Sarah Ferguson Says the Late Queen Elizabeth Is 'Talking' to Her Through Her Corgis

Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, said Queen Elizabeth is "talking" to her through her corgis
Prince Andrew's ex-wife said the late monarch sends a sign through the corgis she inherited from her
PEOPLE previously confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of York received Queen Elizabeth's corgis Muick and Sandy upon her death in 2022Sarah Ferguson is in sync with Queen Elizabeth through the late monarch's beloved dogs.
On May 14, the Duchess of York, 65, posted a video where she made the revelation in a conversation on stage at Creative Women Platform Forum conference in London. PEOPLE confirmed that the Duchess of York and her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, inherited the Queen's last two surviving corgis upon her death in September 2022 at age 96.
"I have her dogs. I have her corgis, so every morning they come in and go, 'Woof, woof' and all that and I'm sure it's her talking to me," the Duchess said in a clip shared to Instagram, which made the audience laugh.
"The real thing is that I had the greatest honor to be her daughter-in-law. You know, that's really huge," she continued. "When I was driving here, I saw the Elizabeth [train] line… I want everyone to remember what an amazing lady she was."
The Duchess of York, who is popularly known as Fergie, was married to Queen Elizabeth's second son from 1986 to 1996, and the former couple share daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. While the Duke and Duchess of York split years ago, they remain on friendly terms and still live together at their family home, Royal Lodge, in Windsor.
The late Queen was a dog lover throughout her life with a particular affinity for corgis (she owned more than 30 corgis and "dorgi" mixes), and in 2021, the York family gave her what proved to be her last two corgis. Following her death, a source close to Prince Andrew told PEOPLE that the dogs, Muick and Sandy, would go back to live with him and Fergie.
"The corgis will return to live at Royal Lodge with the Duke and Duchess. It was the Duchess who found the puppies, which were gifted to Her Majesty by the Duke," the insider said.
Speaking to PEOPLE in 2023, Fergie spoke about how the corgis send her a sign from the late Queen.
"They are national icons, so every time they run chasing a squirrel, I panic," Fergie told PEOPLE in 2023. "But they're total joys, and I always think that when they bark at nothing, and there's no squirrels in sight, I believe it's because the Queen is passing by."
"They're with me a lot, and they think I'm very funny," she added.
The author and advocate occasionally shares updates on Muick and Sandy with her social media followers, recently shouting out her whole menagerie of pups on International Pet Day in April.
"Happy International Pet Day to my seven sweet doggies!" she captioned an Instagram dedicated to her dogs on April 11. "From their wagging tails and comforting cuddles, to the calming presence and loyal companionship they give every single day, life is simply brighter with these amazing furry friends by my side."
In addition to her royal corgis, the post hinted that the Duchess of York owns Yorkies (a fitting breed for her title!) called Roary, Ginger and Poppy.
The corgis were a comfort to Fergie in 2023 as she recovered from surgery following a breast cancer diagnosis and she wrote about how a therapeutic walk with them brought her solace.
"I took all 7 doggies yesterday to where Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth used to walk them. It was wonderful to have a moment to remember," she captioned a carousel of flower pictures that July.

The Duchess of York navigated two cancer diagnoses within a six-month span between the summer of 2023 and start of 2024. Fergie was diagnosed with breast cancer (and underwent a single mastectomy) in June 2023 and was later diagnosed with malignant melanoma (a form of skin cancer) months later in January 2024.
She has spoken openly about the "dark" time and in May 2024, her daughter Princess Beatrice said her mother was "all clear" following the health scares.

Sorbet Nails Are Literally The Coolest Manicure Trend For 2025

All linked products are independently selected by our editors. If you purchase any of these products, we may earn a commission. I won't pretend sorbet nails are a brand-new trend. Let's be real — they look a lot like the pastel manicures that pop up every year at this time. But while they're not exactly groundbreaking, there's no denying that the biggest nail artists are obsessed with them right now. From Iram Shelton's shimmering strawberry manicure to Harriet Westmoreland's mint sorbet French tips, sorbet nails provide a cool pop of colour among the wave of neutral princess nails and milky manicures. For the sceptics amongst us, there is a subtle difference between this year's sorbet nails and more traditional pastels: 'Though they're in the same family of soft tones, sorbet shades are slightly more vibrant versions of pastel colours,' explains session manicurist Ami Streets. 'Inspired by their namesake edible summer treat, they're even brighter and juicier, often with a sheer or jelly-like finish that gives a gorgeously glossy and playful vibe.' Think of fruity hues inspired by your favourite ice cream flavours, such as banana, peach, strawberry, or pistachio, if you're unsure where to start. View this post on Instagram A post shared by faye louise dennis (@fayelouisedennis) How do you wear sorbet nails? Streets points out that sorbet shades lend themselves beautifully to nail art looks. 'Soft ombré gradients in sorbet colours are a dreamy nail look... effortlessly blending shades like pinks and peaches, for example, creates a sun-kissed effect that feels light, airy, and totally on-trend,' says Streets. Additionally, for minimalists, French tips, half-moon manis, and simple, dainty dot designs are a great way to wear sorbet hues more subtly. OPI's Infinite Shine Nail Polish in Dreamsicle, $25, has the same sheer, watery feel, but with a touch of shimmer. Lemon Ice Streets pointed to pale yellow being one of the 'huge breakout sorbet hues', and this monochromatic look created by @kkdnails proves that it isn't going anywhere. Try Manucurist's Mimosa Nail Polish, $23, for a similar buttery lemon hue. Watermelon Shine View this post on Instagram A post shared by Zanë Jashari (@zanasnails) Aura nails lend themselves beautifully to sorbet hues, as nail artist Zanë Jashari proves with this delicate blush-colored design. Mint Tips View this post on Instagram A post shared by Harriet Westmoreland (@harrietwestmoreland) The simplest way to dabble in sorbet shades if you're a minimalist at heart is by switching the color of your French tips. This punchy mint look by Harriet Westmoreland is so fresh and chic. Try OPI's Infinite Shine In Mint Condition Nail Polish, $24.95 to get the look at home. Machine Gun Kelly makes rare red-carpet appearance with daughter Casie: See the photos

Machine Gun Kelly may be an award-winning musician, but fatherhood remains the top gig. The Grammy-nominated rap-rocker (real name: Colson Baker) stepped out with his eldest daughter, Casie Baker, for a rare red-carpet appearance at the 2025 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards on June 21. Kelly shares Casie, 15, with his ex Emma Cannon. He "definitely gives a lot of advice. He's more like a hype man, though," Casie told People magazine in an interview ahead of the ceremony, to which Kelly replied, "Yeah, I'm a cheerleader." The teen added that her rockstar dad encourages her to be herself. For their Kids' Choice Awards appearance, Casie was dolled up in a strapless bubblegum pink dress, while Kelly kept things sleek in an all-black romper and matching boots. Machine Gun Kelly reveals baby's name, gives shout-out to ex-fiancée Megan Fox Kelly has been busy in the fatherhood department as of late. The "My Ex's Best Friend" singer welcomed a daughter, Saga Blade Fox-Baker, in March with ex-fianceé Megan Fox. "Megan is in the no sleep club, for sure," Kelly, 35, told People. "Women are in the rougher trenches of the newborn process, but my specialty is music and laughs and whatever I can do to make her smile and kind of get introduced to the world with love." Earlier this week, Kelly revealed the baby's name in a June 17 Instagram post, which included an adorable video of the singer serenading the infant with a ukulele. Casie gushed that becoming an older sister has been "fun," adding, "It's really just so cute. I love her so much." 10 bingeable memoirs to check out: Celebrities tell all about aging, marriage and Beyoncé Saga marks Kelly and Fox's first child after calling off their January 2022 engagement. In a March 2024 interview on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, Fox declined to go into detail about their current relationship status. "I think that what I've learned from being in this relationship is that it's not for public consumption, so I think, as of now, I don't have a comment on the status of the relationship, per se," she said. "What I can say is: That is what I refer to as being my 'twin soul,' and there will always be a tether to him no matter what."

Cardi B Takes It "Outside" With Her First Single in Over a Year

Summary Cardi Bhas been sporadic with her solo releases lately, finally returning to the scene with her first single in just about 15 months. The now-streaming 'Outside' is the Washington Heights rapper's first new music since she dropped off 'Enough (Miami)' back in March of 2024 – the latter of which marked another 'return' from the rapper, marking her first solo studio release since February 2021's 'Up.' So, needless to say, whenever we get a new Cardi offering, it's a treat. After first premiering 'Outside' back in May at a Cannes afterparty, Cardi has finally dropped the high-octane track on all streaming platforms. The rapper took to her Instagram earlier last week to announce the song's official release. Landing the same day asOffset's new track 'Bodies,' Cardi doesn't hold back on 'Outside,' coming in hot from her first bar. 'Well, let's go wrong for wrong (What?), let's go lick for lick (Let's go) / If I can handle that (Uh-huh), let me see you handle this (Okay),' she fires off on the first verse. 'Do you how you do me, bet you we won't speak again / Favorite player from your favorite team, he in my DM.' Stream 'Outside' – out on all streaming platforms now.
