Here's how much police are offering for info to catch IFP MP's killer

Gauteng police have issued a reward of R60 000 for information that will lead to the arrest and successful conviction of a suspect wanted in connection with the murder of former IFP Deputy Chief Whip Khethamabala Sithole.
Police are searching for Zamani Ngila Ximba, a third suspect wanted for the murder of Sithole.
Officers made a breakthrough earlier this month and arrested two suspects linked to the murder of Sithole.
Wanted suspects
The two appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court earlier this month. The case was postponed to 12 June for a formal bail application.`
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo said Ximba is also wanted for the attempted murder of two other people at Buyafuthi Hostel in Katlehong on the 31st of May 2025.
'The suspect is tall, dark in complexion and deemed armed and very dangerous'.
Sithole was killed earlier this month on a Saturday evening at Buyafuthi hostel in Katlehong, Gauteng.
Provincial secretary Alco Ngobese was also injured in the shooting and is currently receiving treatment.

Bail
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane said the two accused who appeared in court could not be named at this stage to 'protect the ongoing investigation process.'
'Both accused are in custody, and they are facing charges of murder, attempted murder, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Investigations are ongoing, with the possibility of adding more individuals'.
Not politically motivated
The IFP confirmed that Sithole's murder was not politically motivated.
It had earlier labelled the murder as an 'assassination', with several political parties calling for tolerance and an end to political killings.
Speaking outside court, IFP Gauteng Provincial Chairperson Bonginkosi Dhlamini said the party is saddened by the murder of Sithole.
'We are relieved that the suspects appeared today here in court. We can confirm it has nothing to do with politics, but it has everything to do with what police will divulge at the right time.'
Dhlamini said the IFP is opposed to the suspects being granted bail.

'She is still alive': Joslin Smith hope renewed

The National Prosecuting Authority has renewed hope that little Joslin Smith is still alive despite being missing for over a year. The Salanha Bay girl's disappearance has sparked a national, and even international, rescue effort. Her mother, Kelly Smith, and two others – Jacquin 'Boeta' Appollis and Steveno van Rhyn – have since been convicted and sentenced for kidnapping and child trafficking. Speaking in a webinar this week, NPA prosecutor Zelda Swanepoel shared her beliefs about Joslin Smith. Earlier this month, Swapepoel helped the state to convict Joslin's mother, Kelly Smith, the latter's boyfriend, Jacquin 'Boeta' Appollis, and their pal, Steveno van Rhyn. A life sentence for trafficking and kidnapping was handed down by Western Cape High Court judge, Nathan Erasmus. She said of the search for the missing girl: 'We have done a comprehensive search in Saldanha of all the exhibits. 'Everything that was found in all of those dunes, all the bones, all the clothing, was analysed, there were no positive DNA results found on anything. She continued: 'I'm convinced that she is still alive. However, I don't know where she is. I can only hope we find her.' Will Kelly Smith ever reveal where her daughter Joslin is? The Saldanha Bay girl went missing on 19 February 2024. She added that much of the case hung on the state witness Lourentia Lombaard. The NPA was also banking on the possibility that Joslin's mother would testify. 'We were always hopeful during the trial that the accused would come and testify in the main trial. The plan was to destroy their credibility and demonstrate the improbabilities in their versions. Yes, their decision to remain silent, especially Kelly, was very disappointing,' she added. Meanwhile, Joslin's mother Kelly Smith as well as Appollis and van Rhyn have filed their notices this week for leave to appeal their convictions and sentences. The NPA are also awaiting the fate of the state witness Lourentia Lombaard, whose verdict will be announced by Judge Erasmus at an appointed date. A 204 inquiry will determine if Lombaard will be granted indemnity based on her testimony. If the court does find that Lombaard did not testify truthfully, she could face prosecution for perjury and related charges. Bogus tax practitioner gets 3 years behind bars for defrauding SARS out of R60k

JOHANNESBURG - A bogus tax practitioner linked to alleged underworld boss Nafiz Modack will spend three years behind bars for defrauding the South African Revenue Service (SARS) out of R60,000. Faried van der Schyff, who is also a co-accused in Modack's organised crime trial, was sentenced in the Cape Town Regional Court on Friday. It's understood that the 59-year-old posed as a registered tax consultant and illegally submitted documents to SARS, deceiving clients and pocketing the money. He was convicted on five charges, including income tax fraud, violations of the Tax Administration Act, and contravention of the Correctional Services Act. Hawks spokesperson Zinzi Hani said, 'It was reported that van der Schyff committed fraud from 2016 to 2019 by operating illegally as a tax practitioner, without being registered with the South African Revenue Service.' Van der Schyff remains a co-accused in the Western Cape High Court trial involving Modack and 14 others, a case with nearly 3,000 charges, including murder, extortion and racketeering.
