The Amity Affliction cover Turnstile's 'HOLIDAY' for Like A Version
Metalcore stalwarts The Amity Affliction took a step back into their hardcore pasts with their debut in the Like A Version studio.
The group wrangled Turnstile's 'HOLIDAY' by the horns – a distinct East Coast hardcore sound they grew up with – and gave it their own spin with the inclusion of synths and a furious string section.
"Back in hardcore, you would cover your friends' bands," guitarist Dan Brown said.
"That was quite normal to be like 'oh, this other band from our hometown play this song and we like it too, so we're gonna play it too.' Bands would almost share songs. Hopefully [Turnstile] see it like that."
Amity saw this cover as them not only giving a nod to a fellow big riffs band, but a group that's bringing heavy music to a bigger audience.
"There's so many gifted, talented musicians in punk bands, in hardcore bands, in metal bands," drummer Joe Longobardi said.
"And I think they've all paid their dues and it's nice to see the gratification from the outside world recognising, on a broader scale, the talent involved."

Ozempic is also associated with a number of side-effects including most commonly gastrointestinal disorders like nausea, diarrhoea and vomiting, in a way that doctor-approved changes to diet and exercise are not. 'When I was vegan, I was consuming a lot of fake meats, I was eating a lot of bread, I was eating a lot of rice and I had to eat a lot of it to stay full,' she recalled. 'When I started actually eating whole foods and eating, like, beef and chicken and fish, I was actually full and not expanding my stomach by putting a lot of fake things in there that [weren't] actually filling me up,' the songwriter continued. 'It's not easy,' Lizzo insisted. 'It's a drug to help somebody with something they're struggling with.' She added that 'telling someone they're cheating' is a 'way of being fatphobic.' According to the TGA in Australia, 'Ozempic has been included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. This means that the medicine has been evaluated by the TGA for its safety, quality and efficacy for that indication only.' Lizzo made headlines in September 2024 for hitting back at an Instagram hater questioning whether she was taking the type II diabetes drug. 'Whyyyy [sic] do u follow me?' she asked at the time. The following year, Lizzo explained that she had, instead, applied 'a calorie deficit' and cut 'sugary stuff' from her diet. Adelaide woman's crazy find at bottom of hotpot

Adelaide woman Shraddha said she ordered a hotpot from a takeaway shop last week. She ate most of the meal at the restaurant but took some home for later. It was then she noticed something strange. 'I was picking at the bottom, and the container was feeling a little bit weird,' she said in a TikTok video. The Adelaide woman found a phone in her hotpot. Working might be a bit of a stretch, understandably a temperature warning could be seen on the phone as she dragged it out of the soup. 'I rang the place, and I was like 'hey I found a phone in my hotpot' and they were like 'oh yeah we did have a phone missing from one of our chefs',' she continued. She added: 'What had happened was apparently the chef put the phone down in the takeaway container and because it was black it blended in with the container. Katherine Heigl's candid bathroom confession praised
One of Hollywood's biggest stars has been praised for throwing her weight behind a health topic that is typically considered taboo. Katherine Heigl, known for her roles in Grey's Anatomy, Firefly Lane and 27 Dresses, has teamed up with healthcare brand Poise to speak about bladder leakage and perimenopause. In a video shared to Instagram, Heigl speaks directly to her Australian fans. 'As you know, I am not one to shy away from speaking out and so now I am speaking directly to you,' she said. 'When Poise came to me and said that the prevalence of bladder leakage is even higher in Australia with two in three women over 25 experiencing what I like to call the old 'giggle dribble' I wanted to do a special call out to my fans Down Under. 'Those post-partum or perimenopause bladder leaks are so common but often not talked about and so I thought this was an excellent opportunity to get outspoke once again. I don't want a single woman out there to feel alone in this experience or to feel shame or embarrassment. I refuse to let a little giggle dribble stop me from doing everything it means to be a woman and a mother.' Heigl went on share more about her own experience with bladder leakage, with the Emmy Award winner revealing her first experience with it happened after the birth of her son Joshua in 2017. 'I was just like, 'Oh, excuse me, I'm going to need to go change my underwear'. I kind of just laughed through it versus feeling shame. But then you start going through perimenopause and it's just all falling apart. So you just have to embrace it,' she said. She reiterated that she wasn't OK with anyone feeling any kind of shame or embarrassment around it as it's a natural part of being a woman. 'And it's such a blessing to have a product that can support you through that,' she said. 'Just having someone else who's going through it or having similar experiences makes you feel like, okay, it's not just me. It's kind of universal – which is why I feel strongly that there should be more proactive help for all of us women going through this.'
