TGSO hosts run for Special Olympics Texas

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office is hosting a run to raise funds for Special Olympics Texas.
TGSO is joining the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics with a 1K and 5K run in San Angelo on July 19 at the Red Arroyo Trail (Milbrook Loop) at 8:30 a.m.
'This is our first run that we're putting together with Special Olympics,' said Lt. Quentin Williams.
This is a family-friendly event to help raise funds to help with the cost of uniforms and the cost of travel for athletes.
Registration for the run is online at $25 per person and includes a t-shirt. Donations are also available online for those who want to help but do not want to participate in the event.
'Anybody in the community can sign up for this actual run. It's a for-fun run,' Williams said.

Not to say others have alienated themselves from their supporters, but the 24-year-old has gone out of his way to be relatable. Ahead of a 2025 NBA Finals Game 7 against the Indiana Pacers, Williams expects the best home crowd he's ever experienced. There's been a Jekyll and Hyde situation throughout the playoffs for the Thunder. At home, they look like a dominant win machine that's blown teams out. On the road, they look vulnerable as their offense gets ugly. The Thunder hope they can continue their home success one last time. The OKC home crowd should provide them a boost of adrenaline before the game even tips off. "It makes the hair on your arms stand up a little bit. You're anxious going into it. Honestly, it's a little indescribable. It's hard to give a good answer because this Game 7 is going to be completely different from the last one we played in," Williams said. And it appears that Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is fitting right into that vitriol. Speaking at Fanatics Fest in New York City on Friday, Williams said that Packers fans "suck," as shown in a video captured by Empire Sports Media. "After the game, after we won at Lambeau — 1-0 at Lambeau — we tried to do the Lambeau Leap, tried to jump into the crowd where our fans were," Williams said. "[Packers fans] just started throwing everything at you, push you off. The Lambeau Leap, it's a real leap. It's not a little baby jump, you actually have to high jump, basically. And they're pushing you, pushing your face." The Bears and Packers split their 2025 regular-season series, with both teams winning on the other's home turf. In Week 11, the Packers blocked a would-be game-winning, 46-yard field goal from Cairo Santos as time expired in the fourth quarter. Then, in Week 18, Santos made a 51-yard field goal as time expired in the fourth quarter, which ended a 10-game losing streak on the season for the Bears, as well as an 11-game losing streak to the Packers and an eight-game losing streak at Lambeau Field.
