Big 12 Spotlight: Notable pipelines to high school talent factories

A major part of recruiting is coaching staffs getting their foot in the door at high school programs that annually produce multiple high-level, Power Four players. And once a coaching staff can create a pipeline at these high school football factories, it can be one of the biggest built-in recruiting advantages every year.

This week, we are taking a look at which Power Four programs have an established pipeline at certain high school football factories. Next up is the Big 12.

CHANDLER (ARIZ.) HAMILTON - ARIZONA

One of the biggest aspects in Arizona high school recruiting in at least the last decade has been Arizona and Arizona State's difficulties keeping top-flight, in-state talent home.

The state's top player this recruiting cycle, Tait Reynolds, is committed to Clemson. Last cycle, Cooper Perry went to Oregon. And on and on. But Arizona has done an excellent job locking up top players from powerhouse Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton as the Wildcats have found a ton of success there.
Five players on the roster – linebacker Taye Brown, receiver Tre Spivey, offensive lineman Grayson Stovall and defensive backs Genesis Smith and Dajon Hinton – all come from that school in the Phoenix suburbs that's less than two hours away.
Arizona is back in Chandler, Ariz. – but not at Hamilton HS – for three-star athlete Hamisi Juma in this recruiting class.

BRADENTON (FLA.) IMG ACADEMY - COLORADO

Every top program goes to Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy for its top prospects but Colorado and coach Deion Sanders have had an inordinate amount of success there, especially convincing top players to head all the way out to Boulder.
Landing five-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, who had an impressive freshman season with the Buffaloes, was the biggest win from IMG for Colorado. Flipping four-star defensive lineman London Merritt from Ohio State late last recruiting cycle was a major win as well. High three-star defensive end Alexander McPherson has the physical tools to be special.
So much of Colorado's roster management will be through the transfer portal. But hitting up IMG Academy is never a bad idea and building an even bigger pipeline there should only benefit the Buffs.

DRAPER (UTAH) CORNER CANYON - UTAH

The Utah coaching staff has done an impressive job at Kahuku, Hawaii, as well but the Utes are doing really well at powerhouse Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon, which continues to pump out elite players in nearly every recruiting class.
Utah has not gotten everybody out of there as quarterbacks Jaxson Dart and Helaman Casuga and receiver Jerome Myles got away. But the Utes have landed current quarterback Isaac Wilson, offensive lineman Isaiah Garcia and defensive end Kash Dillon out of there.
A tremendous amount of talent comes out of the state of Utah and many of them play at Corner Canyon. Keeping that pipeline open especially for an in-state school is a big deal and one that could keep paying dividends.

SANFORD (FLA.) SEMINOLE - UCF

What started with Gabe Davis of the Jacksonville Jaguars going to UCF from Sanford (Fla.) Seminole has continued as a major pipeline for the Knights with numerous players on the current roster from Bokey Football.
Defensive backs Ja'Cari Henderson, Chasen Johnson and Demari Henderson and linebacker Kam Moore are all from powerhouse Sanford Seminole, which is just 20 minutes north of UCF's campus.
If first-year coach Scott Frost is going to find massive success again at UCF, keeping local players home will be crucial and it all starts at Sanford Seminole.

Broncos buying up land at potential stadium location
The Denver Broncos have repeatedly emphasized that all options are on the table for their stadium plan, including the possibility of staying at Empower Field at Mile High. Meanwhile, as the front office explores potential options, the team has been buying up land for a potential stadium site. The team has purchased $146 million worth of properties around Burnham Yard since September, according to a report from Justin Wingerter of BusinessDen. Advertisement That site is about a move southeast of the team's current stadium, which the Broncos lease from the city. That lease runs through 2031. In a statement to BusinessDen, the team repeated its stance about considering all options. 'As we've previously shared, we are involved in a comprehensive process regarding the future of our stadium,' the team told BusinessDen. 'No determinations have been made as we continue to evaluate several options in and around the Denver metro area.' If the Broncos do build a new stadium (at Burnham Yard or elsewhere), the team's chances of hosting major events like the Super Bowl will increase dramatically. The team has repeatedly said nothing has been determined yet, but there has been heavy speculation that the club will ultimately decide to build a new stadium. Advertisement Denver's NFL franchise is owned by the Walter-Penner family, with Greg Penner the controlling owner. They purchased the club in 2022 for $4.65 billion. The Broncos are currently working on major renovations at their training facility, and the ownership group has already spent more than $100 million on upgrades to Empower Field at Mile High. The ownership group has not been afraid to splash money to upgrade the team's facilities. Perhaps a new stadium is next on the to-do list. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans. Gov. Jared Polis negotiating with Broncos about potential stadium site
The Denver Broncos have been buying up properties around Burnham Yard since September, and now they're attempting to purchase the 58-acre former rail yard from the state. The Broncos have been negotiating with the office of Colorado Gov. Jared Polis about purchasing the Burnham Yard property, according to a report from the Denver Post. That site is one of several locations the team is considering for a potential new stadium, and the club has already spent around $146 million buying adjacent properties. Advertisement The Broncos had previously mentioned Lone Tree and Aurora as potential stadium sites. Polis hopes to keep the team in Denver. 'The Governor is committed to keeping the Denver Broncos in Colorado, and hopefully in Denver,' Polis spokeswoman Shelby Wieman said in an email to the Denver Post. "Therefore, we support efforts to ensure Colorado remains the home of our Super Bowl champion team.' The Broncos' current lease at Empower Field at Mile High runs through 2031, so if the team is going to build a new stadium, securing a location would be a top priority. Denver's front office has insisted that all options -- including possibly staying at Mile High -- are still on the table, but the team is widely expected to build a new stadium. The Walton-Penner family purchased the Broncos for $4.65 billion in 2022. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans. This article originally appeared on Broncos Wire: NFL: Gov. What is Derrick White's trade value to the Boston Celtics?
What is Derrick White's trade value to the Boston Celtics after the Memphis Grizzlies trade of Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic? Whatever the offer, it had better be a huge one, given the Colorado native has a boatload of value to his current team. Meaning it would likely have to be on par or even better than the four first round picks and solid salary coming back in the Bane deal. But is there really a ball club out there that would spend that sort of draft capital on a player like White? Or is the market for such players more context dependent than the swap that landed the Griz guard in Orlando might seem to suggest to us? Advertisement The hosts of the CLNS Media "How Bout Them Celtics!" podcast, Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance, took some time on a recent episode of their show to talk it over. Check it out below!
