Actor Jaideep Ahlawat has confirmed his role in King, the upcoming action-thriller starring Shah Rukh Khan and directed by Siddharth Anand. Speaking in a recent interview, Ahlawat shared how he came on board the project, revealing that it was Khan himself who intervened to make it happen.
According to Ahlawat, director Siddharth Anand was initially hesitant to offer him the role, considering it a smaller part following Ahlawat's performance in Jewel Thief. 'SRK sir had been thinking about this for quite some time... But Khan saab being Khan saab, he said, 'I'll talk to him.' Now who could say no to him?' Ahlawat recalled.
The actor praised Shah Rukh Khan for his warmth and humility. Recounting their earlier interaction on the sets of Raees, Ahlawat said the superstar always made him feel welcome and valued. 'He's a wonderful human being... Every time I've met him, he's made me feel important,' he added.
King, currently in production, marks another collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand after the success of Pathaan. The film also stars Suhana Khan and Saurabh Shukla. While the full cast is yet to be officially announced, reports suggest names like Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Raghav Juyal, and Anil Kapoor will be involved.
Ahlawat was last seen in Jewel Thief, where his performance as the antagonist drew critical acclaim, particularly for his acting range and unexpected dance sequences.
The release date for King has not yet been announced.

EXCLUSIVE: Abhishek Bachchan teams up with Sandeep Reddy Vanga's assistant Shanmukha on an action film

Over the years, Sandeep Reddy Vanga has delivered blockbusters like Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh and Animal. The maverick filmmaker is presently working on the pre-production of Spirit starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri in lead. While the prep work is going on, Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that Sandeep Reddy Vanga's associate director, Shanmukha Gowtham Ghantasala is all set to make his directorial debut. According to sources close to the development, Shanmukha Gowtham's directorial debut will feature Abhishek Bachchan in lead role. 'Abhishek Bachchan is teaming up with Shanmukha Gowtham on an action-packed thriller. The actor will be seen playing the role of a butcher in the film, and is excited to embark on a film that breaks the norm of usual filmmaking in the commercial format,' revealed a source. Shanmukha Gowtham has worked with Sandeep Reddy Vang a as an Associate Director on Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh and Animal. The source further informed that the film will be produced by Peoples Media Factory, who recently ventured in the Hindi Film Industry with Jaat. 'The makers are gearing up to take the film on floors towards the end of 2025, and the casting for other key characters are currently underway,' the source added. Interestingly, the post credit scene of Animal featured Ranbir Kapoor as Aziz in the avatar of a butcher, and the look for Abhishek is expected to be on the similar lines. Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan is presently shooting for King with Shah Rukh Khan in the lead. The actor plays the negative lead in this Siddharth Anand directed action thriller. Abhishek is in talks for a couple of other films, including a feature film with Dinesh Vijan, and the details have been kept under wraps for now. The source concluded saying that the yet untitled actioner will see Abhishek in a very different look, which is being designed at the moment. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.

Priya Gill Recalls Slapping Shah Rukh On The Sets Of Josh: ‘There Was Complete Silence'

Last Updated: Priya Gill recalls slapping Shah Rukh Khan in Josh, calling it the "most embarrassing" moment of her career. Actress Priya Gill recently revisited her time working with Shah Rukh Khan in the film Josh, and she didn't hold back when talking about what she calls the most uncomfortable moment of her career. The scene in question? A slap she delivered to SRK during a song sequence in the movie. In an old interview with Lehren that's gone viral again, Gill shared, 'I'll tell you, the most embarrassing thing I did in my entire film career was when I slapped Shah Rukh." She recalled how the scene took several takes because the director wasn't convinced about the intensity of her emotions. 'I had to slap him, in the song, at the beginning of the song. We were doing this repeated, repeated thing in Goa. And Mansoor kept telling me, 'Priya, it's not coming with the kind of force that the girl is mad at him.' And I was like, 'Yeah, okay,' and I kept trying, you know. And Shah Rukh said, 'You hit me… hit me.' And Mansoor said, 'Hit him, hit him,' you know? I had to punch him. I couldn't help it. Oh my gosh, I'll never forget that." The impact of that one slap caused a moment of stunned silence on the set. 'I think there was complete silence. Everybody just… the camera kept rolling. I think the director forgot to say cut because of the reaction. I remember KV the cameraman telling me, 'Girls are going to hate you because you hit Shah Rukh.' I think he was really sweet about it because after, he was explaining to me how it should be done right, and I didn't know what to say. After that, the song starts. So imagine how much tension I felt, and how cool he was about the whole thing." Despite the nerves, Gill said working with Shah Rukh was like a dream come true. She's been a fan of his since his TV days. 'I don't know whether you know, but I'm like a… I won't just say I'm a die-hard fan, because fans are only related to the acting side. I've always liked Shah Rukh. When I was studying, I used to watch him on television. He used to come in the serials, and then he became a huge star. But you know, you never think that one day you're going to be with this guy. And I was totally in awe of him." She added that she was nervous about how he'd react if anything went wrong. 'And I was like, suppose I do something wrong, and he's such a huge star, what's he going to do? What's he going to say? And you have all these doubts coming in. But he was so sweet to us." Josh is a 2000 Bollywood film set in Goa, showing the story of two rival gangs. Shah Rukh Khan plays Max, a tough gang leader, while Aishwarya Rai plays his sister Shirley. First Published:

Ridhi Dogra says she needs another film with Shah Rukh Khan as a redemption for Jawan: ‘They just didn't want to call Deepika Padukone the mother so I became Kaveri Amma'

Actress Ridhi Dogra has portrayed some strong roles on TV and carried that same presence onto the 70mm with Jawan. In the Shah Rukh Khan starrer, Ridhi played the popular role of Kaveri Amma, who was SRK's godmother in the film. While the role was special, it is something that Ridhi has still not managed to come to terms with. On SCREEN's Dear Me Season 2, the actress spoke about landing the role and revealed how her inner fangirl reacted around Shah Rukh. Talking about working on Jawan, Ridhi said, 'SRK is eternally young and I am like a mother to him, that's ridiculous, that's the stuff nightmares are made of. I was directly called to meet Atlee on the sets of Jawan. I was very happy, but I didn't know where I was going and what was happening. After reaching there, I realized that they were shooting Jawan, the whole set was ready. Atlee explained the role to me, and I was like, 'No, what makes you think I am this person?'' Also Read: Ridhi Dogra reveals no phones were allowed on Jawan set, admits she was skeptical about playing 'old to Shah Rukh Khan' She added, 'There is a younger part in the movie, and I am not his mother. I think they just didn't want to call Deepika the mother, so I became Kaveri Amma, but Deepika was the mother. I was the guardian. For me, it was like, what the hell. I was also in a funky headspace at that time. I thought it's just one life, and I shouldn't let go of this opportunity. I was getting to be on a set with Atlee, so I thought I should just do it.' Ridhi Dogra also shared how it was being around Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. 'For me, it was more like being on the set and seeing how Shah Rukh works. I didn't realize that I would be there acting with him. It was painful. I need to do a project with him in this lifetime to erase this memory. I need that redemption. Deepika is fantastic; she is very empathetic, and I took that from her. Just looking at her, you could tell that she is very present and grateful for what she has through her demeanor. If you work in an environment like that, it is gratifying for everyone.' Also Read | Ridhi Dogra checked if she was legally allowed to work with Fawad Khan before signing Abir Gulaal: 'I wouldn't have done it if…' Revealing that her anxiety levels were at the peak throughout Jawan, Ridhi shared, 'I was very nervous to play Kaveri Amma, very scared. Throughout the shoot, my anxiety was hitting the roof. I was having a panic attack every day because I just couldn't understand how it was going to make sense. It was not like a project that would come and go; it was a massive film. I never questioned my decision, but I had a lot of nerves.' One thing Ridhi Dogra regrets is that she didn't get to meet Shah Rukh Khan properly. She says, 'Having SRK around added to the nervousness. I don't think I have spoken to him. I am not proud of it. I went to his house. He had a little party after the release, and it is ridiculous how I couldn't go up to him. Now, when I look back, I had friends over there, people who knew him, I should have just told someone to take me to him. I met his wife, mother-in-law, and his kids, but him…I need a reset.' On the work front, Ridhi Dogra was last seen in the web series Kull. She also had Abir Gulaal with Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor releasing. However, the film was later banned following tension between India and Pakistan. Talking about Abir Gulaal's ban, Ridhi said, 'Right now it is more important to stand by our Government and by our military forces. Everything we say or do, entertainment is honestly not so important. How can I, as a mere civilian, contribute to the country, and this is a very small price. While there is money at stake, that is for the producer. It's hard for them.'
