Listen as Tans rapist Isla Bryson boasts about bagging men behind bars in prison call

Daily Record14-06-2025

Scotland's most controversial prisoner has admitted life in male estates has meant the rapist has been able to forge romantic relationships with male prisoners.
Trans rapist Isla Bryson can be heard boasting about bagging men behind bars in a shocking phone call made from prison.
The sex fiend told of the relationships after being moved from a female jail to the male estate.

Scotland's most controversial prisoner admitted life in male prisons has meant the rapist has been able to forge romantic connections with male inmates.

In the first ever recorded telephone call from jail this week, Bryson vowed to continue living as a woman and claimed of 'meeting men' and admitted striking up a relationship with a fellow prisoner, who was jailed for child sex abuse and drug offences.

'I've always been like this
Can I be honest, I am glad I'm in a male jail and do you know why?
'Because if I was in a female jail I'd never be able to have relationships or meet guys.

'Do you know what I mean?'
Bryson, born Adam Graham, began to identify as a woman called Isla while awaiting trial for rape.

Bryson's case caused public and political outrage after the rapist was sent to female jail Cornton Vale before Nicola Sturgeon, then first minister, announced a switch to all-male HMP Edinburgh.
The double rapist, who was jailed for eight years, with a further three on licence in February 2023, was later moved to HMP Glenochil.
Referring to his relationship with the other con, Bryson said: 'I met him in the jail and I was with him for six months and then he got moved.

'I was sleeping with him for six months. And basically he got moved
'Obviously it was all consensual.'

In April, Britain's Supreme Court ruled that only two biological sexes - male and female, assigned at birth - can be recognised under the 2010 Equality Act.
The decision is likely to have far reaching repercussions and has raised questions over whether trans prisoners should be housed in all-female jails.
Bryson, 33, was convicted in January 2023 of raping woman in Clydebank and Drumchapel, while known as Graham.
A spokesperson for The Scottish Prison Service said: 'We don't comment on individuals.
'We have received the Supreme Court's judgement and are considering any potential impact it may have."

Dear Coleen: 'Eaten up with guilt over sleeping with my brother's wife'

We haven't spoken a word about it since, but we have to see each other at family events and things are tense between us. My brother still has no idea that anything happened. Dear Coleen Recently, I went on a night out with my mates from work and the group included my brother's wife, who works alongside me in the same department. ‌ It was a great night and everyone was having a good time … until the shots arrived. I got chatting to my sister-in-law about life and then we moved on to discussing my brother and she admitted that she's fallen out of love with him. ‌ The conversation got really deep and personal, and sparks started to fly. Unfortunately, one thing led to another and I ended up in bed with her. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! We haven't spoken a word about it since, but we have to see each other at family events and things are tense between us. My brother still has no idea that anything happened. What should I do, should I tell my brother what I did? The guilt is killing me and I think it's probably up to me to come clean, as I know his wife won't say anything. What would be worse for him? I've recently come through a divorce, so I understand how hard it is and know how it affected me mentally. I'd appreciate your opinion. Coleen says ‌ Whichever way you look at it, this is a bad situation and what you did was pretty unforgivable, which you know because the guilt is eating you up. Being drunk is not an excuse and won't ease the pain. I can't tell you what to do – I can just help you to look at it from all angles, so you can think it over, but don't make any knee-jerk decisions. To be completely honest, I think if you tell your brother, your relationship is as good as over. Ask yourself what your motive is for telling him – is it just about you and getting rid of your guilt by handing the problem to him? ‌ It is hard to live with guilt, but sometimes when you've made a bad choice, you have to. I guess there's a chance his wife will pursue a divorce, as it's clear the marriage is in trouble and she's admitted she's not in love with him, so your problem might go away. You could leave it and pray it never comes out – the danger is, if your brother and his wife get into an argument and she wants to hurt him, she might blurt out that she slept with you. So, the next question is, can you trust her? It's less important for her to keep what happened a secret because she can walk away and move on, but your relationship with your brother will be left in ruins. You say you've never spoken to her about that night, but maybe it would be a good idea to have a conversation during a break at work about how you handle things going forward. It might make things less awkward when you have to see each other with the rest of the family and provide some sort of reassurance.

Almost 500 Police Scotland officers and staff currently on long-term sick leave

The figures released under Freedom of Information come at a time of increasing violence towards officers. Almost 500 police officers and civilian support staff are currently on long-term sick leave, according to a new report. The figures released under Freedom of Information come at a time of increasing violence towards officers and claims of plummeting morale and mounting workloads leading to stress and other mental health problems. ‌ The Police Scotland report shows 340 cops and 143 office workers on long-term sick. Three cops have been off for more than three years. A further 16 have been absent for between two and three years and 48 absent for between one year and two years. ‌ The largest number – 151 cops and 54 civilian staff – have been off sick for between four months and a year. David Kennedy, general secretary of the Scottish Police Federation, representing the rank-and-file, said members are at breaking point. 'We have been warning about this for a while. The numbers going off sick are only going to get worse. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. 'The police service has got to do more to get them back to work. There's also no investment from the Scottish Government – they are not interested.' Kennedy added: 'People are tired of their conditions. They are done in. They have had enough. Assaults are going through the roof.' ‌ Last June, Police Scotland numbers dropped to 16,207, the lowest since records began in 2007. In 2023-24, 12,141 officers took sick leave – about 75 per cent of the force strength. Earlier this month it was revealed police are being assaulted on an almost hourly basis, with 7159 attacks last year – 425 more than in 2023. Scottish Liberal Democrat justice spokesperson Liam McArthur added: 'The pressure-cooker conditions facing police officers are pushing too many to the brink. It's a vicious cycle because it stretches the officers who remain dangerously thin, making them more likely to leave as well.' Police Scotland said: 'We have a range of mechanisms in place to support our employees who are absent from work.' The Scottish Government said: 'Our continued investment has enabled Police Scotland to take on more recruits in the last financial year than at any time since 2013.'
