Known for 2009's "Crazy Heart", Scott Cooper directs "Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere". His directorial credits also include 2015's "Black Mass" and 2022's "The Pale Blue Eye".

White is joined in the cast of "Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere" by Jeremy Strong, Stephen Graham, Paul Walter Hauser, Odessa Young, Marc Maron, Johnny Cannizzaro, David Krumholtz and Chris Jaymes.
The film is based on the book of the same name by Warren Zanes, which chronicles the making of Springsteen's 1982 album, "Nebraska". The album is known as one of Springsteen's more personal outings, recorded on a four track recorder in the rocker's bedroom.
In a statement about the film, Cooper said, "Making 'Springsteen' was deeply moving as it allowed me to step inside the soul of an artist I've long admired – and to witness, up close, the vulnerability and strength behind his music. The experience felt like a journey through memory, myth, and truth."
"And more than anything, it was a privilege to translate that raw emotional honesty to the screen, and in doing so, it changed me. I cannot thank Bruce and Jon Landau enough for allowing me to tell their story."
"Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere" is the latest in a growing list of music biopics along with popular titles like "A Complete Unknown" and "Bohemian Rhapsody". Not quite two weeks ago it was announced that Nick Jonas had been cast as Paul Stanley in the upcoming KISS biopic "Shout It Out Loud".
"Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere" arrives only in theaters October 24.
