Man Utd warned ticket price increase will cause ‘enormous harm'
Manchester United has announced significant ticket price increases, described as a 'kick in the teeth' for fans.
The price hikes come despite the club's record-breaking poor performance last season, finishing 15th in the Premier League with their lowest-ever points tally.
The new 'match categorisation model' will raise the cheapest ticket price by over 50 per cent, with cup match prices increasing from £32 to £52 and Premier League prices now ranging from £60 to £97.
The Manchester United Supporters Trust (MUST) said that fans were not consulted on the plans and warned the move would cause 'enormous harm' to the atmosphere at Old Trafford.
MUST believes the price increases will alienate loyal, regular supporters in favour of occasional visitors and risk pricing out younger fans, undermining the club's future.
