and scalability.
'High density will result in harsh conditions as we are experiencing in Bengaluru and Delhi. All four corners of the city should have civil infrastructure of the same level with health, education and employment-generating corridors such as IT,' Rao said.
TDA president said that as the city and suburban areas' population is growing by three lakh every year, the govt has to plan water for such a huge future population.

'The govt has to audit present supply capacity, drinking and industrial water requirements in the future by appointing expert consultancy or any university on water requirements of the city for the next 50 years,' he said.
They also said that the Regional Ring Road (RRR), Future City and Metro Rail expansion would be a game changer . RRR has great potential to increase Hyderabad's economic activity , they said.

Today brings a powerful reminder—choose progress over approval. You may feel tempted to prove yourself or seek validation from others, but the real win comes when you move with intention, not expectation. Don't let outside opinions delay your inner growth. Focus on steady steps, not applause. Your energy is best spent on meaningful actions that align with your goals. Trust your own rhythm. Keep walking forward with clarity and quiet courage. Speak clearly, and remember that love thrives on truth, not performance. If single, release the pressure to be liked instantly. Be open, but remain grounded in your values. Someone worth your time will appreciate you as you are, not as you try to appear. Progress in love begins when you start honouring your heart's voice. Opium farmers demand policy overhaul, fair pricing

Jaipur: The opium farmers' association of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh has strongly urged the Centre to rethink its opium cultivation policy for 2025-26. They have demanded fair treatment of farmers, higher prices, and an end to what they call 'exploitative practices'. In a statement released Friday, the association clarified that "opium is a medicinal crop, not a drug" and blamed corrupt officials rather than the crop itself for mismanagement. "Opium is not inferior — it is the system and some officials that failed the farmers," the association asserted. Key demands include issuing traditional cultivation licences to all farmers and families who grew opium since Independence and revising the price of raw opium to at least Rs 50,000 per kg to align with global standards. "Farmers have faced years of exploitation under the guise of regulation while their production costs skyrocketed," the association said. The group also criticised the govt-imposed Concentrated Poppy Straw (CPS) system, describing it as an attempt to "enslave farmers to private companies." They called for its discontinuation, arguing that if CPS was genuinely effective, parallel traditional farming wouldn't still exist. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo "If CPS is truly superior, make its performance data public. Stop forcing it on traditional farmers," the association has demanded. The association suggests that the govt should directly buy and fairly compensate for all by-products like doda chura, comparing it to how no one expects farmers to manage cow dung after consuming the milk. The Central Bureau of Narcotics issues licences to farmers for opium cultivation and is the sole authority responsible for its procurement. They have also urged the govt to prevent opium cultivation from falling into the hands of private companies and called for a CBI probe into the operations of the narcotics department between 2015 and 2025. The farmers stressed that adopting their suggestions would "ensure economic freedom for the country, prosperity for farmers, and affordable medicines for patients, in line with the PM's 'Make in India, Made by Farmers' vision."
