Diddy's drug mule Brendan Paul to take the stand as experts reveal why trial is nearly over

Daily Mail3 days ago

Sean ' Diddy ' Combs alleged drug mule is expected to take the stand in his trial Wednesday as the prosecution wraps up their case.
The mogul's lawyers revealed this week they will now only need as little as two days to present their case - a move experts think could signal the defense is feeling optimistic about Diddy's chances of walking free.
'This current change is likely based on the defense's observation of some weaknesses in the prosecution's case. We have to keep in mind that the burden of proof rests on the prosecution,' attorney Nicole Brenecki told Fox News.
The defense's announcement came before the jury was shown nearly 20 minutes of explicit video recordings of the 'freak-offs' at the center of the case against the music executive.
Diddy, 55, has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges. He has been jailed at a federal lockup in Brooklyn since his September arrest at a Manhattan hotel.
Diddy's 'drug mule' Brendan Paul to take the stand
Paul was named in a civil lawsuit filed last February by Rodney Jones Jr who accused Diddy of forcing him to hire prostitutes to engage in sex acts.
Jones accused Paul of being Diddy's drug 'mule' who transported drugs for him, as well as guns.
Paul, 25, a former Syracuse University basketball player, was arrested in March last year at Opa-locka airport in Miami.
He was charged with cocaine and marijuana possession but was given a six month drug intervention programme, which he completed and so avoided jail time.
Paul testified in court under an immunity order signed by the judge.

Emma Roberts' secret hobby revealed as she makes surprise appearance at Fanatics event

Emma Roberts ' secret hobby has been revealed as the star made an appearance at Fanatics Fest 2025 on Friday in New York City. The American Horror Story actress, 34 - who turned heads at the Zimmermann Summer event this week - joined other celebrities during the festivities, such as retired NFL player Tom Brady. The mom-of-one is no stranger when it comes to the world of sports, and has dropped hints about one of her passions: collecting trading cards. Earlier this year in January, Roberts jumped to her Instagram stories to reveal that she pulled a Jackson Holliday Topps Chrome card. Holliday is an infielder for the Baltimore Orioles. She uploaded a snap of herself at the time as she held the card and placed one of her hands over her mouth in excitement. In text added towards the top of the photo, Emma penned to her followers: 'the face of pulling my most covered 1/1. #1of1day @topps.' And earlier this year in April, the beauty shared a photo dump onto her main page - and showcased more cards that she had pulled. One of them included an autographed Caleb Williams card - who is known as the quarterback of the Chicago Bears. Roberts was pictured sitting at a table inside what appeared to be restaurant with cards and unopened foil packages placed in front of her. She gave a look at the Williams card by holding it up towards the camera and held a big smile on her face. The last image in the post showed two Star Wars cards, with one of Darth Vader and the other Mustafar. At the time, some social media users jumped to the comment section of the post to share their thoughts of the actress's subtle hint at her secret hobby. One had penned, 'A collector!' followed by clapping hand emojis, while another typed, 'Those cards are awesome, good pulls!' 'Sweater matching the pack foils??? Operating on elite levels at the moment,' a fan added, referencing to the card packaging. At the time, some social media users jumped to the comment section of the post to share their thoughts of the actress's subtle hint at her secret hobby One had penned, 'A collector!' followed by clapping hand emojis, while another typed, 'Those cards are awesome, good pulls!' One shared, 'And you rip cards?!' while another commented, 'Bro we need pack opening videos. Let us scratch that itch.' Emma had the chance to take part in a discussion at 2025 Fanatics Fest on Friday for the panel: Ready. Set. Collect. On the stage, she was also joined by retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady as well as Logan Paul. The Scream Queens alum wore a sleeveless, dark blue-patterned dress which was paired with sheer black tights and heels. Her reddish locks were parted in the middle and effortlessly flowed down past her shoulders in light waves. The star - who has previously sported blonde locks - debuted the new hair color earlier this year in February. Just days earlier before whisking herself to NYC, the actress put on a stylish display as she enjoyed time in Mykonos, Greece. On Tuesday, she attended the Zimmerman Summer lunch and wore a patterned sundress as well as a pair of open-toed, tan pumps. Her locks were styled into two braids and she also carried a fashionable bag in her hands to hold items she needed during the event. Emma additionally sported a pair of large shades to protect her eyes from the bright sunshine at the venue near the ocean. And one day earlier on Monday, the star was spotted posing for a brief photo session on a sandy area near the water. She wore a semi-sheer dress that fell down past her ankles at the Zimmerman Summer event. Other stars were also in attendance including actress Olivia Wilde. While Roberts recently revealed her passion for trading cards, the star has another known hobby: reading books. Back in 2017, she notably launched the online reading community Belletrist with close friend Karah Preiss. During an interview with People last year, Emma opened up about choosing books for the club and admitted that 'there is no formula.' She added, 'It's genuinely whatever moves us. But I will say try to pick books that we read and then need to talk about. That's what makes a good Belletrist pick. You read it and you're like: I gotta talk to someone about this - now!' Roberts has been in a relationship with actor Cody John since 2022, and the couple announced their engagement last year in July. The actress is also mom to son Rhodes, four - whom she shares with ex Garrett Hedlund.

Wisconsin sues Miami over transfer tampering in a legal first

June 21 - The University of Wisconsin sued the University of Miami on Friday, formally accusing the Florida school of tampering with a football player under a financial contract with the Badgers. The decision to sue could become a watershed moment in the current era of college athletics. Never before has a university accused another of tampering with one of its athletes, who did not have contracts before the dawn of name, image and likeness rights this decade. "While we reluctantly bring this case, we stand by our position that respecting and enforcing contractual obligations is essential to maintaining a level playing field," the school said in a statement provided to ESPN on Friday. Though Wisconsin's lawsuit only refers to the player as Student Athlete A, the subject of the case is cornerback Xavier Lucas, who left Wisconsin and enrolled at Miami over the winter without ever entering the transfer portal. It was reported at the time that Wisconsin refused to put Lucas' name in the transfer portal. Lucas signed a two-year contract with the Badgers in December 2024 -- a deal that gave the football program nonexclusive rights to use his NIL but also prohibited him from committing to enroll or participate in athletics at another school. Lucas enrolled at Miami in January. Wisconsin's lawsuit alleges that a Miami staffer and a prominent alumnus of the school met with Lucas and his family and offered him money to transfer. --Field Level Media

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski's Lombardi Trophy prank ends in disaster

and Rob Gronkowski 's reunion with Lombardi Trophy ended in disaster on Friday. The pair headlined a star-studded lineup at Fanatics Fest in New York City, joining the likes of Peyton Manning, Kevin Durant, Derek Jeter and Livvy Dunne. However, the former New England Patriots teammates left fans stunned for all the wrong reasons with their antics. A viral clip shared by Jordan Schultz captured the pair breaking the Lombardi Trophy with their game of catch. Thankfully, it appeared to be a mere replica. In a corridor, the former quarterback, surrounded by fans, attempted to prove that his connection with the retired tight end was still as strong as it had been during their playing days. He tossed the trophy towards Gronkowski, who caught it - only just. Gronkowski, who followed Brady to Tampa Bay in 2020, clasped the football-shaped top of the trophy as the base broke off and hit the floor. Tom Brady and Gronk just broke the Lombardi! 😱 (via @michaelrubin, @TomBrady) — Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) June 20, 2025 'You broke it,' Brady could be heard shouting at Gronkowski as the two studied the broken trophy. 'You are washed up. I'm going home.' The duo hoisted four Lombardi Trophies during their playing days together, three in New England and one with the Buccaneers. Brady is no stranger to a Lombardi toss, having launched the trophy from a boat during the Buccaneers' 2020 Super Bowl win. However, that time, the trophy managed to safely find the hands of Cameron Brate. The game of catch wasn't Brady's only pank at Fanatics Fest Friday. The seven-time Super Bowl champion brutally trolled his former rival Eli Manning by ripping his New York Giants jersey in half. Brady spoke to some of the crowd at Manhattan's Javits Center before then taking part in a WWE-style performance later on. The Fox commentator came out to the theme song of pro wrestler Cody Rhodes wearing sunglasses and carrying a WWE-style championship belt. But, as he made his way down to the walkway, Brady was presented with a Giants jersey that had 'Manning 10' on the back. The former New England Patriots quarterback then ripped the jersey in half in a playful dig at Manning. Brady's actions prompted Manning, who was watching on, to storm the stage and climb on his rival's back. Their rivalry dates back to their stellar NFL careers, when Manning and the Giants were able to briefly halt the Patriots' dominant run to beat them in two Super Bowls.
